My Evil Crown Prince-Chapter 106: The Crown Prince Is A Murderer
"Don’t make such a statement without any proof. You could get in trouble with your words." Investigator Lee warned Josh.
"I know, sir. I apologize. But didn’t you notice another car driving out of Primrose before Lucas Wilson and Aubrey Cross? Watch the footage again."
Investigator Lee curved his eyebrows. "What do you mean?"
Keisha replayed the CCTV footage again.
"See? Look!" Investigator Josh exclaimed.
The other three investigators had frowns on their faces while staring at the footage.
"That’s a black Rolls-Royce car. It’s midnight black to be exact and could not be seen that easily especially from that angle." Investigator Lee commented.
"The car is owned by the Wilson Clan but currently under the Crown Prince’s care. It was a vehicle provided for him while staying here." Keisha followed.
"Did you also notice that the lights outside the gate of Primrose were off? That’s the reason we didn’t notice the car." Bryan frowned.
Investigator Lee chuckled. "Let’s go back to the mansion."
"But we were only allowed to talk to them once. We have to get another permission." Keisha commented.
"Lucas Wilson will allow it."
Investigator Lee was confident that Lucas would agree with him. The three investigators followed their boss and went to Primrose.
But little did they know that Lucas and the others knew about their arrival.
"Are you sure about this? Investigator Lee is already suspecting Caden. They just want to get more information." Brie asked Lucas.
"We had no idea Caden left that night. Caroline said she saw Caden leaving his room, but she had no clue where he went. What will we tell them if we don’t know anything?" Lucas answered.
Brie nodded. Lucas was right. They didn’t know Caden went out of Primrose that night until Caroline told them. Although, the girl was unsure if her brother left Primrose, there were evidence that Caden really left.
"The car, where is it?" Brie asked, curiosity piqued.
"We swapped it with another one and the same model. Even the plate numbers were taken care of."
Brie bit her lip and wanted to ask another question. Lucas knew that she was hesitating.
"You know you can ask me anything. I won’t get mad."
"Do you really think it was Caden? What if it’s Alira?"
Lucas sighed. "It’s not Caden. It’s my sister."
Brie’s eyes widened. "What do you mean it’s your sister? How can you say that? She’s unconscious."
Lucas took another sigh. "Haven’t you noticed her hands? There were deep cuts and wounds. If she was unconscious, where would she get those?"
"And how would you explain her being in her room and on her bed, sleeping?" Brie asked confused. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
"I never mentioned to anyone that Alira has parasomnia. It happened after the incident in Flousia twelve years ago. She moves and can do anything while unconscious, but can’t remember anything when she wakes up. When we returned from Flousia, she had trouble sleeping because of the nightmares. But if she didn’t have those nightmares, she would suddenly walk in her sleep and do unusual things."
"Did you tell your parents?" Although surprised, Brie managed to ask Lucas.
"No. Mom is battling with her illness and Dad is her support, so I didn’t tell them. I told myself that I would be Alira’s support. I told Caden about it and he wanted to come so badly. But things didn’t go well with him in Flousia so I assured him that I would protect Alira for him."
"I wish you told me. I will be your support."
Lucas smiled. "I know. That’s the reason I didn’t tell you. But how about being my support from now on?"
Brie was dumbfounded. She didn’t expect those words from Lucas.
"You don’t need to ask me. You know I will always be here for you, but please don’t give me false hope."
Lucas was taken aback. He wanted to tell Brie about his feelings, but he couldn’t.
"I’m not giving you false hope. I was just asking you to support me, but it’s still your decision. Besides, I know you will stick with me even if I push you away." Lucas teased Brie.
Brie rolled her eyes. "Fine! You’re so conceited. I don’t know what I see in you!"
Lucas chuckled. "Well, I’m rich, good-looking, hot and the girls drooled over me. So, in a way, you’re lucky that I am allowing you to stay by my side."
"Whatever! Let’s not talk about us. About Alira, you are convinced that she killed Benjamin because of that reason?"
Lucas scratched his head. It was not the time for him to confess, so he answered Brie’s question.
"The marks on her hands are from carelessly holding a knife. It was too obvious."
"But she knows how to use guns and knives. And she knows the part where she could kill someone easily."
"That would be her defense and alibi. Everyone knows that the Wilson Twins learned about weapons and stuff when we were kids. Benjamin was killed in a reckless way, I would say. Alira could kill him in an instant."
Before the two could continue with their conversation, Caden barged inside Lucas’ room.
"It wasn’t Alira. It was me. I killed Benjamin!"
Lucas had a dark expression while glaring at Caden. Brie couldn’t say a word. She was looking at Caden and Lucas.
"Shut up, Caden! I know it’s not you!"
"The hell with you, Lucas! It’s me! Don’t ever think that it was Alira."
"Are you that stupid? You’re going to admit that you killed Benjamin? Do you want to be on the front page of the newspaper tomorrow? The Crown Prince is a murderer! You want to waste your life just because of a woman?"
Caden quickly walked toward Lucas and then grabbed him by the collar.
"What did you say? Just a woman? She’s not just a woman! She’s my fiance and my life! How dare you call her like that?"
"She’s my twin sister! I loved her and would do anything for her before you came into our lives! Do you think I will allow anyone to hurt her? I know she killed Benjamin and she had no idea that she did. I will do everything to protect her. But I won’t allow you to announce in public that you are the killer like an idiot! If Alira finds out about it, do you think she could forgive herself?"
Caden sighed deeply before letting go of Lucas.
"Calm down, will you? Let’s think about your interview later. Investigator Lee and his team are on their way here. They thought it was you who killed Benjamin. We have to know about what happened that night so we can answer them." Lucas calmly said.
Caden sat across from Lucas and crossed his legs.
"That night, I woke up and noticed Alira was not on the bed. I looked for her everywhere, but couldn’t find her. So, I reviewed the CCTV around the house and saw her walking out of Primrose. I drove out of the compound to look for her. I had no idea where she went. All I knew was she was just walking.’
"Where and how did you find her?" Lucas asked.
"I don’t know either. But I actually thought of driving around Northbay Prison. I saw her walking in the woods. When I grabbed her, she was staring at nothing. Her eyes were cold and then she fell unconscious. Her clothes were torn and her hands were bleeding." Caden paused remembering what happened that night.
"I called my men to check the area. The blood from her hands all leads to the prison. I had no choice but to use the name of the Forelli Clan so I could get inside. All the guards that night, we took care of them. I found Benjamin in his cell. He was still alive."
Lucas and Brie were shocked. "He’s alive?"
Caden nodded. "He didn’t expect Alira to visit him and stab him. But for some reason, he knew about Alira’s condition. That she had no idea about what she did. As if it was all his plan to destroy her and the Wilson Clan. He said he failed with the mother but this time he would not fail
with Alira."
"Mother? Was he referring to my mom?" Lucas frowned.
"Yes."
"What happened next?" Brie asked.
"I lost control. I was supposed to call an ambulance, but he wanted to destroy Alira so I shot him. So you see, I killed him. It wasn’t Alira, it’s me."
Lucas wanted to believe Caden, but he couldn’t just accept his confession. For now, he would take Caden’s statement as the half-truth of what happened that night. His sister was the one who stabbed Benjamin, but it was Caden who ended his life.
"But how about Elijah? He went out that night. Did he follow you or perhaps, you called him?" Brie asked confused.
Caden was a bit surprised. "I didn’t seen him ever since Alira collapsed. My men took care of everything. Elijah had nothing to do with what I did. I am the murderer. I killed my fake grandfather."
