My Lady Always Lacks Ambition-Chapter 315 - 314: Returning Evil for Evil
Chapter 315: Chapter 314: Returning Evil for Evil
As Qin Liuxi was leading those mischievous children astray, the ghost of the Liang Family returned to the Jia Mansion. At this time, after Daoist Chengyang chased the female ghost away, everyone in the Jia Family looked at each other in confusion, all rushing into Jia Zhen’s room.
Jia Zhen had been haunted by the vindictive soul of Liang Family’s ghost for some time now, and had long been eroded by evil spirits to the point where he was hanging on by a thread, with his body so thin that it was almost just skin wrapping bones, cheeks sunken, making his already murky eyes appear even more hollow.
After Liang Family’s ghost was fiercely driven away by Daoist Chengyang, Jia Zhen experienced a moment of relief, his body that had been weighed down for so many days felt as if a giant stone had been lifted, even his breathing smoothed out.
Looking at Mr. Jia entering the room, Jia Zhen propped up his body and asked, "Dad, did the master drive away that female ghost?"
Landlord Jia hesitated, "Should have, master chased her out, how do you feel now?"
Jia Zhen cracked a smile, "Great, I’ve never felt as great as I do now. Dad, make sure the master beats her so that she can never reincarnate."
As he spoke, his gaunt and sunken face contorted grotesquely, making him even more terrifying to behold.
Landlord Jia was overjoyed, "Feeling great is good, you lie down and don’t talk, someone, hurry and fetch ginseng chicken soup for Zhen to replenish his energy."
The women swarmed out.
Landlord Jia consoled Jia Zhen with a few words and was also worried about Daoist Chengyang returning. With no head of the family present, he told him to rest well, and then he himself waited for Daoist Chengyang outside.
However, no sooner had Landlord Jia stepped out of the room than the door behind him slammed shut with a bang. He was startled and turned his head, "Zhen?"
Jia Zhen was also startled; he was still in a half-sitting position, staring wide-eyed as a dark mist appeared in the room. Within the mist, wrapped in it, was the ghost of Liang Family, drifting closer to him.
"Ah ah ah, don’t come over, don’t come over," Jia Zhen screamed in terror.
Landlord Jia heard his son’s cry, panicked, and quickly pushed at the door, "Zhen, Zhen, open the door."
Liang Family showed her most ferocious side, the one from when she died; intestines hanging out of her body, eyes blood red, and bloody tears streaming down her face, hands and legs bent in a bizarre manner.
Just the sight alone terrified Jia Zhen to the point of wanting his Divine Soul to break apart, "Don’t come over, I beg you, I was wrong."
"I want you dead!" Liang Family pounced at him.
She did unto him how she was wronged, revenge for her daughter included.
The legs of Jia Zhen were bent painfully, eliciting a scream of agony from him. Then, he was forcibly made to grab a pair of scissors with one hand, and with the other supporting him, he began cutting toward his lower body.
"No, no! Aooo!"
Landlord Jia was beside himself with urgency; knocking on the door elicited no response, so he had to use brute force to break it down. What met his eyes upon entering was a bone-chilling scene.
Jia Zhen, drenched in blood, sat on the bed, with his left hand holding his vile thing, and his right hand holding a pair of scissors, legs bent bizarrely, lower body already a blur of flesh and blood.
And it didn’t stop there; he raised the scissors towards the artery in his own neck.
"Zhen, no," Landlord Jia lunged forward.
A squelching sound - the scissors sank into the flesh, blood spraying onto Landlord Jia’s face.
Jia Zhen, with empty yet terrified wide eyes, gazed at Landlord Jia, his lips quivered, his body convulsed non-stop, and his breath slowly faded.
Blackness enveloped Landlord Jia’s vision, and he fell backward.
Liang Family glared at him intensely, "As a father who fails to teach, it is your fault. As a father who indulges your child to commit atrocities, you do not deserve to have children."
With a wave of her hand, the oil lamp on the table fell onto Landlord Jia’s lower body and ignited.
"Ah ah ah!" The maids and servants screamed, terrified, and rolled and crawled their way out.
A bold steward rushed in and frantically tried to slap out the fire at Landlord Jia’s location, but it was too late and a faint scent of burnt flesh lingered.
The fire extinguished, and Landlord Jia had also completely passed out.
It was all over.
Liang Family laughed hysterically, looking at the bloody scene before her, laughter turned to tears, feeling the utmost relief.
She left the Jia Family without looking back.
Before her soul scattered, she still had to check on her poor daughter.
...
Qin Liuxi stood with her hands behind her back, gazing at the night sky and sighed deeply.
Returning evil for evil, she truly wasn’t afraid to fall into the Eighteen Layers of Hell.
Qin Liuxi leapt onto the wall and vanished into the night.
Teng Zhao leaned on the window, watching the direction of Qin Liuxi’s departure, tilted his head, then lay back down on the bed.
Does evil really beget evil?
Qin Liuxi arrived in front of a peasant’s courtyard, glanced at it, then moved around to the back, where there was a cattle shed.
"Everyone else might be all right, but how could you go through with this to your own daughter?" Qin Liuxi spoke calmly.
The body of Mrs. Liang Family stiffened, and as she turned her head, she saw Qin Liuxi: "Great Master, why have you come?"
Qin Liuxi said, "If I hadn’t come, you would have taken her away."
She looked at the small girl curled up on the weeds; it was already October, and the night was freezing cold. The small girl was only wearing a thin garment and had gathered weeds over her, her brow furrowing, her small face a bundle of wrinkles—uncertain if it were from bad dreams or the cold, her tiny body was trembling.
Mrs. Liang Family said, "Living like this, she’s better off coming with me, rather than enduring this torture. Great Master, look at her; does she even resemble a person anymore?"
Qin Liuxi spoke, "It’s better to scrape by than to die; she’s still young, the future holds many possibilities."
"What possibilities could there be after being ravaged like this?" Mrs. Liang Family wept.
Qin Liuxi insisted, "If I say there are possibilities, then there are."
Boom.
A muffled thunderclap echoed in the sky.
It was so sudden, as if a warning.
Yet Qin Liuxi seemed to pay it no heed, reaching out to feel the girl’s pulse, frowning slightly, then relaxing her brow.
"Do you have silver?" Qin Liuxi looked at Mrs. Liang Family and said, "Give me the consultation fee, and I’ll save her."
Mrs. Liang Family froze, then quickly nodded: "Yes, yes."
She looked around and said to Qin Liuxi, "Great Master, here."
Qin Liuxi followed where she pointed, towards a trough used to hold fodder for the cattle.
"The old woman hid the silver here. I saw it," Mrs. Liang Family said. "Please, Great Master, take it yourself to treat my girl."
Raising an eyebrow, Qin Liuxi moved the trough and indeed found a small chest underneath. She dug and opened it to see two ten-tael small ingots inside.
"This is the life-saving money for me and my daughter." Mrs. Liang Family said with teeth clenched in hatred, no more, no less than twenty taels.
Qin Liuxi took the ingots without a hint of guilt, replaced the trough back to its original place.
She took the money with peace of mind; after all, it was a fee provided by the victim and, as Mrs. Liang had said, their money, entitled for her to dispose of.
Qin Liuxi pocketed the ingots and took out a medicine bottle from her waist. She gave the little girl a pill and then took out a silver needle, pinpointing the acupuncture points with one hand and swiftly inserting the Flying Needle with the other.
"Let the past turn to dust and smoke."
Mrs. Liang Family’s fingertips trembled as she watched her daughter’s pained face relax from its scrunched state to gradually ease until it became serene and undisturbed.
A quarter of an hour later, the little girl opened her eyes to see Qin Liuxi. She blinked, her voice hoarse: "Who are you?"
"I’m the person here to take you away." Qin Liuxi pointed at Mrs. Liang Family: "Kowtow to her three times, and then follow me."
Mrs. Liang Family covered her mouth, tears rolling down her face.
