My College Teacher is My Children's Mom-Chapter 628 Moving?
After lunch, the graduation ceremony officially came to an end. The children presented the teachers who had accompanied them for three years with gifts they had prepared in advance: things like flowers, greeting cards, and hairpins. They weren’t very valuable; the sentiment was what mattered.
The gift Xiaobao gave to each of the three teachers in her class, however, was a two-carat blue diamond. Erbao had brought them back at Xiaobao’s request. All three teachers were flattered but overwhelmed, insisting the gifts were far too valuable to accept.
Xiaobao bowed deeply to them. "Thank you, teachers, for your care over these past three years!" 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚
Watching Xiaobao and her family walk away, the three teachers were deeply moved.
Then came the summer vacation. This summer, Lin Feng took Xiaobao to learn taekwondo. He refused offers from Dabao, Erbao, Sanbao, and the others to teach her themselves.
"Let you guys teach her? Who knows when Xiaobao would ever learn anything. Forget it. You can go do your own things."
It was no joke; they all doted on Xiaobao so much that they couldn’t bear to be strict with her. The moment she cried or acted cute, all thoughts of training would go out the window. Even so, her four older siblings voluntarily took on the responsibility of supervising Xiaobao’s taekwondo lessons.
Lin Feng had no concerns about leaving Xiaobao in their hands, so he and Zhang Yuxi went off to enjoy some private time together. They packed their bags for a ski trip, inviting An Lan and a few others to join. What was initially planned for a small group grew larger and larger as more people were invited, and in the end, everyone who could go went.
Meanwhile, the four older siblings and their peers planned a trip to Sanya to play in the water. So, no sooner had Lin Feng left than the four of them called to say they were going to Sanya for a week before returning for the lessons. Lin Feng couldn’t be bothered to argue with them.
They’re all grown up now. If they want to play, let them play.
During the summer vacation, Wen Xiaoya heard that the four older siblings were back and planned to bring Mi Fan over to play with Xiaobao. However, the family was split between two destinations. Zhou Cuilan offered to watch the children for a few days so that Wen Xiaoya could join them on their trip. After all, everyone on the ski trip was an adult, while all the younger generation members were in Sanya. Taking three-year-old Mi Fan along would be inconvenient. With Wen Xiaoya’s mother also present, they decided to leave the children with the grandmothers for a few days. And so, Wen Xiaoya went skiing with Lin Feng’s group.
Without her child around, An Lan completely let loose. She had just spent an intense period supporting her younger son through his college entrance exams. She had practically been worshiping him like a little ancestor. She hadn’t dared to show any of her own stress for fear of pressuring him. In her own words, since the beginning of his senior year, she had served her "little ancestor" for a full year. Now it was time to let him fend for himself. His test results came back great, so as for moving him into the dorm tomorrow, Liu Bo could handle it.
An Lan had been worried sick about her son’s education for years. Now, a great weight had been lifted from her shoulders. Their family didn’t lack money, so as for his future marriage and children, that was up to him.
Dressed beautifully aboard Zhang Yuxi’s private plane, An Lan found herself getting sentimental again. Looking back, I’ve become a full-time mother, while Yuxi has become a prestigious principal. In comparison, I don’t measure up at all. Now that my sons are independent, I should find something else to do. These past few years, as Liu Bo’s career has skyrocketed, we’ve had less and less to talk about. I trust his feelings for me, and I know he would never do anything to wrong me. But what’s the point if our relationship becomes like stagnant water?
After listening to An Lan’s venting, Zhang Yuxi said, "Cheer up. Whatever you decide to do, I’ll support you."
Marriage and children have worn down the sharp edges of her personality, Zhang Yuxi thought. That once-feisty girl has become a middle-aged woman. I really am so much more fortunate than my best friend.
Just then, Lin Feng brought over a plate of freshly cut fruit. He looked at Zhang Yuxi, his eyes asking if An Lan was okay. Zhang Yuxi simply shook her head, signaling that it was nothing serious.
「A week later」
Upon returning to Yangcheng, Xiaobao formally started her taekwondo classes. After just three lessons, she was already complaining about how hard it was, her little face growing more crestfallen each day.
"Daddy, can I stop learning?"
Lin Feng felt it was good for a girl to learn this sort of thing for self-defense later in life. After all, one shouldn’t be fooled by Sanbao’s gentle appearance; she could easily take on three opponents at once without a problem.
Lin Feng asked, "Of course you can. But what will you do if someone wants to cast you as a martial arts hero in the future and you don’t know any moves?"
Xiaobao frowned, caught in a dilemma. She was a bundle of contradictions. The only thing she was willing to work hard at was acting; for everything else, she was lazy and just wanted to play. Lin Feng hoped this approach might encourage her to stick with it.
When they got home, Lin Feng arranged a demonstration for Xiaobao. Erbao and Sibao sparred, their movements sharp and impressive. Xiaobao watched with her eyes glued to them.
"Wow, that’s so cool!"
Erbao said proudly, "Of course! Your second sister was a national taekwondo champion, what did you expect?" She then called out, "Third Sister, you’re up!"
Despite both having introverted and gentle personalities, they fought with such ferocity that anyone who didn’t know them might think they were sworn enemies!
Erbao hadn’t had her fill from the spar with Sibao, who she felt was going easy on her, so she called over their eldest brother. "Dabao, spar with me for a bit."
Dabao stood up, removed his scholarly glasses to reveal his handsome face, and got into position.
Erbao chuckled. "Big brother, don’t hold back. Just go for it. As long as you don’t hit the face, we’re good."
Midway through the match, Erbao noticed Dabao was holding back and grew annoyed. "Big brother, who do you think you’re looking down on?"
The words had barely left her mouth when a fist connected, much to her delight. "Yes! That’s more like it!"
After the demonstration ended, Xiaobao was resolute. She decided she would learn taekwondo properly so she could fight bad guys in the future.
Seeing this, Lin Feng told her four older siblings to decide among themselves who would take Xiaobao to her classes. With that settled, he went to tidy up the yard.
Just then, a long-lost voice rang out in his mind.
DING!
[For accompanying your children through to their university graduation and fulfilling your paternal duties, you have been awarded one villa in the She Tai Mountain Estate!]
Having lived in Yangcheng for so long, Lin Feng was familiar with the estate. He had already planned to buy a villa there once the children were older. Now that they were grown and at an age where they might start dating, they would need more guest rooms. If they got married and brought their partners back for visits, their current small manor wouldn’t be large enough to house everyone. He had been thinking about this for a while, but he never expected the system to just give him one.
Since he had some free time, he decided to drive over and take a look. The villa had ten bedrooms, five living rooms, and eight bathrooms spread across three floors. Including the basement, the total floor area was 2,500 square meters!
A house this big... I might not have the stamina to clean it all by myself. I should probably look into hiring an auntie to help.
The timing was perfect for a move, so Lin Feng announced the news at the dinner table that evening.
"Moving? Where to?"
"She Tai Mountain."
Everyone was a bit surprised, thinking their current home was perfectly fine. So, Lin Feng took them to see the new house. One by one, they fell in love with it, quickly forgetting the old one. A house this big was simply fantastic, and they all immediately agreed to the move.
Previously, Lin Feng had discussed buying a new house with Zhang Yuxi, so she asked him quietly, "Honey, this house must have been very expensive, right?"
Houses in She Tai Mountain started in the hundreds of millions. Zhang Yuxi felt they didn’t need another one, as they already owned plenty of property. However, after Lin Feng explained his reasoning to her, she agreed that moving was a good idea. In the future, when their children brought their partners home to visit, they would have more than enough room in the guest bedrooms.
