My College Teacher is My Children's Mom-Chapter 701: Let’s Fall in Love Then!
Turning his head, Shao Yang spoke with admiration. "Your second brother-in-law is seriously impressive."
He was talking about Qin Jiang. Despite having drunk so much, Qin Jiang’s expression remained unchanged, and he exuded an imposing aura tinged with a palpable ferocity. Lin Jiajun, Lin Jie, and the others couldn’t outdrink him and had no choice but to concede.
"Your alcohol tolerance is on par with our Director Lin’s. He could down a thousand cups and not get drunk!"
With his system’s enhancement, Lin Feng was never afraid of drinking; the only question was whether he wanted to get drunk or not.
Qin Jiang held up his glass, seemingly to offer Lin Feng a toast.
Er Bao burst into laughter. "What? You want to go head-to-head with my dad?"
Qin Jiang smiled. "I’m just toasting my future father-in-law. Nothing more."
Er Bao snorted.
Qin Jiang raised his glass. "Uncle, Auntie, Happy New Year!" He wasn’t a man of many words and rarely attended such occasions, so he was unable to deliver the expected pleasantries.
Lin Feng advised him to drink less.
Qin Jiang’s words were sincere. "Uncle, Auntie, you’ve done a truly wonderful job raising your children." Any parents who could raise such outstanding children were anything but ordinary. As an only child, Qin Jiang couldn’t express how much he envied those with siblings.
They ate until almost eleven o’clock, by which time the restaurant was nearly empty. The large family stood at the entrance, letting the cold wind sober them up as they chatted. Lin Feng called Shao Yang’s assistant, who had been waiting and was now supporting the drunken Shao Yang.
Shao Yang insisted he didn’t need help, declaring that as a future son-in-law, he couldn’t be outdone by Qin Jiang. "No need, I’m not drunk yet."
The assistant was speechless. You’re lying through your teeth.
Shao Yang looked at San Bao. "I have a gift for you at the hotel. Will you take a walk with me?"
Perhaps it was the atmosphere or the alcohol, but San Bao’s heart felt exceptionally soft tonight. "Alright, I’ll just let my parents know."
Zhang Yuxi discreetly reminded her daughter, "Don’t do anything reckless, come back early, and call if anything happens."
San Bao nodded. "Mhm, I know my limits."
The relatives found designated drivers and began to leave one after another. Xiao Bao was now dozing off on Lin Feng’s shoulder, completely exhausted. Da Bao and Si Bao decided to take a stroll to enjoy the night view. As for Qin Jiang, Er Bao was tasked with taking him back to the hotel. They were now an official couple, and Er Bao, with her high tolerance, wasn’t drunk.
The place, which had been bustling moments ago, emptied in the blink of an eye.
Lin Feng held Xiao Bao with one arm and took Zhang Yuxi’s hand with the other. "Let’s go. Time to head home."
Zhang Yuxi leaned against him. "Okay."
After they returned, Lin Feng put Xiao Bao to bed. When he went to their room, Zhang Yuxi was already lying down. He approached the bed, only to be pulled down by her. "Hmm?"
Zhang Yuxi wrapped her arms around his neck and called out sweetly, "Honey..."
After so many years of marriage, how could he not understand?
「Meanwhile」
Er Bao and Qin Jiang were walking down the street, her tone filled with undisguised admiration. "I had no idea you could drink so much."
Qin Jiang glanced down at her. "There’s a lot you don’t know about me."
Er Bao smiled, but her smile vanished when Qin Jiang answered a phone call.
"I have to go."
"A mission?" Er Bao reacted instantly.
Qin Jiang nodded, his reluctance clear. "Yes."
Er Bao pursed her lips and forced a smile. "It’s alright. I should at least take you back to the hotel so you can pack."
"No need," Qin Jiang said. "A car is coming to pick me up, and they’ll handle things at my hotel."
"Ah?" Er Bao was taken aback.
Just as he spoke, a jeep pulled up beside them. The windows rolled down, revealing several young men who stared wide-eyed at Er Bao.
Qin Jiang frowned. "Where are your eyes looking? Show some respect."
The four young men snapped to attention and greeted Er Bao, "Hello, Sister-in-law!"
Er Bao offered a small smile. "Hello!"
Qin Jiang got into the car. "Wait for me to come back."
Er Bao nodded. "Okay!"
She watched the vehicle drive away and stood there for a moment, a feeling creeping in that this relationship was going to be difficult. Sigh. It was my choice, after all. She hailed a cab and headed home.
「On the other side」
San Bao and Shao Yang were strolling along a street lit by neon signs. It was a crowded hour, and passersby kept turning to look at the exceptionally good-looking couple. San Bao wore a scarf that covered most of her face, revealing only her beautiful eyes. Shao Yang walked beside her, matching her pace. For a while, neither of them spoke.
Suddenly, someone on a skateboard shot out from behind them.
Shao Yang swiftly pulled her into his arms and chided the person, "What are you doing? Don’t you know how dangerous that is?"
The skateboarder apologized profusely. "I’m sorry! I just learned and can’t quite control it yet."
Shao Yang said no more. Cradled in his arms, San Bao looked up at him. "What’s that scent you’re wearing?"
"It’s a custom fragrance," Shao Yang said. "Do you like it?"
San Bao nodded. "I do."
Shao Yang smiled. "It’s my unique scent. I’m the only one who has it." Drunk people can be a bit childish.
San Bao chuckled softly. "If we get together, I won’t deal with your relatives. We’ll have to draw up a contract. Things like premarital assets and post-nuptial agreements... I’m used to my freedom and don’t like too many restrictions."
Shao Yang agreed to all of San Bao’s demands, stating that he didn’t place much importance on things like premarital assets. "Since I was young, I’ve always been confident. But when it comes to you, I’ve always been cautious."
San Bao found this amusing. "I’m not that scary."
Shao Yang felt she still didn’t understand what it was like to fall for someone who didn’t love you back.
Back at his hotel, Shao Yang handed her a wrapped gift box, telling her to open it when she got home.
"Alright," San Bao nodded. "I’m heading back then. You get some rest."
Reluctantly, Shao Yang saw her downstairs and hailed a cab for her. "Good night!"
San Bao gave a faint smile. "Good night."
When she got home, San Bao ran into Er Bao, who was downstairs looking for a snack. "Second Sister, you’re back so early?" she asked, a teasing lilt in her voice. It sounded as if she’d expected something more to happen between Er Bao and Qin Jiang.
Er Bao sighed. "He said he had a mission and was picked up by a car right then. What about you? I thought you and Shao Yang would, hehehe..." Er Bao’s jokes were always a mix of clean and risqué. She could talk about anything with Si Bao, who would get it in a second. She also loved teasing the earnest and cute San Bao, who, despite understanding everything, refused to play along.
"What’s that in your hand?" Er Bao asked curiously.
"It’s a gift from Shao Yang."
Er Bao figured it was some customized luxury item. Since she had nothing better to do, she said, "Open it, let me see."
There, lying quietly inside, was a notebook. It looked ordinary, except for the faint, high-end fragrance it emitted. It was Shao Yang’s scent.
Opening it, they found it filled with tailoring reports, pasted photos, and diary entries. All of it was about one person—San Bao. It was a thick volume.
Er Bao was stunned. "Oh my God, this doesn’t seem like something..." An heir to a top luxury brand, doing something like this? It’s a little childish, but also kind of endearing. "I thought he was all talk. I didn’t expect him to have actually been paying attention to you for so many years!"
Er Bao’s opinion of Shao Yang shifted slightly, though she couldn’t help but feel an urge to laugh. San Bao chuckled too, suddenly remembering a boy from her past. After their university graduation, he had given her a gift: countless tiny bottles filled with written wishes for her. She still had that gift.
Suddenly, she flipped to a page with a photograph.
"Ah!" Er Bao exclaimed. "Aren’t those wishing bottles?"
The photo showed a table covered in them, with a note: *Hope she’s happy when she receives it!*
Er Bao stifled a laugh. "Not bad, not bad. Well, you look through it. I’m going upstairs."
The thick notebook chronicled his journey from a secret crush to an open declaration of his feelings within its pages. The very last entry was from that night, at the hot pot restaurant...
"Will she agree? Will she? Will she? I’m so nervous..."
This line seemed to be written for her.
As she was leaving, Er Bao said, "Since you’re idle anyway, why not give romance a try? It doesn’t matter if it works out or not. At least it’ll be a memory for life." She added, "It might even help with your design bottleneck!"
After much deliberation, San Bao sent Shao Yang a message at four in the morning, agreeing to give their relationship a try.
She closed the notebook, yawned, and went to sleep.
Early the next morning, Shao Yang tagged San Bao in a post, announcing the news.
"She agreed! She agreed! I’d like to formally introduce everyone to my girl!"
The brand’s official account even shared the post.
