Chapter 303: Near The Blue Rose Vine

(Arata)

After spending some time together with Camilla and Martina, I decided to take a walk in the garden.

"Moonbeam, can I have a word," Grandma Martina asked Karsten.

"Yes, Grandma."

Karsten turned towards me. "I will join you shortly." I nodded before stepping out.

A light gale carrying different scents of the flowers, grass and trees, welcomed me.

Slowly, I walked up to the pergola, which had that same blue rose vine twining all around it that I had seen on my previous visit.

The kiss I had shared with him resurfaced in my brain, and I couldn’t help but smile at the precious memory.

I thought that it was our first kiss, while for him, I had already shared my whole body with him, and yet he had hungered for me.

My fingers brushed along the velvety flowers. The blue so vibrant, matching my eyes.

The smell was intoxicating, making my eyelids drop shut so I could take in its fragrance and fill my lungs.

I was so lost in the beauty of these roses that I didn’t realise when Karsten stepped out and brought his arms around my waist.

His lips rested in the crook of my neck as he softly spoke, "My rose amidst the common roses."

I leaned into the touch and feel of his lips. Letting his breath skim against my skin and his hands to assure me, I was safe.

Karsten gently turned me so I could face him. His hands held my face captive as I leaned against the bamboo pole. The rough pads of Karsten’s thumbs drew circles on my cheeks. My cheeks had filled up again.

Those obsidian peepers of his held an insane amount of tenderness and I knew that was all for me.

"Can I ask you a question?"

I smiled wholeheartedly and said, "Yes."

A nervousness swept past his face. I found him gulping, the lump in his throat bobbed. He let go of my face and took a tentative step back.

I watched him in confusion. What was he doing?

Slowly he lowered himself towards the ground, his right knee bent, kissing the grass while the left leg arched.

His love-filled gaze never left mine as he reached into his pants pocket with his right hand and extracted a ring.

Holding it between his thumb and index finger he extended it towards me and asked the question which made my world spin most deliriously.

"Arata Zyair! Will you permanently thaw this alien’s cold heart and become his wife?"

A grin so broad had crawled on his face, the one I had never witnessed before.

Happiness danced in my stomach, and for a second, I felt dizzy as if trapped in a romance novel with music and whatnot ringing in my ears.

I didn’t even realise when his smile mirrored on my face and I excitedly jumped into his arms without thinking.

"YES! A million times yes," I shouted, clinging to his buffed arms.

Catching me, he stood up and swung me around. His arms were securely around my waist while I hugged his neck.

The ecstasy, the happiness, the joy, the excitement.

I couldn’t express myself in words. This feeling that had taken over me with just a simple question, was something I hadn’t even experienced with Andy.

When you find the one, he seeps into your soul and brings out emotions you don’t even know exist within you.

I already knew he was mine in body and soul, and yet his owning me, to become his lawfully, had this unexplainable effect on me.

He slowly put me down, ensuring I was steady on my feet before holding my shaking hands. My lips wouldn’t stop smiling.

The feelings I was experiencing were reflected clearly as day on his face too.

For a while, we just held each other staring, understanding what this meant.

"Can I put the ring on your finger?" He graciously asked, his black tendrils had let loose and dipped towards his sharp nose.

Damn! I could kiss him at that moment.

"Please!" Taking my hand in his left one, he carefully slipped it on my ring finger.

My eyes dipped to watch the ring, it had a huge sapphire nestled in the centre like a flower, while an inlay of smaller gemstones lined the sides. It was a breathtakingly beautiful piece of jewellery with a design so unique, I had never seen before.

"It’s so beautiful, Karsten. I love it..." I exclaimed. My hand went to cover my mouth as I tried not to choke on the emotions trying to stumble out of me.

"Grandpa proposed to Grandma with this ring. It was hers and today she gave it to me. It was time to pass it on," he explained, bringing my hand closer to his cupid-shaped lips and placing a small kiss on the back of my hand.

My skin warmed where his lips touched me.

"Now it’s yours, Arata. My beautiful bride-to-be."

A comforting reassurance settled within me at his words.

His bride.

I was going to be his by every means possible.

Stepping closer to him, I pressed my lips to his soft ones. Placing his hands on the small of my back he pressed me fully into himself, deepening the kiss, savouring every moment of it.

We stayed like that for an eternity, lost to the world, just wrapped up in our bubble of love with nothing to feel but each other’s lips, and the swirling heat of our bodies.

We parted, and I placed my head on his shoulder, remaining in his proximity. His hand lovingly rubbed my back.

"When are we getting married?" I asked, taking a deep inhale, filling myself with his scent.

"Whenever you say. But spring is the best season to get married."

I agreed with that. I had always dreamt of being surrounded by flowers on my wedding day.

"Let’s do it in March. I want to wear red," I gladly announced, and he chuckled, kissing my head again.

"Done, whatever my Queen wants, she will get. Can I be your designer for the wedding dress?"

That would be every girl’s dream, to have her fiancé create the wedding dress for her.

"Yes, I would love that." My gaze lifted and I found his excited one.

"Let’s get married, Karsten."
