Chapter 76: Success And Regret

"Drip... Drip... Drip..." Blood dripped slowly from both arms.

"Thank you, Joni. Tell my older brother I’m going back to my room" Rubymera said with a flat expression and a cold tone at the entrance to the VVIP room.

"Of course, Lady Rubymera" Joni replied with a friendly smile and tidied up his furniture.

Rubymera heard footsteps and looked to her right, finding Stimuloq covered in blood. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖

"Hm? What happened to you?" Rubymera asked, with a flat expression and a cold tone.

Stimuloq stared at Rubymera blankly, then smiled, ran toward her, and hugged her, surprising her.

"I did it, Rubymera!" Stimuloq said happily.

Rubymera was silent for a few seconds, her expression both shocked and confused. She soon pushed Stimuloq away, saying,

"Get away from me!" Rubymera said with an annoyed expression and tone.

Stimuloq was pushed back a few steps.

"What’s wrong with you!?" Rubymera asked in an annoyed tone.

Stimuloq could only look confused. Rubymera pinched her nostrils with her right hand and said,

"Plus, you smell really bad!" Rubymera said with an annoyed expression.

Stimuloq was a little surprised as he sniffed his clothes.

"You’re right..." Stimuloq said with a snort.

But he soon stopped snorting.

"Ah! Forget about that!" Stimuloq said.

Stimuloq approached Rubymera again—grabbing her shoulders and saying,

"My experiment worked this time, Rubymera!" Stimuloq said happily, shaking her shoulders back and forth.

Rubymera, annoyed, pushed Stimuloq back and said,

"GEEZZZ, I told you to STAY AWAY FROM ME!!!" Rubymera shouted in annoyance.

Stimuloq was pushed a few steps back.

"You’re so mean to your older brother, Rubymera" Stimuloq said with a sad expression.

Rubymera crossed her arms over her chest.

"SO NOISY!, Tell me what you’ve been up to!?" Rubymera asked, annoyed.

Stimuloq grinned and replied.

"You know about the latest batch I’m making, right?" Stimuloq asked.

"Yes, and so?" Rubymera asked.

"We made it!" Stimuloq replied happily.

"Heee~, congrats" Rubymera said with a flat expression and rolled her eyes.

Stimuloq lost his enthusiasm.

"Why is your expression so flat?" Stimuloq asked.

Rubymera stared at him coldly.

"I see blood all over you, which makes me think you killed your guinea pig again, right?" Rubymera asked.

Stimuloq regained his composure, smiling and saying.

"Hmph! Of course not, because this time I’ve succeeded in creating a drug that can accelerate human regeneration" Stimuloq replied arrogant.

Hearing this, Rubymera lowered her gaze and put on a sad expression. Then she approached Stimuloq. When she was to his right, Rubymera said.

"Let’s stop this, brother," Rubymera said with a sad expression and tone.

"We’ve gone too far" Rubymera continued.

The atmosphere suddenly fell silent. Stimuloq, who had been happy, stood up straight and bowed his head.

"No" Stimuloq replied in a heavy tone.

Hearing this, Rubymera felt even sadder. Stimuloq walked slowly, saying.

"I will do whatever it takes to repay our parents’ kindness" Stimuloq said in a heavy tone.

Stimuloq began to put his right hand into his pocket and raised his left hand, saying.

"You don’t need to get your hands dirty—that’s my duty as an older brother" Stimuloq said.

Rubymera remained silent, clenching her fists and biting her lower lip.

"Being a guinea pig... can that be called family, Brother Stimuloq?" Rubymera thought to herself, her expression sad and holding back her anger.

Back at Julian’s side, 20:55.

The two of them were still watching the drama while eating the instant noodles they had made. Julian, having finished eating, looked out the window.

"Anindya, the rain has stopped. Do you want to go home now?" Julian asked.

Anindya ate the last of the noodles.

"Glug!"

"Yes" Anindya said flatly.

Julian looked at Anindya with a confused expression.

"What’s wrong with her? From making instant noodles together until now—why is her expression so gloomy?" Julian asked himself.

Anindya, noticing Julian’s gaze, glanced at him.

"What’s wrong?" Anindya asked.

"Eh? I-It’s nothing" Julian replied with an awkward smile.

Anindya looked ahead, then placed her bowl on the table.

"Then..." Anindya said slowly, getting up from the sofa.

"I’m want going home now" Anindya continued, standing up straight.

Julian noticed Anindya’s less than enthusiastic expression—although she was smiling.

"Okay, then wait outside my room, okay? I’m going to change" Julian said.

"Where are you going?" Anindya asked.

Julian stood up from the sofa.

"Isn’t it obvious that I’ll take you to the station?" Julian asked.

"Hehehe, thanks... you’re very considerate" Anindya said with a lackluster laugh.

After that, Anindya waited outside the room. After finishing, Julian, wearing a white t-shirt with a cute cat’s head and black trousers, left the room and locked the door.

"Hmm? Anindya?" Julian muttered with a confused expression, not finding Anindya outside his room.

As he descended the stairs, he saw Anindya playing with his Persian cat, Lily, in front of the exit.

"Ah, damn, I forgot to pick her up" Julian muttered with a worried expression.

He tried to look into the living room and found his mother, Sekar, sitting in a chair with her arms crossed over her chest and a menacing smile.

Julian was immediately startled. He then approached Sekar.

"A-anu, s-sorry, I forgot to pick up Lily, Mom" Julian said, bowing his head slightly.

Sekar glared menacingly at Julian. Julian could only lower his head regretfully. Seeing this, Sekar let out a long sigh.

"Haaaa... I’ll forgive you this time, because your girlfriend is visiting our house," Sekar said.

"Thank goodness the Pet Shop staff is willing to take her" Sekar continued.

"Th-thank you, mom" Julian said awkwardly.

"Yes, yes, you’re welcome. You can take Anindya to the station" Sekar said.

"Yes, mom!" Julian said enthusiastically.

The three of them were now in front of the gate.

"Thank you, Auntie, for lending me your kitchen. I apologize if it made a mess" Anindya said, bowing politely.

"Fufufu~, It’s okay, I’m glad you’re willing to cook for Julian," Sekar said with a friendly smile.

"Oh, that’s right. The remaining ingredients are for you, auntie" Anindya said.

"Eh, are you serious?" Sekar asked.

"Yes" Anindya replied with a sweet smile.

"But there are still a lot of ingredients left, Anindya" Sekar said with a worried expression.

"Ahahaha, it’s okay, Auntie. Just think of it as a gift for Julian, who’s sick" Anindya said.

Sekar immediately hugged Anindya.

"Kyaa~! You’re so sweet~!" Sekar said, stroking the back of Anindya’s head with her right hand.

Then, Sekar turned to Julian.

"OI, don’t hurt this girl, or I’ll beat you up!" Sekar said with an angry expression and tone.

"M-mom, I’m your kid, you know, not her..." Julian said flatly.

"DON’T DENY, JUST SAY YES!" Sekar shouted in annoyance.

Julian immediately straightened up.

"YES, MA’AM!" Julian replied.

At that, Anindya couldn’t help but chuckle. After that, Anindya said goodbye once more.

"Thank you once again, Auntie. I’ll take my leave now" Anindya said politely.

"You’re welcome. Thank you too. You’re welcome to come over anytime, even if Julian isn’t home," Sekar said kindly.

"Okay, Auntie" Anindya said with a sweet smile.

After that, the two of them started walking away from Sekar. Along the way, the wet asphalt from the rain reflected the streetlights. The night air was cold and damp. Along the way, Julian glanced at Anindya. Her face looked normal, but he could sense she wasn’t in the mood. Curious, Julian asked.

"Anindya" Julian called.

"Hmm? What’s wrong, Julian?" Anindya asked, looking at him.

"Why have you been looking so gloomy?" Julian asked.

Anindya looked back ahead and answered.

"You can see it, huh?" Anindya asked quietly.

"Yes" Julian answered honestly.

"You’re usually talkative" Julian continued.

Anindya smiled slightly, then looked down at the wet asphalt beneath her feet.

"I’m... just tired" Anindya replied.

"Seriously?" Julian asked.

"Yes" Anindya replied.

"Then," Julian said.

Julian looked ahead.

"You should rest when you get home," Julian continued.

"Yes, you’re right" Anindya said with a gloomy expression.

Wednesday, 14 August, 2080, 09:57, Mataram Vocational High School.

"That night... I should have encouraged her" Julian thought to himself, staring at Anindya’s empty desk in the classroom—during the first break.
