My Infinite Cultivation System-Chapter 64: System evolved
The night passed without further incident.
Alex did not move from his chosen spot between the two rocky ridges. After crushing the sabertoothed lion, he had remained seated, back straight, senses extended but restrained. The Prime Sanctuary was too dangerous for careless exploration. Every time he had teleported blindly, he had nearly landed in the jaws of something capable of erasing him.
Above him, the three moons slowly shifted across the sky. Purple light faded first. Green dimmed into pale silver. The crimson moon lingered the longest before retreating beyond the horizon.
The system evolution would finish in two hours. Until then, making plans was pointless. He would have to adapt to whatever changes came.
He reviewed everything calmly.
Teleportation was reliable but strained his body when used over long distances. Gravity control was devastating but required precision, especially in a place where the natural gravity was already amplified. Spirit Animal scouting was useful, yet dangerous if it alerted stronger beings.
For now, waiting was the safest option.
Two hours later, as dawn light began to blend with the fading glow of the moons, the familiar mechanical chime echoed in his mind.
[Ding. The system has evolved.]
Alex’s eyes sharpened.
[Ding. New function unlocked. The host will break through one level every seven days regardless of available energy sources. The system will autonomously reserve energy from existing sources.]
He blinked once.
Then the next notification struck.
[Ding. Host has survived for twenty four hours inside Prime Sanctuary. Absolute Reality level talent is being rewarded.]
[Ding. You have gained: The Ultimate Physique.]
The notifications kept ringing, layering over each other. For a brief moment, his mind struggled to process the magnitude of what he had just received.
Break through one level every seven days.
It sounded simple, but it was absurd.
The higher one climbed, the more time and resources were required to advance. The gap between realms widened exponentially. Yet now the system would force advancement regardless of energy scarcity.
Within half a year, he could theoretically reach the peak of the Emperor Realm.
"Damn, boy," Alex muttered before laughing out loud.
The sound echoed too sharply in the still air.
Boom.
A crimson mantis appeared in front of him almost instantly, descending from the cliffside like a blade falling from the sky.
"Shi..."
He did not even check its panel.
Teleportation activated.
He vanished and reappeared two kilometers away.
He chose not to go farther. This region had proven relatively stable. His careless laughter had attracted the monster. That was his mistake, not the location’s.
He exhaled slowly.
"Control yourself."
Only after calming down did he focus on the second reward.
"The Ultimate Physique."
He opened the panel.
[Ultimate Physique: Your genes possess infinite potential. By killing living organisms, you may absorb a portion of their life essence to evolve your genetic strength.]
[Current Level: 4]
[Life Essence: 0/8000]
[Genetic Strength: 4x]
His pupils contracted.
"Holy..."
He stopped himself from laughing again.
This talent was beyond broken.
He no longer needed cultivation techniques to refine his body. Killing alone would strengthen his genes. Combined with automatic breakthroughs every seven days, his growth curve had become monstrous.
Currently, his genetic strength was four times that of a normal human. That meant even if he faced someone with equal combat power, his raw physical output would be four times superior.
And it could grow infinitely.
He took a steady breath and examined his overall status.
[Cultivation Level: 46]
[Time Until Next Breakthrough: 6 Days 23 Hours]
[Strength: 8.5 Gigatons]
[Speed: Mach 100]
[Defense: 34 Gigatons]
[Combat Prowess: Martial Monarch Level 6]
[Ultimate Combat Prowess: Martial Monarch Level 9]
With his genetic multiplier, he could already rival a Level 9 Martial Monarch.
He looked toward the vast mountain range.
"Let the hunt begin."
This region contained countless high tier monsters, but there had to be lower tier ones as well. He only needed Beast Monarch level prey for now. Testing how much life essence one would provide was essential.
He activated Spirit Animal again.
Mental energy separated from his consciousness and formed dozens of faint spectral creatures. They scattered across valleys, cliffs, forests, and caverns.
Alex sat cross legged and linked his perception to them.
Sweat formed on his forehead within minutes.
The mountain range was filled with terrifying beings. Star Realm predators. Planetary monsters. Creatures whose mere presence distorted the air. His spirit animals had to weave carefully to avoid detection.
After scanning a wide radius, he frowned.
High tier monsters were everywhere.
Low tier ones were rare.
"I need to see what lies beyond this mountain range," he thought.
Carefully, he teleported one spirit animal outside the boundary.
The moment it materialized, a chill pierced through his chest.
In the spirit animal’s vision, he saw a small tortoise walking slowly over barren ground.
It looked harmless.
But the aura it emitted was suffocating.
A panel appeared.
[Name: Common Tortoise]
[Talent: None]
[Rank: Level 6 Galactic Overlord]
[Note: Most common species outside the mountain range.]
Alex swallowed.
Outside the mountains, a Galactic Overlord was common.
He suddenly felt grateful to be inside this range.
"I should have chosen the human territory," he muttered bitterly.
The Prime Sanctuary was insane.
Still, panic would not help him.
He began calculating.
"Wait until I reach at least Planetary Realm strength. Then I can start hunting systematically. Eventually, I will kill or tame that nine headed hydra."
The hydra’s pressure was immense, but not unreachable in the long term.
For now, he focused on Beast Monarch level targets.
After half an hour of careful scouting, one of his spirit animals located a solitary Beast Monarch predator hiding within a rocky crevice.
Alex teleported near it.
This time, he approached strategically.
Gravity surged downward.
The creature collapsed instantly.
He stepped forward and ended its life.
A faint stream of energy flowed from the corpse into his body.
[Life Essence gained: 120]
He observed the panel.
120 out of 8000.
"Not bad."
If this was consistent, he would need roughly 70 Beast Monarch kills to advance his genetic level.
Manageable.
He continued hunting selectively throughout the day, always teleporting short distances to avoid alerting stronger beings. By evening, he had accumulated over two thousand life essence.
He did not rush.
Patience was survival.
....
Anna arrived at Alex’s villa as promised.
Elizabeth welcomed her warmly. The two women sat in the living room, sunlight filtering through the windows.
They talked about ordinary things at first. School. News. Minor gossip.
But Anna’s eyes drifted toward the hallway repeatedly.
Elizabeth noticed that.
"That brat has not left his room for twenty five days," Elizabeth said with a faint smile that failed to hide her worry. "If he does not come out in five more days, I will knock the door down myself."
Anna nodded.
She tried to appear calm, but concern lingered in her gaze.
....
Back on the western continent.
A saint flew low over the terrain at high speed.
Harold’s expression was relaxed, but his mind was calculating.
"I need to contact them directly," he thought. "As a member of the Monster Association, I can negotiate them to become a part of the Association. Lord Zerkos will be pleased if superior races align with us."
His objective was clear.
Dragons. Vampires. Phoenixes. Werewolves. Giants.
If even one race joined their cause, humanity’s position would collapse.
Behind him, another saint followed him discreetly.
Robert maintained distance while suppressing his aura.
Arthur had ordered him to monitor Harold. If Harold was truly affiliated with a dark organization, confirmation was necessary.
Harold slowed slightly.
He glanced back.
Nothing.
"For days it feels like someone is watching me," he thought.
He accelerated suddenly and vanished.
Robert cursed silently and increased his speed, but Harold’s trail had disappeared.
Before he could reassess, a cold voice spoke behind him.
"Looking for someone?"
Robert’s heart sank.
He attempted to turn with a smile forming, preparing an excuse.
But a sword pierced through his chest before he could speak.
Blood sprayed on the ground.
Harold held the blade steady.
"I do not know why you were following me," he said calmly. "But I cannot allow it any longer ."
Flames ignited in his hand.
Robert’s body burned to ash within seconds.
Harold withdrew his sword and looked toward the horizon.
"Dragons, vampires, phoenixes, werewolves, giants," he murmured. "Let us see who wishes to join our noble cause of annihilating humanity."
He rose into the sky and disappeared.
