Chapter 191: 191 Get Out (For Alliance Hierarch’s Rest of Life, Extra Chapter 2 during Wind and Snow)
At seven o’clock, Luo Zhenghai returned home and, seeing his wife and both children there, nodded and said, “Everyone’s back.”
“Dad,” “Dad,” called a teenage boy around sixteen or seventeen and a little girl about ten years old.
“Old Luo, what’s the plan for dinner tonight?” his wife Zhao Feiqian approached and took the briefcase from his hand, asking as she did.
Luo Zhenghai unbuttoned the top button of his shirt and said, “Just cook a few simple dishes yourself, that’ll do.”
His daughter Luo Xining cheered, “Yay, it’s been so long since I’ve had Mom’s cooking.”
Hearing this, Luo Zhenghai couldn’t help but smile, walked over, scooped up his daughter, and said, “What, you think Aunt Guan’s cooking isn’t tasty?”
The little girl shook her head and then nodded, “It’s tasty, but not as good as Mom’s.”
“Smooth talker,” Luo Zhenghai pinched her nose and laughed, “You really know how to please everyone, don’t you?”
“That’s the truth.”
Luo Xining’s bright eyes turned to look at her brother sitting silently opposite, tugged at Luo Zhenghai’s clothes, and said, “Dad, my brother got first place in his midterms for the whole grade, shouldn’t there be a reward?”
“Is that so?”
Luo Zhenghai looked towards his son, who bore a striking resemblance to him, his smile fading as he asked, “What reward would you like?”
Luo Xiyu’s face flushed red with his adolescent pimples at his father’s words, speaking softly, “Dad, it’s okay. I don’t need anything.”
Luo Zhenghai watched his shy expression, his gaze deepening slightly, and said, “If there’s something you want, just say it confidently, don’t be like a little girl.”
“Dad, I…” Luo Xiyu’s face grew even redder.
Luo Xining became anxious, blurting out, “Brother, didn’t you say last time that you wanted Dad to take us on a family trip? Have you forgotten?”
When Luo Zhenghai heard his daughter’s words, his expression softened, and he said, “Alright, once summer break comes, we’ll go to Hawaii for a few days.”
“Really?” Luo Xining’s eyes sparkled.
Seeing his daughter’s excitement and his son’s expectant face, Luo Zhenghai thought about how he had always been busy with work and hadn’t spent much time with them; his heart softened, and he said, “Really.”
“You promised us, no backing out. I’m going to tell Mom.” Luo Xining hopped off the sofa and ran toward the kitchen.
Luo Zhenghai’s face lighted up with a smile, thinking that company affairs were steadily on track and it was time to make room for family.
………
On the road, a yellow Porsche drove along the highway, not very fast.
“My dad later married another woman and had a son, Luo Xiyu, who is sixteen this year and in the eleventh grade. Also, a nine-year-old daughter, Luo Xining, in the second grade,” Luo Xiyun was talking about her father’s family.
Chen Xu suddenly remembered her saying that her mother had died ten years ago and seemed to understand something. No wonder he felt that her relationship with her dad was a bit strange.
“Actually, I’ve never met them.”
Luo Xiyun was holding the steering wheel, stopped at a red light right after the car ahead, and said, “After my mom passed away, my grandma took me away. Not long after that, I heard from my aunt that he married another woman. That’s when I knew he had been keeping a woman on the side while with my mom. They had a son…”
Chen Xu felt a twinge in his heart at her words and reached half-way to hold her hand but stopped himself.
“I don’t hate him,” Luo Xiyun stared at the changing countdown of the traffic light and said, “But I cannot forgive him.”
Chen Xu simply listened quietly, saying nothing.
“We’re almost there.”
After some time, the car entered a residential area, a high-end villa community.
Chen Xu thought about the location of this community and could guess how outrageously expensive the houses here must be. It all seemed to fit Luo Zhenghai’s status.
The car stopped in front of one of the villas, and upon alighting, Luo Xiyun tightly linked her arm with his. He could tell she was nervous.
Soon, the door opened, and the two unconsciously inhaled sharply as they walked in.
“Old Luo, our guest is almost here.”
Zhao Feiqian received confirmation from the security at the gated community and reminded everyone. She ran into the kitchen and began serving the dishes.
Luo Zhenghai was about to get up when his mobile phone suddenly rang. Not many people knew this number. Today was the day his eldest daughter was coming home for dinner, and he didn’t want to answer the phone. However, when he saw who was calling, he changed his mind.
It was Liu Kun who was calling.
“Mr. Luo, I just got off the plane and saw you had called me. Is there anything you need?”
He asked, “Has Xiyun started dating someone?”
“Yes, I just confirmed that myself, and I was about to report it to you.”
He continued, “Who is this man? What’s his background?”
“His name is Chen Xu. He used to work for us at Wanhua…”

Hearing this name, Luo Zhenghai felt an uncanny familiarity. Just then, he heard noises outside; the person had arrived.
As the door opened, Chen Xu saw a woman in her thirties. She wasn’t particularly beautiful, but her smile and demeanor were charming.
Behind her stood a tall young man with a few acne marks on his face, giving him an especially youthful appearance. The slightly shy demeanor he showed upon meeting strangers made Chen Xu feel a sense of long-lost kinship.
Beside the young man was a little girl with curious, dark eyes, scanning both visitors.
“Xiyun, hello. I believe this is our first proper meeting. You’re just as lovely as you are in the photos,” said Zhao Feiqian, with a warm and natural smile on her face.
Luo Xiyun didn’t speak, but Chen Xu could feel her stiffness beside him.
Zhao Feiqian looked toward Chen Xu and asked, “You must be Xiyun’s boyfriend, right? Welcome.”
“My name is Chen Xu,” he replied politely.
“Xiyu, Xining, come greet our guests,” Zhao Feiqian told her two children.
Luo Xiyu was a little shy and muttered, “Sister Xiyun.”
“Sister, future brother-in-law,” Luo Xining said more boldly. However, this title made Chen Xu somewhat at a loss for words—what did ‘future brother-in-law’ even mean?
Zhao Feiqian scolded, “What kind of greeting is that? Sister is sister. What’s this ‘Sister Xiyun’? And you, what’s this ‘future brother-in-law’?”
Luo Xiyu looked embarrassed and didn’t dare to talk back, nor was he willing to correct his wording.
Luo Xining argued confidently, “Only if dad agrees, we can call him brother-in-law. Right now, it’s not official, so he’s the future brother-in-law.”
“You and your twisted logic,” Zhao Feiqian said helplessly. “My daughter, spoiled rotten by me. Come on, let’s go inside and talk.”
Chen Xu, aware of the awkward situation, didn’t say much more. Once inside, he noticed that the décor wasn’t as lavish as he had imagined, but rather simple and full of life.
Soon, he met Luo Xiyun’s father, the helmsman of a business empire, who had a naturally imposing appearance. At that moment, he was holding a phone to his ear. As their eyes met, Chen Xu felt a jolt in his heart.
Luo Zhenghai’s gaze held a sense of anger.
Had he ever offended this magnate? He was puzzled.
“Old Luo?” Zhao Feiqian quickly noticed his reaction and called out.
Luo Zhenghai put down his phone, his face cold as frost, and he pointed to the door, saying icily, “Get him out.”
The atmosphere in the room instantly froze.
