Chapter 15: Chapter 15: Time to Get a Girlfriend

Separated by the crowd and a half-hidden, carved screen, in a dimly lit corner, Celia Sterling couldn’t quite make out Silas Norwood’s face.

But some people possess such a unique aura that you can recognize them from a distance.

Kian Sterling followed her gaze and teased, "What, you’ve taken a liking to that ’unattainable flower’?"

"No." Celia Sterling’s eyes fell on Silas Norwood’s minimalist white shirt. He stood amidst the bustling crowd, yet he exuded a cool, detached, almost ascetic air, as if untouched by the mortal world.

’But the man I’m looking for was wearing a dark purple shirt, almost black.’

’Or maybe it was a vibrant, galaxy-purple like the one Kian is wearing. The hallway lights outside the dressing room were dim, so it would be normal for my eyes to play tricks on me.’

’But no matter how bad the lighting was, could purple really look white?’

Celia Sterling quickly looked away, her bright eyes continuing to scan the room.

As the grand banquet was drawing to a close, Silas Norwood left again.

In the hotel garden’s parking lot, his assistant, Theo Chambers, personally opened the rear door for Silas Norwood. He carefully folded the dark purple shirt Silas had changed out of and asked in a low voice:

"Boss, should I give this shirt to Assistant Thorne?"

Silas Norwood had an appalling obsession with cleanliness when it came to his personal belongings. Assistant Thorne was one of his personal assistants, specializing in disposing of items he no longer used to prevent them from falling into the hands of obsessive admirers to be hoarded or profaned.

Normally, if an item was stained with red wine, tea, or any other impurity, no matter how thoroughly it was cleaned, a man of his status would never use it again.

But this shirt was special.

His aunt, a fashion designer in Valenza, had personally designed it for her nephew. They hadn’t seen each other in years. Silas Norwood, who exclusively wore black, white, and other cool tones, couldn’t bring himself to refuse his elder’s gesture. Since it coincided with the Sterling family’s eldest daughter’s coming-of-age ceremony, he decided to wear it out.

He just hadn’t expected it to get dirty the very first time he wore it.

"No need. I’ll handle it myself," Silas Norwood replied casually.

Theo Chambers thought, ’It was a gift from an elder, after all; throwing it away would be improper.’ "Should I have it professionally cleaned and returned to you then?"

Silas Norwood recalled the girl’s soft hand recklessly pulling his shirt as she dragged him into the dressing room. Even through the fabric, the memory of her light, feather-like grip was vivid.

And the thought of the scenery above her waist, beneath that diamond-studded zipper...

Silas Norwood abruptly cut off his train of thought and said flatly, "Don’t clean it. Just give it to me as is."

After that, Theo Chambers never saw that shirt again.

However, Silas Norwood was a man of high status, accustomed to all sorts of worldly temptations. He wasn’t the type to be easily seduced by a mere zipper.

「Six months after the coming-of-age banquet, the two of them crossed paths again by a twist of fate.」

By then, Declan Norwood was pursuing Celia Sterling quite intensely. He bought her favorite coffee shop, filled it with a sea of roses, put on his sexiest outfit, and coaxed Celia over, planning to make their relationship official.

Somehow, word of this reached Kian Sterling’s ears.

The overprotective brother, Kian Sterling, immediately made a grand gesture, calling over several top-tier male models from nearby high-end clubs. He then had his bodyguards toss Declan Norwood out. Biting down on a cigarette, his features looked striking as he said:

"Cece, come to your big bro. I’ll let you have a taste of something new, so you don’t get snatched away by any random riffraff."

There were seven or eight male models, each with eight-pack abs and long legs. Some were skilled in sweet-talking, some oozed sex appeal, and some had a full-on "doting husband" vibe...

Celia Sterling was surrounded like a queen bee, awkwardly yet curiously enjoying the fawning attention from the top-tier models. The flirtatious atmosphere, combined with a strange sense of nervousness and excitement, made her dizzy, and she ended up drinking a few more glasses of fruit wine than she’d intended.

Kian Sterling sat to the side with a lazy expression, neither interrupting nor leaving. He was well aware of men’s baser instincts. ’These male models, all trying to charm their way into her good graces, might be harboring ambitions to climb the social ladder. Cece is naive. I have to keep an eye on her.’

After nearly two hours of this decadent scene, even the inexperienced Celia Sterling found her ears ringing from all the flowery words, and a look of weariness crept onto her face.

Kian Sterling’s devilishly handsome face seemed to curve into a faint smile behind his red glazed cup, his voice indulgent:

"Cece, what do you think? Has Declan Norwood’s face lost its charm now?"

"Bro, I want to go home," Celia Sterling pleaded.

A smile played on Kian Sterling’s lips as he casually tossed his car keys to the bodyguard waiting at the door.

The bodyguard left to get the car. Celia Sterling stood up as well. "Bro, wait for me here. I’m going to the restroom."

But it was at this moment that the delayed effects of the fruit wine kicked in.

After using the restroom, she started walking back, dizzy. Her vision was blurring. Relying on memory, she pushed open a door and staggered into someone’s arms.

Silas Norwood rarely drank coffee.

His workload had been heavy recently. After a round of golf with a few other CEOs, he happened to be passing by this coffee shop—said to be one of the most authentic freshly-ground coffee places in Metropia—and decided on a whim to stop in for a short break.

He hadn’t even finished his coffee when a girl came in and took advantage of him.

He gestured for his approaching bodyguards to stay back.

Then, his amber eyes, deep and unreadable, looked down at the girl nestled in his arms. "Miss Sterling."

Celia Sterling lifted her face, her hazy eyes fixing on Silas Norwood’s. She stared blankly for a moment. "Did my brother get me a new model?"

Silas Norwood: "..."

Celia Sterling was already reaching up, brazenly trying to touch his face, but her hand was stopped by Silas Norwood’s large, well-defined one. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖

"Celia Sterling," he said, enunciating each word, his voice like the clinking of jade stones. "Look clearly. Who am I?"

Celia Sterling stared at him for a while, a dazed look in her almond-shaped eyes. "This one’s good. Better than all the others from before combined... His voice is nice, and he’s... really easy on the eyes."

’Not tiring at all. Clean and cool, like my favorite Glazed Cup. He makes me want to take a bite.’

And as if possessed, she really did bite him.

Silas Norwood, who was still holding her soft, slender wrist to keep her from acting up, was caught off guard when the girl suddenly lunged forward. Her cherry-red lips bit down brazenly on his lower lip. It was painful, yet strangely numbing.

Silas Norwood didn’t push her away.

He sat perfectly still on the sofa, his amber eyes watching the girl in his arms, his expression unreadable.

After several seconds, Celia Sterling groggily pulled back. Half-sprawled on top of him, she murmured, "Cold... and sweet."

There was already movement from the room next door.

Kian Sterling had been waiting for a while. Feeling uneasy, he was already telling his bodyguards to go look for her in the restroom.

Silas Norwood reached out, lifted Celia Sterling into his arms, and handed her to his bodyguard at the door. "Take her next door."

The private room’s door closed again. Silas Norwood looked at his aromatic coffee. The strange sensation on his lips lingered, and even his cold, hard heart felt an indescribable tingle.

He suddenly lost all desire to stay.

After Kian Sterling’s large group noisily departed from next door, Silas Norwood gazed impassively at the large, vibrant bouquets of roses outside the coffee shop and made a call to Theo Chambers.

"Compile a list of all the eligible socialites in Metropia. Pick out the suitable ones and arrange for me to meet them."

Theo Chambers was so surprised his voice cracked. "Boss?"

Silas Norwood lowered his gaze, toying with the thumb ring on his finger, his voice elegant and calm:

"It’s about time I got a girlfriend."
