My Exclusive Dream World Adventures-Chapter 74 - 0 Trauma
Chapter 74: 074 Trauma
“Collapsed from illness?”
Chen Xu’s first reaction was disbelief. His experiences in the first dream, getting soaked in the rain with Luo Xiyun and passing out in a frozen snowy landscape, had never resulted in illness. He had speculated that it must be an implicit rule that one cannot get sick in a dream.
He asked, “Don’t you have a medical system there?”
From his last contact with S01, this robot always answered questions, and if it couldn’t, it would plainly state that the matter was confidential and could not be disclosed. There was no reason for it to lie about something like this.
S01 said, “We do, but our medical system is powerless against her condition.”
Chen Xu frowned, “Could it be a terminal illness?”
To randomly pull someone off the street with a terminal illness? Isn’t that a bit too dramatic?
Moreover, an incurable terminal illness even in this high-tech world.
He was very skeptical; she didn’t look ill from what he saw typically. And what were the odds that she’d fall ill just after they parted?
There were too many doubts; he found it hard to believe.
As he pondered, S01 said, “The medical system has diagnosed it as Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.”
Psychological trauma?
Chen Xu was somewhat dazed. He hadn’t done anything to her, so where did this psychological trauma come from?
S01 continued, “Her condition is not good; the medical system has detected her vital signs continuously weakening. The system suggests that someone familiar with her take care of her; it may help to bring her around.”
“Oh, I understand now.”
Chen Xu was still a bit dazed when the screen was already turned off from the other end. He stared at the “Communication Ended” notice before him, unable to react for a long time.
Next to him, 2003 asked quietly, “Chen Xu, did something happen to Sister Xia?”
“I can’t quite say.”
Chen Xu shook his head, choosing not to share the details.
He still couldn’t believe that someone as adaptable as Xia Jinse could suffer from a psychological disorder so severe that it threatened her life.
After a while, he finally couldn’t ignore his concern and sighed, “Let’s go, let’s go back and see.”
“That’s great!” 2003 exclaimed joyfully, dashing to the driver’s seat, “I’ll drive.”
……………………..
……….Temporal Divider…………..
“…Once we get to the next refuge, we’ll part ways. After that, you take your broad road, and I’ll cross my log bridge.”
“You’ve never really taken me seriously in your heart, have you?”
Yang Jinxia stood at the entrance of the corridor, expressionless, as she watched the transport vehicle drive away, Chen Xu’s previous words echoing in her ears.
He just left like that.
Without a single moment of hesitation.
Is he brain dead?
I’ve already apologized, I’ve said I’m willing to make it up, to do anything he wanted.
And he just dismisses it like that?
Am I not pretty enough?
No, he must be a damn homosexual.
The source of this c𝓸ntent is freewebnøvel.coɱ.
A brain-dead homosexual.
…
Anger surged to the brim of her heart, ready to explode.
Go ahead, get lost, far away.
At this moment, the corridor plunged into total darkness, and the transport vehicle vanished from her sight.
Hum—
Suddenly, a vibrating sound filled her ears, and the scenery quivered slightly.
The entire world seemed to be moving away from her.
“Jinxia, are you very angry?” An all too familiar voice sounded beside her.
She turned, only to see Xiao Ya in a white blouse, still with her youthful teenage appearance, and that irritating smirk on her face.
“Don’t be like that, he’s blind to your beauty; there are plenty of men out there who would love you.” Her voice was still soft and lovely to hear.
Yang Jinxia watched her quietly, saying nothing.
Xiao Ya took steps towards her, her smile growing more radiant, “It’s been so long since we last saw each other, did you miss me?”
“Ma’am.”
A very abrupt voice came through.
“Ma’am.”
This time the voice was clearer.
In an instant, the scene in front of Yang Jinxia shattered bit by bit, Xiao Ya’s smile froze and shattered into pieces, fading into nothingness.
Before her was once again the pitch-black corridor.
She looked up to see a metallic head, its eyeholes shining with two points of bright green light, asking, “What’s up?”
S01 said, “Let me take you to your room.”
“Okay.”
Yang Jinxia followed behind it, its cold metal body reflecting the dim light, devoid of any human warmth.
Faintly, she sensed another set of footsteps behind her.
Minutes later, S01 stopped at a door and said, “This is it.”
“Thank you.”
She walked in, then suddenly halted, asking, “You have a way to contact Chen Xu, don’t you?”
It said, “Yes, that personal terminal is essentially a communicator.”
Yang Jinxia said, “I hope you can promise me one thing.”
“Please say.”
Her hand pressed against the door frame, she said, “If I die, please let him know.”
S01’s green eyes flickered briefly, seemingly puzzled by the request, but agreed, “All right.”
“Thank you.” She walked in, the door automatically closing behind her, cutting her off from the outside robot.
Once again, the world was left with only her.
“Jinxia, this is my boyfriend; isn’t he handsome?”
Once more, Xiao Ya’s gentle voice echoed.
“Let’s go for a picnic this weekend, with my boyfriend. You’re not coming? No, my mom would never agree… so that’s settled. You’ll pick me up at my house on the weekend.”
“…Don’t be fooled by her stern facade; in her heart, she’s a bit of a pervert. She’s definitely eavesdropping on us right now… Look at her, her ears are all red…”
“…I’ll tell you, her whole family is weird, her grandma actually… and her mother too… so what if she hears… hehe, let’s go, we’ll go over there, shhh, don’t let her know… just the two of us…”
Swoosh—
Suddenly, a heavy rain poured from the sky.
Cold.
In a daze, her feet tripped, and she tumbled down the hillside, falling into a pit, pitch-black before her eyes.
It hurts.
Where am I?
It’s so dark, I can’t see anything.
Is there anybody there?
Xiao Ya, where are you?
Grandma… Mother…
Someone, please…
Who will save me?
Anybody, please save me…
Cold… so cold…
