My Game's NPC Girlfriend Has Come To The Real World-Chapter 45 - 44: You’re Finished!
Chapter 45 - 44: You're Finished!
Since I'm going to die, what kind of death should I choose?
Jumping off a building?
That's the simplest and most direct method, but the thought of my body smashing into the ground and turning into a bloody mess makes my whole body ache.
Let's try something else. That's too intense.
What about sleeping pills?
The moment this thought popped into my head, Xu Mo dismissed it. If he didn't die and ended up having his stomach pumped, it would be worse than death.
How about carbon monoxide poisoning?
Wait...
No!
Suddenly, Gao Liyuan's words flashed through Xu Mo's mind.
"I left the item in a storage locker near Jinyun Road Subway Station. You'd better come get it tomorrow or the day after."
"Tomorrow?"
"Alright, but hurry. It won't be good if someone finds it."
"Okay, the locker code is 378554."
This was the conversation Xu Mo had overheard while monitoring Gao Liyuan. At the time, he thought it was suspicious and didn't investigate further. But now, it didn't matter. Since he was going to die anyway, whether Gao Liyuan was setting a trap or not was irrelevant.
If he wasn't afraid of death, why should he fear Gao Liyuan?
With this in mind, Xu Mo closed his laptop, stuffed it into his backpack, and tossed it onto the passenger seat. Then he set his GPS for Jinyun Road Subway Station and drove off in his Cadillac.
---
The mall near Jinyun Road Subway Station was Yida Plaza, a large, bustling shopping center with a constant flow of people coming and going. The road outside the mall was equally busy, with cars stopping and starting in a steady stream.
On the side of the road, a black Honda was parked.
Inside the car, a figure sat in the driver's seat, a cigarette in one hand and a phone in the other.
"No, I haven't seen him."
"Could it be that the conversation was too obvious and caught his attention?"
"Got it."
Meanwhile, Xu Mo parked his Cadillac in the lot across from the mall. He slung his backpack over his shoulder, glanced at the mall across the street, and then crossed the pedestrian walkway.
A few minutes later, Xu Mo stood in front of the storage lockers on the first floor of Yida Plaza, waiting for a young woman to finish entering her code and retrieve her item.
Once she was done, Xu Mo stepped up to the locker.
"Please enter your retrieval code."
Xu Mo tapped in the numbers: 378554.
Click!
One of the locker doors popped open.
Xu Mo walked over and peered inside. There was a beautifully wrapped box, like a gift box.
What could be inside something wrapped so nicely?
He picked up the box, walked to the side, and opened it. His eyes narrowed.
The first thing he saw was a tube of lipstick.
Xu Mo was all too familiar with this lipstick—he had tampered with it before.
The fact that the lipstick was here meant that Gao Liyuan had discovered his surveillance!
When did she find out?
Xu Mo was surprised. He looked at the other items in the box.
Along with the lipstick was a piece of paper with a drawing of a pig's head. Next to the pig's head was an arrow pointing to a line of text:
"You're finished!"
Damn it.
Gao Liyuan was definitely setting a trap.
Xu Mo immediately scanned his surroundings. There were many people around, but they all seemed like ordinary shoppers. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary.
He then looked at the nearby security cameras.
If he were Gao Liyuan, the most likely move would be to monitor the situation through the cameras. Of course, it might not be these specific cameras, but there had to be something nearby that could observe the storage lockers.
This woman was full of tricks.
Finding no clues here, Xu Mo left the storage locker area and headed back to his car.
As he walked toward the pedestrian crossing, preparing to cross the road...
A blinding pair of headlights suddenly pierced his vision, followed by the blaring of a car horn.
Honk! Honk! Honk!
A black Honda, seemingly out of control, barreled toward him at high speed.
"Ah!"
Before Xu Mo could scream, the nearby pedestrians shouted in panic.
"Run!"
Before anyone could react...
Crash!
A loud collision echoed as Xu Mo was sent flying through the air. He hit the ground hard, rolling several times before coming to a stop.
"An accident!"
"That was terrifying!"
"Is that guy okay?"
The crowd erupted into chaos, everyone talking at once.
Among the crowd, a graceful figure in high heels ran toward Xu Mo, shouting, "Someone call 120!"
She knelt beside Xu Mo, her voice soft as she asked, "Can you speak?"
Xu Mo felt excruciating pain throughout his body, as if he had been torn apart by brute force. He tried to open his eyes but could barely manage a sliver. His breathing was labored, and he struggled to draw air. With great effort, he managed to move his eyes.
The first thing he saw was a pair of shapely, pale legs bent at the knees. He strained to look up.
The next moment, he saw the woman's face.
"Oh, little handsome, I feel so bad for you. How could you be so naive? I said there was something in the storage locker, and you actually believed me? In your next life, don't trust women so easily, especially beautiful ones. Got it?"
Seeing Xu Mo's weak, almost lifeless gaze, the woman whispered softly.
Hearing this, Xu Mo managed a bitter smile. "Heh... heh..."
The smile caught the woman off guard.
She clearly hadn't expected Xu Mo to still be able to smile in this condition.
"What are you laughing at?"
"Cough... cough..." Xu Mo coughed up blood, forcing out an ugly smile. "I... I was just thinking... about... what kind of death... I should choose... to kill myself. Now... I don't have to... do it myself. Thanks... to you."
"You're insane!"

The woman was completely stunned, struggling to process Xu Mo's words.
The next moment, she heard Xu Mo's barely audible voice.
"The... the photo of Lin An'an... was you, right?"
The woman—Gao Liyuan—didn't respond. Then she heard Xu Mo's fading voice.
"No... no, I mean... the Lin An'an in that photo... wasn't Lin An'an... it was you."
"You're so clever."
At this point, Gao Liyuan finally spoke. "So it really was you who broke into the villa. What am I going to do with you? Why did you have to be so curious about my identity? It doesn't matter now—you're a dead man anyway. What good does it do you to find out?"
"You... you..."
Xu Mo was barely able to speak, his breath fading.
Gao Liyuan noticed that Xu Mo, with a bloodied finger, was tremblingly drawing a pig's head on the road. Then he managed to finish his sentence.
"You're finished!"
With that, Xu Mo's head tilted to the side, and he went completely still.
Dead!
Seeing the pig's head Xu Mo had drawn before dying—clearly mimicking the one she had drawn on the paper—Gao Liyuan's eyebrows twitched uncontrollably. For some reason, she felt a sense of unease.
Gao Liyuan took a deep breath.
Damn it.
Why am I scared of what a dead man said?
This bastard, even in death, his mouth was still tough.
