My Core is the Boss-Chapter 155.1: Elder Ye Qiongs Scheme
Qi Yuan sat comfortably in his chair, quietly waiting for the result. He had to admit, pulling strings for the first time felt pretty damn good.
By now, Feng Lan had already sent the message up the chain.

A howling wind raged through Heaven Earth Cave.
Outside the cave entrance, a towering man stood, tense with reverence as he barked angrily, "The Blood-Clothed Sword God has gone too far! He slaughtered Mi'er for no reason, stirred up trouble at the Divine Flower Society, and openly provoked the Venerables! He gets away with everything just because Lord Wind shields him?!"
He clenched his fists. "Now, he wants to interfere with the Eastern Lands Prodigy Battle and secure a slot without even competing?! He clearly looks down on the three lords!"
This giant of a man was a late-stage Violet Palace expert, long in service to Venerable Ye Qiong. After receiving Feng Lan's transmission, he came here fuming.
The cave howled with cold, ghostly wind, and a childish voice drifted out from the depths. "Then tell me, how should we resolve this?" 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
Hearing the question, the tall cultivator frowned, thinking hard. "Not only does he have Lord Wind’s backing, the great calamity is also looming. Lord, you must preserve your strength. Acting directly against the Blood-Clothed Sword God would be unwise."
The cultivator racked his brain, trying to figure out how to deal with the troublesome fellow, but to no avail. Were they really going to just let the lunatic have his way?
Suddenly, his eyes lit up.
"Let him get into the top twenty," he said, excitement creeping into his voice. "That's what he wants: entry to Moonwatch Continent. The Heavenly Dao of Moonwatch Continent is broken. The strong have died off. Not just the Canglan World, but even the Moluo Clan coveted that land. Their clan treasure can detect any cultivator above the five realms the moment they step foot there.
"Hence, if the Blood-Clothed Sword God enters Moonwatch Continent, he is finished. The Moluo Clan will definitely sense him, and with their ferocious, untamed nature, they will absolutely hunt him down."
The Moonwatch Continent was split three ways. The natives were the weakest, and the strongest were the Moluo Clan. Even the three lords feared their Yin Spirits. Sending the Blood-Clothed Sword God there would be akin to tossing a lamb into a den of wolves.
Silence filled the cavern. After a long while, that childish voice returned. "Then we'll do as you say."
The tall man's eyes gleamed with relief.
"If possible, investigate his origins."
"Based on what we've gathered so far, we are almost certain that the Blood-Clothed Sword God, the Mad Daoist, and the Seven-Desires Demon Lord are the same person. They all come from the remote Hundred Nations." The man bowed slightly, hesitating. "We can't trace anything more. Based on my deductions, the Blood-Clothed Sword God might not even be a native of Canglan World."
The cave fell silent once more, and only the whistling gale answered him.
Finally, the one within the cave instructed, "Investigate which Divine Flower Society members came from the Hundred Kingdoms."
The tall cultivator bowed his head. "Understood!"
He couldn’t help showing a troubled expression. This is going to be a difficult task.

In Cloud City,
Feng Lan sat on pins and needles while maintaining a polite smile. "Senior Blood-Clothed Sword God, why are you so fixated on entering Moonwatch Continent? If you'd simply joined any sect tied to a prodigy, you'd have long gained the right to expand territory there."
Qi Yuan replied lazily, "Moonwatch Continent is my home. I need to go back."
Since he had used its Heavenly Dao for his foundation, didn’t that make it his home?
Feng Lan could only give an awkward smile. He was certain that a world of the Moonwatch Continent’s tier could never birth a monster like the Blood-Clothed Sword God. Naturally, he assumed the man was joking.
Then, Qi Yuan urged him. "So when will I get the chance to enter? Let me know, I’m in a hurry."
He had to know whether it was the same Moonwatch Continent he knew, and whether he could see the woman he had failed to meet back then.
"The entrance will open briefly when the Eastern Lands Prodigy Battle concludes. Senior may enter then."
Qi Yuan nodded. "Good."
Just then, Feng Lan's transmission jade lit up sharply.
Qi Yuan immediately glanced over. "What did they say?"
Feng Lan swallowed nervously. What if the lords lost their temper and refused? Even if the Blood-Clothed Sword God was no match for the lords, he could very well kill Feng Lan!
With the resolve of a man facing death, Feng Lan injected his consciousness into the jade. A moment later, he beamed. "Senior, it's approved! They've granted you direct placement into the top twenty and permission to enter Moonwatch Continent!"
Feng Lan exhaled in relief. Thank heavens they agreed.
Qi Yuan grinned. "Your superiors are surprisingly generous. When I'm free someday, I'll treat them to a meal."
Feng Lan's smile stiffened. There is absolutely no way I am relaying that message!
He still remembered the Blood-Clothed Sword God provoking Venerable Ye Qiong at the Divine Flower Society. They’d tear the city apart if they were put in the same room!
Just then, Qi Yuan asked, "Since I placed in the top twenty, can I choose one of the prodigy rewards?"
He was remembering the sect master's instructions.
Feng Lan blinked, momentarily stunned. Did he misheard? Although the top hundred did receive rewards, they were mostly Nascent Soul-tier treasures, useful for young geniuses. What use could the Blood-Clothed Sword God possibly have for such things? Still, he didn’t dare to hesitate.
"Of course," Feng Lan said quickly. With a wave of his hand, a storage pouch flew out from the palace interior. "Senior, you may choose one, or even two treasures."
When the pouch opened, an array of radiant treasures filled the air.
Had Qi Yuan still been in the Qi Refinement realm, he would have been dazzled. Now, he could barely bat an eye. Nevertheless, one item caught his attention: a small Violet-Gold Gourd. It was the treasure his sect master had instructed him to retrieve.
"I will take this one," he said.
"Excellent choice, Senior." Feng Lan leaned in for a closer look and discovered something. "This gourd is actually a Violet Palace artifact."
The moment the words left his mouth, Feng Lan regretted them. Would a run-of-the-mill Violet Palace artifact mean anything to a man who flattened the Bright Palace?
Just then, the taciturn Cloud Court Master finally said, his gaze lingering on the gourd, "Senior, may I ask if you have any history with this gourd?"
Qi Yuan glanced at him. "Mhm. This belonged to someone from my elder's clan. Now, it's simply going home."
"So that's how it is." The Cloud Court Master hesitated, then asked, "Would Senior be willing to leave a way to contact you?"
Qi Yuan didn't make things difficult. He casually produced a Violet Palace transmission jade, letting the other man take a look.
"Alright, then. Everything's settled. Cloud Court Master, Feng Lan, Booger Fairy, take care."
A streak of blood-light flashed, and Qi Yuan was gone. Feng Lan finally let out the breath he'd been holding. Meanwhile, the Cloud Court Master stood silent, his gaze deep and unreadable.
Feng Yue Fairy seemed like she'd just been wronged by the heavens themselves. Her eyes shimmered with grievance, unable to utter a single word.
