My Exclusive Dream World Adventures-Chapter 72 - 0 Chatterbox Mode
Chapter 72: 072 Chatterbox Mode
Chen Xu controlled the transport vehicle, slowly rolling out of the passage. Through the rearview camera, he saw Yang Jinxia standing there. As the vehicle moved forward, her figure became smaller and smaller until gradually, it blurred out of sight.
“Chen Xu, are we really going to leave her behind all alone?” came a soft, somewhat uneasy voice from the passenger seat.
Chen Xu glanced at 2003, feeling that it had become more and more humanized recently. He remembered when he first encountered it, it was just like S01—straight-laced and indifferent to people’s concerns.
“I’m hungry, make me something to eat,” he said.
“…Alright.”
2003 unbuckled its safety belt, got up from the seat, went to the back, grabbed a small pot, poured some water, and after boiling it, added some noodles.
As it continued its task without pause, it said, “Sister Xia likes the seafood noodles I make the most. She won’t be able to eat them anymore. She must find that hard to get used to, right?”
“In this shelter, I wonder if there’s another chef robot with the same model as me. If there isn’t, and she dislikes cooking, then it’s bad news. Is she going to eat those awful nutrient meals from now on?”
“Sister Xia is really pitiable…”
The more Chen Xu listened, the stranger he found it; he couldn’t help interrupting, “You didn’t talk this much before. How come you’ve become so talkative? And since when do you call her Sister Xia?”
2003 explained, “Sister Xia said it was too boring in the shelter, rarely having anyone to talk to. She found my responses too brief, so she switched me to a more lively mode. She also told me to call her Sister Xia when no one else is around.”
Hearing this, Chen Xu was surprised to learn about this side of her for the first time.
Right, to wake up and find oneself in this apocalypse, where parents, family, friends, and all familiar things had vanished—it made sense that despite appearing strong in front of him, she must feel loneliness and vulnerability when alone.
He thought to himself and then remarked, “Sounds more like a chatterbox mode to me, with all the nonsense you’re spouting.”
During their conversation, the vehicle had exited the passage and was now outside.
Chen Xu drove the vehicle beyond the perimeter wall and stopped only then, allowing 2003 to take the wheel while he ate his noodles from the passenger seat.
He had to admit, the seafood noodles made by 2003 were indeed delicious. Even for someone like him who usually didn’t care much for noodles, he found them savoury and irresistible, the noodles perfectly al dente and the broth flavorful; he couldn’t stop eating.
Before long, he had devoured a large bowl of noodles to the last strand.
2003 drove slowly and asked, “Where are we going next?”
“Head to Shelter C332. I’ve already entered the location into the navigator; just follow the route.”
After finishing his meal, Chen Xu set aside his bowl and chopsticks and cautioned, “Focus on driving, I’m going to take a rest.” Then, he adjusted the backrest to a more comfortable angle and lay back. He turned on his personal terminal and started browsing through the information.
The data provided by S01 was even richer, containing not only foundation theoretical knowledge like the “Knowledge Seed Project” but also a lot of specific technical materials.
Out of curiosity, he first looked through these new technical documents but after a while, felt that this information was not very valuable to him.
All the items described there required core components made from special alloys with certain codes, but there was no information about these special alloys here.
Especially electronics—full of chip models and various professional terms. He was bewildered by it all. Without the corresponding base technologies, the possibility of manufacturing these high-tech items was practically nil.
Of course, after a month of studying, he had anticipated this result. The more advanced the technology, the more numerous and specialized its branches became.
With the level of development in this world, mastering a tiny branch of a field was impossible—even spending a lifetime studying wouldn’t suffice.
Chen Xu had only a few months, so even with ceaseless study, day and night, he wouldn’t retain much. Mainly, his foundation was too weak; he had studied business administration in university and had long since returned his science knowledge back to his teachers.
By comparison, though more tedious, those basic theoretical concepts held more value for him because he didn’t need to memorize them completely, just understand the concepts.
“If only the items from the dream could be brought out…” he lamented inwardly.
Until now, he still didn’t fully understand the functions of this device. That system intelligence that could answer questions seemed to have gone offline since his last dream ended and hadn’t appeared since.
He had to figure it out on his own. Even if there were hidden features, they were hard to find.
After several hours, he grew increasingly sleepy, turned off the terminal, and reminded 2003 to wake him up if there was any danger. Then he sat in the passenger seat, closed his eyes, and slept.
…
The next day, when Chen Xu woke up, he saw daylight outside, and the vehicle was parked in an open space.

2003 wasn’t in the vehicle. He stretched lazily and stepped out of the car. He saw it was by a fire behind the vehicle, busy with something.
Yawning, he walked over and asked, “Why have we stopped here?”
“The road ahead isn’t very smooth. I was worried the vehicle would get bumpy,” it replied.
Chen Xu was suddenly grateful that he had brought 2003 along. Such a considerate robot was truly a must-have companion for home and travel alike.
It would be great if he could take it with him in every dream—not only did it cook delicious food, but it also took thorough care of him.
Seeing it continually feeding the fire with wood, he asked curiously, “What are you doing?”
“I saw we had some time, so I went down to make a beggar’s chicken. Sister Xia taught me how to make it. She really likes this dish,” 2003 replied.
Chen Xu squatted down beside it, looking at the fire and said, “Just how much useless stuff did she teach you?”
2003 objected, “Nothing Sister Xia taught me is useless.”
Chen Xu couldn’t help but laugh, “You’re really becoming more and more like a human. From last night until now, how often have you mentioned your Sister Xia? You two must be really close.”
“I just feel that Sister Xia must really need us.”
Chen Xu picked up a stick, broke it with force, and threw it into the fire, chuckling self-deprecatingly, “She might need you, but that certainly doesn’t include me.”
“That’s not true,” 2003 responded. “Sister Xia brings you up whatever she does.”
Chen Xu paused his actions, “She must not be speaking well of me.”
“Hmm, she often says you’re a fool.”
