My College Teacher is My Children's Mom-Chapter 688: Just Pamper Her!
"Dad, I’ll drive you to the airport," Lin Feng offered.
"No need," his father replied. "I’ll just grab a cab. You go on and do your own thing."
At this time of year in the North, the dry wind howled, feeling like a stinging slap to the face. It was quite painful.
Having undergone Purification and Marrow Cleansing, Lin Feng’s constitution was exceptionally strong. He didn’t feel the cold even as his woolen coat fluttered in the strong wind.
Even the taxi driver asked with concern, "Young man, you don’t feel the cold?"
Lin Feng smiled. "I don’t."
The driver sounded envious. "Ah, it’s great to be young. You’re so full of vitality, not even afraid of the cold."
When he arrived back in Mei City, he happened to return at the same time as Tian Tian. She came running over with a pitter-patter of feet. "Daddy, you’re back!"
Lin Feng picked her up. "Yes, I’m back. Did you have fun these past few days?"
Tian Tian was clearly trying to butter him up. "It was super fun... Daddy, I’m your favorite little treasure, right?"
"You love me the most, don’t you?"
Lin Feng heard the hidden meaning in her tone and raised an eyebrow. "What’s wrong? Did you get into trouble?"
Tian Tian pouted, wrinkled her nose, and fiddled with her daddy’s button as she spoke hesitantly.
"I left my homework notebook back there... School starts tomorrow, so can you please explain it to my teacher for me?"
That’s no big deal. Lin Feng nodded. "Alright, I’ll explain it to your teacher."
"Or," he suggested, "I could have someone make a quick trip over there, take a video of your homework, and send it to your teacher. That would work too."
Tian Tian’s eyes widened, and she quickly backtracked. "No, there’s no need for a video! It’s a long flight over there."
Lin Feng finally looked Tian Tian straight in the eye. "I know people over there; it’s not a long trip for them. What’s going on? Don’t tell me you didn’t do your homework."
Tian Tian blinked her big eyes. "No! I did it."
Although Tian Tian’s acting was flawless, Lin Feng’s intuition screamed that she hadn’t done it.
"Did you do it or not? You know Daddy hates it when children lie!"
Lin Feng was normally gentle and kind at home, but when he truly got angry, he was even more terrifying than Zhang Yuxi.
Tian Tian immediately grew scared and quickly confessed.
"W-well, it’s not that I didn’t do any of it... I just... I just forgot to do the Chinese homework..."
Lin Feng frowned. "Then why didn’t you just tell me the truth? Why did you lie to me?"
Tian Tian pouted, looking pitiful. "I was afraid you’d get mad..."
Lin Feng huffed. "Lying to me makes me even madder."
"Don’t let it happen again, or Daddy will have to give you a spanking."
Tian Tian nodded hurriedly. "I won’t, I won’t do it again..."
Lin Feng saw it was just past seven o’clock and decided to help his daughter salvage the situation. "What do you have for Chinese?"
"Two test papers, two short essays, and reviewing new vocabulary," she recited.
Lin Feng nodded. "There’s still time. Let’s try to finish it all before bed."
Tian Tian’s eyes widened. Seeing that her father was serious, she could only let out a sullen "Oh."
After he got back, Er Bao and San Bao had both gone out to take care of some things. They had spent the last few days playing with the children, so a lot of work had piled up.
Zhang Yuxi wouldn’t be back until tomorrow, so the task of supervising Tian Tian’s homework naturally fell to Lin Feng.
He recalled the last time he had helped Tian Tian with her homework... which was, well, the last time.
Lin Feng got the documents for the two test papers from the teacher in a group chat, then printed them out and placed them in front of Tian Tian.
"You know what you have to do, right? I’ll come check on you at nine-thirty."
Tian Tian tugged at his sleeve. "Daddy, will you stay with me? Please?"
She seems anxious, probably worried she won’t be able to finish in time.
Recalling the misery of tutoring Tian Tian, Lin Feng reluctantly sat down. "Fine. Start writing. Ask me if you don’t understand something."
For the first five minutes, all he saw was Tian Tian looking for and sharpening pencils. One pencil wasn’t enough; she had to sharpen all dozen or so pencils in her pencil case.
Lin Feng reminded her, "We’re short on time. One pencil is enough!"
Tian Tian turned to look at him. "But they’re all dull! I have to sharpen all of them."
Here we go again!
He had just been about to lose his temper, but her sweet voice made his anger vanish. Lin Feng smiled. "Hurry up and write!"
Ah, Tian Tian is just so cute!
While he was sharpening pencils, Tian Tian finally started to write. By this point, almost ten minutes had gone by.
Lin Feng looked over at the test paper. His daughter’s chicken-scratch handwriting was almost unbearable to look at. "Tian Tian, can you try to write a little neater?"
It had been so long, yet her handwriting had reverted right back to how it started.
To his surprise, Tian Tian retorted with perfect justification, "There isn’t enough time! I have to write fast, so it’s going to be a little messy!"
Lin Feng was speechless.
"You can write neatly and quickly at the same time."
Tian Tian pouted. "Aiyah, Daddy, just be quiet."
"..."
Lin Feng considered himself a very patient man with a high tolerance for frustration. Otherwise, he never could have raised four children by himself without any pressure. However, when it came to Tian Tian and her studies, he really wanted to tear his hair out.
Fine. If she didn’t want him to talk, he’d just sit to the side.
He picked up a book and pretended to read, his eyes flicking over to Tian Tian every so often.
His blood pressure was starting to rise. She’d been sitting there for ages and had barely written a thing.
"Tian Tian, your Chinese teacher said you have to finish by nine o’clock and send her a video of it."
Tian Tian was startled. "You’re lying, Daddy!"
Lin Feng felt a headache coming on. "I’m not. That’s what she told me when I called to ask about the test papers."
Tian Tian froze for a moment, then scrambled to get back to writing, her speed increasing dramatically.
"Daddy, how do you write this?"
"Daddy, how do you make a word with this character?"
"Daddy, look, did I write this correctly?"
After being called for the umpteenth time, Lin Feng couldn’t take it anymore. "This is a test paper, like an exam you take at home. Do it yourself and stop asking me."
Tian Tian gave him a pitiful look, her lips puckered in a pout as she mumbled, "But there isn’t enough time..."
Lin Feng resigned himself to his fate. He glanced at the time. Good heavens, it was eight o’clock! He warned her, "You have ten more minutes. I’m collecting the test paper in ten minutes."
Tian Tian whipped her head around. "You’re a mean daddy!"
Lin Feng was exasperated. "What does this have to do with me? I’m not the one who didn’t give you enough time. It’s your own responsibility to catch up on your homework."
Now Tian Tian was angry. "I don’t want to talk to you!"
Lin Feng was even more exasperated. "Fine! Then don’t talk to me. Just do your homework!"
Just then, his phone rang. It was Zhang Yuxi. Tian Tian, who was afraid of her mother, whispered urgently, "Daddy, don’t tell Mom I’m catching up on my homework, okay?"
Lin Feng sighed. "I know, I know. Just write and stop talking."
Tian Tian still looked worried. "Take the call right here!"
Great. The little rascal doesn’t trust me.
After the call ended, Lin Feng urged his daughter, "Hurry up and write!"
Tian Tian beamed and went back to scribbling, completely unaware that Lin Feng had secretly recorded a short video and sent it to Zhang Yuxi.
Zhang Yuxi: "!!!!!!!! She’s asking for it!"
Lin Feng’s heart ached for his daughter. "I already scolded her," he typed back. "Just pretend you don’t know about this."
Zhang Yuxi replied, "You just keep spoiling her rotten."
