My Five Bigshot Seniors: I am The Most Coddled Junior!-Chapter 355 - 35: Going Down the Mountain [Second Update]
After joining the Langya Immortal Sect, Gu Qingqing and their lives remained relatively peaceful, mostly spent on cultivation, with occasional visits to the workshops. The only notable event was the news about Song Xinrong.
Song Xinrong was a well-known figure in the Langya Immortal Sect. Since entering the sect, she had been dedicated to developing her admirer group, using every method possible to attract the outstanding young disciples, hoping they would fall for her.
Among them, some, like Lou Mingyu and others, were completely unaffected and didn’t even spare her a glance. Yet, there were those like Zhong Hanyang who were infatuated with her due to her looks and idolized her.
Regardless, she became quite famous in the Langya Immortal Sect. Some disciples even claimed she was the most beautiful woman in the sect. Although some female disciples were dissatisfied with Song Xinrong’s behavior, they also admitted that she was indeed good-looking, which spread her reputation even further.
Of course, this was mainly because Gu Qingqing and the others were too low-key, so only a few had seen Gu Qingqing and knew that she was even prettier than Song Xinrong.
After a month, Gu Qingqing, Jun Wu, Nan Hua, and Mu Chen were all focused on cultivation, finally reaching the Peak of Heavenly Immortal, one step away from entering the True Immortal Realm.
The four of them discussed and decided to leave the mountain for training, to find opportunities for a breakthrough.
Besides, they also wanted to find Si Lin and the others. After their ascension, the Communication Talismans they used before could no longer work, resulting in only the four of them being together, with no news from the others.
Previously, because their cultivation level was too low, they didn’t dare to wander around for fear of encountering trouble. Now that they finally had some ability to protect themselves, they naturally wanted to look for Si Lin and the others.
After reaching a consensus on the direction of their strength, they each went to speak with their respective mentors.
"You’ve only been here for a month; going out for training seems a bit early," Immortal Venerable Hao Lan initially wanted to stop him but paused when considering Gu Qingqing’s cultivation level, "but given your cultivation now, going out once might be good."
"Don’t worry, Master, this disciple will definitely keep safe and not let any harm come to myself." Gu Qingqing quickly assured to put Immortal Venerable Hao Lan at ease.
In the month since becoming disciples, Immortal Venerable Hao Lan had taken great care of Gu Qingqing, considering all aspects and helping Gu Qingqing a lot, allowing her to avoid many detours.
Gu Qingqing felt very grateful and respectful towards Immortal Venerable Hao Lan in her heart.
After some interaction, she discovered that although Immortal Venerable Hao Lan’s demeanor resembled that of Wen Guiyun, he was actually quite different. Wen Guiyun’s approach to disciples was more laissez-faire, only managing in general directions and allowing freedom to develop otherwise, unlike Immortal Venerable Hao Lan who sincerely wished to think of everything for his disciples and constantly cared for them.
Besides, whenever he liked someone, he couldn’t help but nag, and in a never-ending way that was hard for many to bear.
When Lou Mingyu initially told her this, she was skeptical, but after experiencing it once or twice recently, Gu Qingqing grew entirely wary and dared not give Immortal Venerable Hao Lan the chance to start.
"It just so happens your senior brother also wants to go out, let him accompany you and ensure your safety," Immortal Venerable Hao Lan thought for a moment, remaining somewhat uneasy, and pulled Lou Mingyu into the mix.
Lou Mingyu had stayed in the Langya Immortal Sect for a month this time, the longest he had spent there in recent years. He had just been disturbed by Immortal Venerable Hao Lan’s nagging a few days before and was preparing to leave for training. Now that Gu Qingqing also intended to depart, Immortal Venerable Hao Lan wouldn’t miss the opportunity to recruit Lou Mingyu as a helpful brother. Moreover, it provided a chance for them to strengthen their sibling bond.
"Won’t this trouble Brother Lou too much?" Gu Qingqing hesitated for a moment.
In this past month, she had become quite familiar with Lou Mingyu and understood his character; he wasn’t entirely unfeeling, showing concern beyond just his sword to Immortal Venerable Hao Lan and even for Gu Qingqing due to them being from the same sect.
Of course, he remained very indifferent and gave no face to those not acknowledged by him, like Song Xinrong, for whom he had no sympathy whatsoever.
"Trouble? He is your senior brother; taking you out for training is perfectly normal," Immortal Venerable Hao Lan gave a stare, evidently dissatisfied with Lou Mingyu’s previous actions.
Gu Qingqing stuck her tongue out, lowering her head and staying silent.
Lou Mingyu was soon called over by Immortal Venerable Hao Lan, and seeing Gu Qingqing present, he appeared slightly surprised, raising an eyebrow.
"Master, you called for me?" He stood upright before Immortal Venerable Hao Lan, asking respectfully.
"Geng Geng wants to go out for training. I thought you were going too, so it’s perfect for you to take Geng Geng and the others and fulfill your duty as a senior brother." Immortal Venerable Hao Lan cleared his throat and spoke assertively.
Upon hearing this, Lou Mingyu looked toward Gu Qingqing, signaling to inquire. Upon seeing Gu Qingqing nod, a hint of surprise flickered in his eyes. Seeing Immortal Venerable Hao Lan waiting for his response, he nodded, "Sure, I have no problem with it."
This brief interaction made him realize that Gu Qingqing was unlike other women he had met before—not troublesome and within his tolerance. Besides, she was his junior sister, with whom he shared a close relationship, making him willing to bring Gu Qingqing along for training.
Seeing his agreement, Immortal Venerable Hao Lan was very pleased, a trace of a smile flashing in his eyes.
"Then, discuss with Geng Geng when you will set off. I’ll leave Geng Geng in your hands and won’t interfere further," Immortal Venerable Hao Lan instructed next.
"Don’t worry, Master, I’ll take good care of Junior Sister," Lou Mingyu immediately assured upon reading Immortal Venerable Hao Lan’s expression.
"That’s more like it. You two go discuss then." Immortal Venerable Hao Lan, even more pleased, waved them off.
"Disciple takes their leave."
Gu Qingqing and Lou Mingyu left the cave mansion together. After the door closed behind them, they exchanged glances, with Gu Qingqing offering Lou Mingyu a smile.
"Junior Sister, when do you plan to set off? Where do you intend to go for training?" Lou Mingyu took Immortal Venerable Hao Lan’s instructions seriously and directly asked Gu Qingqing.
"We have not yet discussed the training location, mainly due to unfamiliarity with the Immortal Realm’s conditions. Does Senior Brother have any good suggestions?" Gu Qingqing considered Lou Mingyu’s seriousness and gave it some thought.
"You’re planning this trip to breakthrough in cultivation, right?" Lou Mingyu, with higher cultivation than Gu Qingqing, could discern she was on the verge of a breakthrough, making the training purpose quite apparent.
