My Favorite Game Followed Me!-Chapter 675
Chapter 675
Anton breathed in the beauty of the world under the ocean. The main reason he wanted to return was because of the incredible, enchanting surroundings that make up the underwater world. The different fish that swam looked like glittering jewels. The swaying, colorful sea plants and corals brought forth the thought of seeing an alien environment like one of those films wherein the protagonist visited an alien planet.
Before he proceeded deep into the ocean, Anton did not want to get lost, so he made sure that he knew the direction of the land using one of the compasses that he had in his inventory.
The fact that his underwater breathing spell allowed him to breathe and thrive in the environment brought forth a massive enjoyment that truly allowed him to feel a serenity in his very being. It brought forth a pervading calm since he knew that he was alone in this world where he could enjoy the view without any man disturbing the peace.
The underwater world was not tame. Far from it. The sea was full of different species, both predators and prey, and this had been the way of nature from the beginning. What made Anton comfortable was the thought that since he was still near the land, there were no predators that could threaten him. If he were being honest, even if he swam deep into the ocean, there were very few natural creatures that could threaten him. Possibly only the largest of creatures or the magical water species could do so, and they usually live very far away, isolated from ordinary ocean animals.
Anton started swimming. Even if he saw sea creatures that were considered edible, even rare, and delicious, he did not bother them and just watched them. The main reason for his diving deep was to explore and see the beauty of the underwater world, and not to hunt. He behaved like an ordinary, curious fish, swimming leisurely, checking out any curiosity that he discovered.
There were some instances in which some predators, like barracudas and small sharks, attacked him, but Anton’s defenses were too great for him to get wounded from such an ordinary attack, so he just ignored them and did not even retaliate. He just viewed the attackers with amusement, who gave up soon once the animals discovered that he could not be damaged by their bites.
He did find some curious treasures like clams with pearls or some isolated sculpture that Anton had no idea how it got there. He retrieved the pearls using his Telekinesis, trying his best not to harm the clams, then he moved on.
After a few hours of swimming, he even stumbled onto some sunken small ships, most likely from fishermen who were caught by a sudden storm or something. The ships did not contain any treasure, and most did not even contain any skeletons of the crew, but based on the remaining items in the ships, most of them were ancient.
He just kept on swimming, but slowly, because he did not have any specific purpose, just sightseeing. He remembered that short song that came from one of his favorite movies, which was Finding Nemo. It was the one that the fish Dory kept singing, which was “just keep swimming,”. He mentally chanted it in his mind.
When noon arrived, Anton did not even stop, and just kept on swimming. Based on a quick count, he was six hours away from New Drennor, but he did not care. Since he swam slowly, he knew that he was still not far from land.

Anton did not even know how deep he was since he was stuck to the seabed. At the very least, he thought that he was not too deep since there was still light coming from above, and he could still see the surrounding area.
He was hoping that he would stumble into another sunken ship filled with treasure, not because he needed the wealth, but because it was exciting. Unfortunately, he found none of that. He also hoped that he would meet some intelligent or even semi-intelligent friendly species like the pink dolphins and the blue whales, but his luck was horrible that day, and he did not meet any. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
A huge octopus did attack him, but it was just a normal marine animal. He thought about keeping it for food, but a quick search on the internet mentioned that something as large as the one that attacked him was not delicious, so he did not kill it and just shooed it, and the creature promptly ran after it was wounded by one of Anton’s Ice Bolts.
When Anton checked the time in his browser inside his Diablo II system, it said that it was already around four in the afternoon. That meant that he had less than a couple of hours before he needed to go back to land to rest.
Suddenly, three beings appeared that greatly startled Anton. It was elves. Short elves. There were three of them, and based on what he could see, they were probably what one would call sea elves because they had webbing between their fingers.
They appeared non-threatening, so Anton did not do anything drastic and just waited for them. The three elves stared at him, and after around five minutes, one of them waved at him to follow them. Anton was curious enough that he did so.
They led him into an underwater mountain into what looked like an opening to a cave. The three elves entered without hesitation, even though the opening looked dark and uninviting. Anton followed them. One of the elves cast a light spell, and soon the cave was bright enough to be seen.
The cave was a tunnel, and the three elves kept on swimming. Anton followed them, and since the elves were fast swimmers, he had to use Telekinesis to move himself to avoid getting left behind. Anton was not even swimming anymore; he was pushing himself with his spell.
Anton saw an opening in the ceiling ahead, and the three elves climbed it, so he followed them. Once he did, he saw that they were inside an extremely huge cavern. The hole in the ceiling looked like a water hole.
Thankfully, the elves spoke the common language.
“Human, what are you doing deep in the water? Do you have a specific purpose?” the female elf asked.
“I have no goal. I just want to admire the beauty of the world deep underwater,” Anton replied.
“We believe you. We have been observing you for hours, and the only thing you did was admire the scenery. You did not even capture the fish that humans considered delicacies, and just admired them as well. Even the predators that attack you just left, frustrated that they could not damage you, while you watch them with amusement on your face. When you gathered the small number of pearls that you found, you did not even hurt the clams. When you found some sunken ships, you did not exhibit any frustration when you found that there was no treasure inside. My name is Barathol, this is my cousin, Xenopehelle, and this is my brother Cravonille,” the second elf said.
“My name is Anton Sunder. I’m a powerful wizard, and I’m confident enough in my magic to believe that no creature could harm me when I’m near New Drennor. I assume that I’m still near the kingdom since I’ve been swimming slowly enough. As I’ve said, my main goal was to see the view under the ocean, and there was no need to rush. This is the last day of my week of vacation, and tomorrow, I’ll be spending my time fighting the undead, so I thought that before I beheld that horror that was my enemy, I would spend my time viewing beauty, to make sure that I will not forget the reason that I’m fighting is to preserve the beauty of the world. I consider the undead unnatural, so in my opinion, it's my duty to make sure that the surrounding environment is protected from such horror,” Anton said, and he almost cringed at what he had said.
