After My Death, the Love-struck CEO Begs for Reconciliation-Chapter 31 - 32
Once the call connected, Julian Lancaster didn’t pay attention to what Serena Sullivan said, focusing intently on trying to hear the other party’s response. However, there was only silence on the other end of the line.
"Clara Everard, I’m telling you, I’m not joking with you! If you don’t wire the ransom, we will immediately end it, and you’ll never see Julian Lancaster again!"
Julian Lancaster suddenly heard a light chuckle from the other end; he held his breath, awaiting his judgment.
"He has nothing to do with me anymore, Serena. You’ve got the wrong person. Also, let me remind you, what you’re doing is illegal..."
No connection anymore...
Julian Lancaster only heard that sentence. He finally deeply understood the reality. He had lost me.
The call turned from threats to one-sided insults, and I hung up directly.
The two of them also realized Julian Lancaster was already awake. 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂
Caleb Crawford approached him with a fruit knife, "Since you’re awake, let’s settle our scores, starting with my hand..."
After hanging up the phone, I thought again and again.
Though I no longer wanted anything to do with Julian Lancaster, I couldn’t just stand by and do nothing.
Moreover, since they had called me, if the police investigated, I couldn’t avoid involvement.
After much deliberation, I dialed the number for Interpol.
The winter in Caelus hadn’t yet passed, but I was no longer afraid of the cold because I have a unique warmth all to myself.
I’ve always wanted to open my own studio. Adrian Sinclair recognized my abilities, and the resources of Elysian were at my disposal. He worked tirelessly to assist me, and soon, I emerged as a promising designer amidst flattering attention.
A month later, the joint launch of accessories themed "Fragrant Camphor Tree" by Elysian and my studio caused a global sensation.
The inquisitive media unearthed suspicions of plagiarism in my previous works and pointed it out sharply at the new product launch. However, I gracefully and calmly introduced my design concepts to everyone.
This plagiarism upheaval had actually reversed domestically long ago. I knew it was Adrian Sinclair’s doing.
Many designers had been plagiarized by Serena Sullivan. Previously, under pressure from the Aethel Group, no one dared to voice out. A few obstinate independent designers who spoke up were brutally suppressed, never to rise again.
However, when Elysian publicly accused Serena Sullivan of plagiarism, the evidence presented gave those who had been silenced the courage to stand up, and voices emerged in abundance for a time.
The Aethel Group, which backed Serena Sullivan, also suffered significant impacts, its stock market value plummeting, squeezed by rivals at every step, left in a hopeless situation.
Strangely, Julian Lancaster and Serena Sullivan had vanished as if into thin air, with no one knowing their whereabouts.
That day after the police arrived, they saw Julian Lancaster lying injured on the ground, and not far away, Serena Sullivan was trembling in fear.
Julian Lancaster had trained in combat, but bound as he was, those two managed to stab him several times fiercely.
Caleb Crawford always wanted to ruin his face; in the struggle, the knife cut through the ropes on him, and the situation was suddenly reversed.
Julian Lancaster grabbed the fruit knife and stabbed it into Caleb Crawford’s neck.
However, as the mantis stalks the cicada, unaware of the oriole behind, Serena Sullivan smashed a brick against him from behind. Amidst the intense pain, Julian Lancaster threw her to the ground before finally fainting from exhaustion.
In the end, Caleb Crawford died from excessive blood loss, Julian Lancaster was severely injured and hospitalized, and Serena Sullivan was sentenced to life imprisonment.
However, these things are in the past, and are no longer important to me.
What’s most important to me now is to live out the rest of my life with the people by my side.
To walk through my life all over again with Adrian Sinclair.
