The castle interior had changed too. Once cold and filled with stone echoes, it now radiated warmth. Banners of deep blue and silver hung from tall pillars, and golden sunlight streamed in through stained glass windows depicting scenes of unity, courage, and rebirth. Guards stood straighter, servants moved with purpose, and nobles bowed respectfully as Leon passed.

He could tell this wasn't out of fear—it was out of respect.

In the throne hall, a grand circular table was already prepared. Luna took her seat at the center, with Leon at her right. The other seats slowly filled with trusted knights, advisors, and key figures from the city. Among them was Dren, his usual carefree grin slightly more serious than usual, and Marian, quiet but ever-watchful.

Roselia wasn't present—still recovering—but Myria stood near the back, arms crossed, her eyes locked on Leon.

"I've called this gathering," Luna began, her voice calm yet firm, "because while peace has returned to Blue Wind City… we all know it won't last forever."

Murmurs spread among those gathered.

"We've made enemies," she continued. "Dark forces stirred when Sir Leon entered the Abyss Dungeon… and now that he has returned, stronger, they will surely come seeking us again."

Leon quietly sat as he watched Luna take command. Blue Wind City was vast, and it bordered the Dread Forest—and acted as a wall that prevented monsters from pouring into the kingdom. That's why even though it was designated a Margrave territory, it is at least on par with a Duke's in power and responsibility.

With many retainers and forces stationed here… things had changed since the last time Leon was here.

The first time Leon came to this city, the territory was steeped in stone silence and ruled by a lord who had usurped the last Margrave, driving Luna—the true heiress—and her younger sister Millie into exile. At that time, Leon helped Luna reclaim her status as the rightful Margrave and restore Blue Wind City to order.

After that, his next trial was to raid the Abyss Dungeon and gather crucial supplies for the declining city. Following that, he was meant to seek out allies from across the land—necessary preparations to survive the Annual Blue Wave, a monstrous tide of creatures that attacked the city every year.

But Leon… defied expectations.

Instead of merely surviving the Blue Wave, he killed the demon responsible for orchestrating it, effectively ending the threat before it could strike. In doing so, he completed his trial ahead of schedule, skipping many others that had yet to come.

Now that he has returned once again, the city is filled with powerful individuals—heroes, warriors, and strategists—many of whom recognize him. In their memories, he was the one who recruited them to defend Blue Wind City. And now, without even intending it, Leon is the Commander of all the forces within the city.

…These were the trials he was supposed to face eventually. But fate—and power—accelerated them.

Now, with his return, the trials resume once more. The next one lies ahead: ensuring the survival of Blue Wind City in the face of a terrifying threat—

The Mad Demon King, who seeks to unite the world under a single, destructive will.

This… is the highest-tier Insane Difficulty Trial.

Soon the meeting ended as everyone went to do their own work.

Leon stood on the balcony, overlooking the vast city below.

"You look different," came a sudden voice behind him. It was Luna, stepping quietly beside him.

"Different?" he asked, glancing her way.

"I mean... you are Leon, yet you seem more mature. As if you've gone through so many things..." She paused, her eyes scanning his face. "And yet, at the same time, you still have those mischievous eyes. I don't know what happened to you."

"Maybe," Leon answered. She was right. It had been over five years since he left this world—the Trial World, the Tower that had crafted for him insane challenges. Yet now, he was back here, the place where his journey first began.

"I've lost some memories," he said.

Luna's eyes widened. "What!?"

"How are you alright?" she asked as she touched his face.

"The Demon was strong , I had to go all out to defeat him, during that fight I was also heavily injured leading me to loose some memories," he said.

Though it wasn't entirely the truth, it was a good excuse—to explain how come he don't know about the allies he has personally recruited.

" How much memory you have lost?"

She asked as she looked at him.

"The last memory I have is from the time when I was going for the Abyss Dungeon raid with Roselia and the others," he said. Luna nodded, and she began to ask a few more questions…

Unbeknownst to them, someone was eavesdropping, hidden in the shadows.

Myria.

She was carefully listening, a wicked smile curling on her lips as she heard Leon mention that he had to go out to fight the Azure Demon.

"So, he's weaker than we thought," Myria mumbled, as she relayed the news back to the Daemon Continent. She sent word that they should proceed with the raid. Leon had returned, but he was weaker—at least according to their intelligence.

It was all a misunderstanding, due to Leon's excuse. For Leon, it was a sweet little lie. But for Myria and the other demons raising their plans against the city—it turned out to be a grave mistake.

One they would come to regret in the future.

The Daemon Continent of Demons and the Human Continent Avalon are divided by two extremes: on one side lies the Dread Forest, which is mostly located on the Human continent Avalon, and on the other side lies the Dread Sea, which mostly borders the Daemon coast.

Just as Blue Wind City serves as a wall to prevent monsters from entering the Human Kingdom, Redlight City on the Daemon side is a fortress that defends against invasions from the creatures of the Dread Sea.

And the one who leads Redlight City is none other than one of the Ten Demon Lords—the Demon Lord of Lust, Asmodeus.

He had just sensed the message sent by Myria, whom he had dispatched to gather information. The message confirmed what he had hoped for: that one of the Seven Demon Lords—the Demon Lord of Wrath, the Azure Demon—was killed.

And not only that… he was slain by a human named Leon, a human who possesses enough power to defeat a Demon Lord. However, the report also stated that Leon is now weak after the battle.

A cold smirk curled on Asmodeus' lips.

"It's the perfect time to strike… and secure a strategic position," he said, eyes glowing with ambition.

"How is the route to the Human Continent being secured?" Asmodeus asked his butler, Red.

"Master, we have secured the sea route using the monsters of the Deep Abyss," Red replied respectfully. "Now, only the Dread Forest and its outer walls remain. Our troops can soon cross both barriers and reach the first human city—Blue Wind City."

Asmodeus grinned, his eyes gleaming. "Good."

"How much time will it take?" he asked, turning toward Red once more.

Red bowed slightly. "Master, just another three months."

Asmodeus looked out into the distance, his voice calm but full of fire. "Ahaha… We've been carving out this sea route for over three years. Three more months is nothing."

"In those three months, I will ensure the Demon Lords have established their foothold on the Human Continent," he said confidently, and Red nodded in acknowledgment.

"All according to the will of the Great Demon King," Asmodeus said with a wicked smile.

The others in the hall, cloaked figures and demon commanders alike, echoed in unison:

"All according to the will of the Great Demon King."

Their voices rumbled like thunder, reverberating through the black marble walls of the fortress deep within the Red Light City. The air grew heavier, charged with demonic energy, as if the world itself trembled under that name.

Asmodeus sat back on his throne, fingers steepled beneath his chin, eyes gleaming crimson.

"Soon… this world will bow."

Back at Blue Wind City...

The warm sun bathed the city in golden light as Luna gently tugged Leon by the arm, guiding him through the bustling streets of Blue Wind City. Children laughed as they played by the fountains, market stalls were alive with chatter and the scent of fresh bread and spices, and guards in polished armor patrolled with relaxed ease—a stark contrast to the city's past.

"This used to be where the old barracks stood," Luna said with a soft smile, pointing to a building now converted into a public school. "You helped rebuild it. After the siege… you made it a priority to invest in the people."

Leon looked around, eyes scanning the familiar-yet-distant architecture.

"I did…?" he muttered, more to himself than her.

Luna nodded. "You were different then—still reckless, but kind. Passionate. You inspired people, Leon. That hasn't changed."

Leon nodded just though inwardly he was worrying 'When this will it end?' he thought as he looked at Luna 'I guess not soon'.
