My Evil Crown Prince-Chapter 68: The Prince Of The Underworld
Alira frowned upon hearing Juliano called Caden, the Prince of the Underworld. Why would he call him that? She thought to herself.
"Indeed, I am." Caden said and went back to his seat. "Now, is there anything you would like to tell me?" He asked Juliano.
"Y–You can’t do this. I–I’m Juliano Garcia, a well-known businessman. If something happened to me, it will ruin your reputation. A–And I know a lot about you! You’re the youngest mafia boss in the history of the Forelli Clan. Y–You killed people. Y–You make them disappear without a trace!" Juliano stuttered.
She didn’t want to hear what Caden did, but Juliano seemed doing it on purpose because he wanted her to hear Caden’s evil deeds.
"I don’t think you know a lot about me. If what you’re saying is true, then you will fear me. But I guess you don’t know anything." Caden stared at Juliano.
Juliano gulped and couldn’t look into Caden’s eyes. He glanced at his men raised their hands in surrender.
Caden sighed impatiently. "Mr. Garcia, I don’t have all day. Tell me, where did you get the necklace?"
She frowned. "What do you mean? I thought it’s his grandmother’s piece."
Caden chuckled. "And you believe that? I don’t think so. Your grandmother, Julieta Garcia, had various antique collections. That’s true. But she could never afford such valuable items like the black diamond."
Caden took the necklace that was handed to him by Rock.
"You said you can confirm if the necklace is real or fake. And if it’s the Hoseki’s necklace, right?" Caden asked, while giving the black diamond to her.
She nodded and took the necklace. As soon as she held it, she knew it was her mother’s necklace. "This is the one. This is ours." She said.
"And how sure are you?" Lucas asked her.
"What the host said during the auction was the truth. The King of France gave the black diamond to the heiress of Hoseki. However, you missed a very crucial thing about it. It wasn’t a gift. Hoseki had just started manufacturing unique jewelry pieces when the King visited our store. He gave the black diamond and requested to make it a pendant. So our great-great grandmother did what the king requested. She was the one who designed the pendant, making it into a heart shape, and then she paired it with a platinum necklace with small white diamonds embedded in it." She paused.
She held the pendant with her fingers, showing everyone the back of the diamond. "If you look closely, the symbol of Hoseki was engraved behind the pendant."
"What happened? If it wasn’t a gift, why was it in your family’s hands?" Brie asked.
"It was supposed to be a gift, not to my great-great grandmother, but to the King’s wife. On the day that it was supposed to be presented to the Queen, news that she was dead surfaced. Then grandma received a letter from the King, more on a contract, asking her to keep the necklace safe until it is time to be reclaimed by its rightful owner."
Juliano grinned. "You’re lying. If that’s the truth, then why was it being donated in a museum?"
Her side lips raised. "Because it was officially mine. For decades, the necklace was passed down to the heiress of Hoseki to just keep it safe. We were allowed to use it on special occasions as part of the contract. Then it finally ended. I mean, the contract has a validity period. Mom said it was meant to be mine, but it was too heavy for me and suggested donating it. But when it went missing, I realized it was already part of Hoseki and I wanted to get it back."
"You heard her. So, I’m going to ask you again. Where did you get the necklace?" Caden asked, looking at Juliano.
Juliano became pale because he knew he had no choice but to tell Caden the truth.
"It wasn’t part of my grandmother’s collection. We planned everything about the auction and sent the invitations, but no one responded. No one wanted to attend. Then, a man suddenly approached me, offering me a very rare piece that would change everyone’s mind. He showed me the Black Diamond of Hoseki. I didn’t know it was stolen. He said the Wilson Clan donated it. I wanted to do the auction so badly, so I agreed. We sent another invitation and who would have thought that all the rich and famous came to see the necklace."
Caden crossed his legs. "And what’s his name? The man that gave you the necklace."
Juliano bit his lip and his eyes became uneasy. "I’m dead if I tell you." 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
"You’re dead if you don’t tell me." Caden answered.
"I don’t think you can kill me. That man can kill me and my family anytime. But you, you can’t possibly do it. I told you it was given to me. You can take it home and your money. I just don’t want to die." Juliano pleaded.
"Give me the name. I won’t ask again." Caden gritted his teeth.
Alira wanted to slap Juliano and force him to say the name because she knew Caden was already losing his patience.
But Juliano declined, continuously shaking his head. "N-No! I-I"
’BANG!’ The sound of a gunshot echoed inside the penthouse, making everyone present trembled in fear.
It startled her when she heard the gunshot. The sound was too intense that her ears hurt so much. She looked at her twin brother and Brie to see if one of them was shot. She saw them covering their ears, but they seemed fine.
She then turned to Caden and saw him smirking while pointing the gun at Juliano. Her eyes widened when she moved her gaze. Blood was flowing from Juliano’s right cheek. His eyes showed fear and disbelief.
"C-Caden!" She called.
But when Caden glared at her, she suddenly felt terrified seeing his cold expression. She couldn’t utter a word and just bit her lip.
"You’re fucking nuts!" Juliano shouted.
Caden snickered. "Oh, too bad, I missed. But next time, I’ll make sure to put a bullet in your head."
