My Cold-Hearted Husband Wants Me Back-Chapter 10: A Month
Chapter 10 - A Month
Gideon stormed through the hospital hallway, his face dark with frustration. He had searched every corner, but Lunara was nowhere to be found. His hands clenched into fists. If Old Man Vaughn found out he failed, things would only get worse.
Lost in his thoughts, he didn't see the man walking toward him.
They collided.
"What are your eyes for?" Gideon snapped, irritated by the unexpected collision. But the moment his gaze met the stranger's, his words faltered.
The man in front of him was tall, exuding an intimidating aura that seemed to fill the space. His sharp, cold eyes locked onto Gideon's with an unsettling calm. He knew right away that this man was not on the same level with him.
Eryx didn't say a word. He simply stood there, his presence enough to make Gideon feel like he was being scrutinized from every angle. The tension in the air grew thick.
Gideon felt an unease in his gut, something he couldn't shake off. He wasn't sure who this man was, but the way he carried himself, his silent confidence, his overwhelming presence, all of it made him nervous.
"Now... can you see where my eyes are?" Eryx's voice was low, cutting through the tension like a knife.
Gideon tried to hide his growing discomfort but couldn't escape the weight of Eryx's gaze. The man's silent threat lingered in the air, pressing down on him.

He took a step back, trying to regain his composure, but the sense of being under the man's watchful eye remained.
"Watch where you are going next time..." Gideon muttered, attempting to regain control of the situation and walking away.
"Wait..." Eryx's low, deep voice was enough to halt Gideon's movement.
Gideon froze, a wave of worry washing over him. He turned slowly, half expecting to see a man who would back down. But instead, Eryx stood there, unwavering, as though waiting for something.
"Do I know you?" Gideon asked, trying to sound confident, though the tension in his voice betrayed him.
Eryx didn't respond right away. His piercing eyes seemed to weigh every word. "No, do you know me?" he asked calmly, but his eyes slightly furrowed, feeling like he had seen him somewhere before.
Gideon stiffened, his eyes narrowing in suspicion. "I don't know what you're talking about," he muttered, trying to dismiss the unease that began to crawl up his spine.
Eryx studied him for a moment longer, his gaze unwavering. "Strange," Eryx said, almost to himself, his voice quiet. "I feel like I've crossed paths with you before."
Gideon quickly turned his head, hiding the hint of discomfort that showed. "I don't have time for this." He started to move, ready to leave, but something about Eryx's presence kept him rooted.
Eryx's gaze remained on him making it more uncomfortable.
Gideon gritted his teeth and took a step back. "I'll be going now," he muttered, turning away quickly.
Eryx didn't stop him, but he couldn't shake the feeling that he had crossed paths with this man before. Something about him felt familiar, but he couldn't figure out why. He cast one last glance at the man before shifting his gaze to Callum. "Lead the way..."
Callum quickly stepped forward and guided him to the VIP room.
"Daddy!"
The moment Eryx entered, Mila's weak voice reached his ears.
He hurried to the bed, sitting at the edge as he smiled warmly. "What happened to my baby? Do you still feel sick?"
Mila pouted. "Daddy..." She wrapped her arms around him, clinging tightly. "Let's go home."
He gently pulled away, brushing her hair back. "We'll go home once the doctor says you're ready, okay?" He pinched her cheek lightly.
Across the room, his mother sat on the sofa, one leg crossed over the other. Without looking up from her tablet, she spoke coldly. "If you can't take care of her properly, it would be better to return her to the woman's family."
Her voice remained indifferent, her attention still fixed on the business proposal in her hands.
"I thought we settled this two years ago..." Eryx said, stealing a glance at Mila, who seemed unaware of the tension in the room.
"The deal... you broke it." Regina finally lifted her head, her cold gaze locking onto him. "It's been two years. My guess was right, wasn't it? You really bought that girl. Is she even still alive?"
He stood up, his sharp gaze fixed on his mother. "I never broke anything. We are still married."
Regina scoffed. "Really? Still married? I was trying to be patient, but two years is more than enough for you to think you can fool me, don't you think? If I wanted to find her, I could do it with just a flick of my fingers. So, why do you think I haven't?"
Eryx clenched his jaw, swallowing hard. "What do you want?"
Regina let out a cold chuckle. "What do I want? I made it clear... I told you to get married and start a family, and in return, I allowed you to take care of her." She glanced at Mila for a moment before shifting her gaze back to Eryx. "But since you broke that agreement, return her to her mother's family. They're still desperately trying to get her. Well... you know, since they think they can squeeze money out of the Grantham family." She snickered.
"Mom...!" Eryx's voice rose in frustration. "She is still your granddaughter! Why are you acting like this? Just because her mother wasn't the daughter-in-law you chose?"
"Well..." She leaned back. "I didn't want to drag out the dirty things she did since... She's already dead. But Eryx, you should consider yourself lucky. I let you choose your bride. So, behave and bring her back to meet me as soon as possible..." She suddenly paused, "Wait," tapping her fingers against the tablet. "I'll give you a month. Bring the bride you bought out of nowhere to meet me, or I'll send that girl back to the gold digger's family."
