Chapter 299: His Peace

(Karsten)

Arata was adamant about going on a bike ride too. I tried to argue that I wouldn’t risk that while she was pregnant.

"I trust you, Karsten. At least you will show me where all the magic happened."

It was hard to say no to her, and I knew she was trying to distract me after this life-changing decision I had taken. My heart was in pieces and only she could hold me together.

So I texted Olphi and told him to put everything related to Twisted Rider back in the underground room so I could take Arata there.

We held each other and cherished the memories we had shared in this office before Nasia and Rahsir knocked on the door.

It was time to leave this office to my brother and let him take charge.

Standing up I stabilised Arata on her feet and let them in.

"How did it go with the Head of Departments?" I asked, standing up.

Rahsir plunged both of his hands into his pants pockets as he confidently meandered inside.

"They were still in shock, but once we start working, I am sure they will get used to it."

I placed my hand on his shoulder and stared him in the eyes. "My company is under your care now. I wish you good luck."

Rahsir gave a small nod of understanding.

I turned to face Nasia and instructed. "Pack away all of my stuff and send it home through Olphi. Aid Rahsir with settling in."

"I will do my best." She politely bowed, clutching her tablet to her chest.

Leaving Rahsir to handle this new endeavour we left the office.

Miranda was waiting for us outside with tears running down her face.

"Sir! You really are leaving?" She asked with a sniffle. Her eyes had gone red. Arata stepped forward and consoled her.

I sadly smiled, "I have to but I will be watching over you and your son. Don’t worry. If you ever need anything, don’t hesitate to call."

Miranda had been with me from the beginning. She had seen my struggles, brought me coffee on the endless nights we had worked together to take this company to where it stood.

Bore the worst of my moods.

I owed her a lot.

"Please, take care of yourself. I wish both of you happiness, moving forward."

After teary goodbyes with Miranda and the rest of my staff, we left the place which I had given my heart and soul to. They wanted to throw me a farewell party, but I refused; it would only deepen my wounds.

The car ride was quiet too with Arata stealing glances at me and squeezing my arm every now and then.

We arrived back home and had lunch. I tried to swallow but couldn’t eat much. Arata stayed by my side at all times, touching me randomly, ensuring I was alright but she didn’t push me.

She didn’t force me to smile or constantly talk to her.

She understood that this was deeply emotional for me. We snuggled in the bed and I placed my head on her pregnant belly, seeking peace and love.

An abundance of it welcomed me and I fell asleep in her arms.

When I woke up, the night had spread its wings. Arata was awake, scrolling through her phone.

Her bright eyes found me.

"Aww! My Alien from Neptune is up. How are you feeling?" She asked, putting away her phone and ruffling my hair playfully.

I sat up straight and stifled a yawn, revelling in the feeling of her touch.

"Sorry, I am being such a wuss. I have been mopping all day."

She scoffed and placed both her hands on the sides of my face. "I have said it before and I will say it again...you are allowed to feel. You are safe with me, concerning your feelings. I will never neglect them. No matter how big or small."

I wasn’t sure what good deeds I had done to have been blessed by a woman like Arata but she was one of a kind and she was all mine.

"Come, I want to show you something I have never shown anyone. Except, Olphi, but that’s also because he needed to clean it up."

Sliding my arm below her knees and the other balancing behind her back, I comfortably picked her up and carried her out of bed.

Arata hooked her arms around my neck and leaned into me. "I am excited."

With her nestled into my arms, I climbed down the stairs and ambled towards the corridor which led to the downstairs room.

"You know, once I saw you come out of the upper door and suspected you. I thought you were hiding something downstairs," she bravely told me with a smirk.

"You weren’t wrong though. I was hiding my whole other self there." Putting in my code I opened the door and carefully carried her downstairs.

"Why did you start dressing up as Twisted Rider and doing those videos?" Arata curiously asked, staring at me with her bright, confident blue eyes.

We arrived at the base of the stairs. Carefully, I let Arata down so I could use my hand sensor to open the thick door. The sensor scanned my hands and the door slid open. freewёbnoνel-com

"Maybe I was just bored playing the perfect role of the CEO of the Arsten Empire. It was the only way to let loose and be myself for a while," I concluded, guiding Arata in.

"You never suspected me?" I further asked while the neon blue lights switched on.

Excitedly Arata watched my secret lair while answering. "Your two personalities were so different, I could never have imagined Azul being you." She turned towards me and snickered. "No offence but he actually laughed with me, you laughed with me in that persona even when I bitched about you to you."

I couldn’t hold back the string of laughter that left me. "I can’t forget how you complained that my PP was small. I ensured to fuck you hard after that just for being petty."

She playfully slapped my shoulder while blushing hard. I hugged her and placed a kiss on her temple.

"I loved our meetings and what I loved most was how you felt safe with me."

"I really did. Now show me how you made the magic happen. I want to see you in a scary mask," she requested and a whole idea descended.

"Sit on the sofa and watch, Blue Rose."
