Chapter 279: Threatening Andy

(Karsten)

Arriving in Angel City one day before Valentine’s Day, I put my men to work. I wanted this day to be perfect for her.

Caysir, being a big romantic at heart and Roshra, with her ideas on the phone, helped me plan the next day.

My men arranged everything as I had asked, from drones to flowers and gifts. It was going to be spectacular, I was going to shower her with blue petals and tons of stuff I had bought for her.

Once I reached her Mansion, Caysir greeted me. The mansion was spectacularly built in the old style and with taste.

And my girl was just inside.

I asked, "Everything in check?"

"Yes, Sir!" He nodded, checking with our tech guys.

Once they had given me the green light, I texted her and knew she would come. Excitement rose inside me like bubbles in a glass of champagne.

One of the drones confirmed she was standing in the driveway so we began our mission.

Every day without seeing her had been like living and breathing in hell and now she was just beyond the gate.

Caysir handed me the bouquet of blue roses once the drones began to drop flowers and gifts.

And then I heard her sweet voice, asking her gatekeeper to open the main gate.

I took my position in front. The heavy gate opened and I was the first and only person she saw.

Beautiful and ethereal, she was dressed in a long flowering dress with a white base and multi-shaded flowers on it. Her head was covered with a red cap to hide away the state of her hair.

The scars had faded from her face, only a few remained. There was this glow like fresh red roses on her cheeks.

My heart skipped several beats and my chest tightened.

Was she blushing or just glowing because she was carrying my child?

"Phoenix!" I called her softly and her warm blue eyes sparkled with the unyielding love she held for me.

Standing inside a sea of blue petals, she was a picture I could never forget.

She began stepping towards me, and my heart jumped in excitement like that of a teenage boy who had just spotted his crush.

But before she could step out of the open gate her father’s stern voice had her halting in her tracks.

The small smile that had covered her soft lips, disappeared. Uncertainty descended in her eyes.

I knew I needed to do this the right way, so I diverted my attention towards her father and sought permission.

With blank expressions and angered eyes, he flatly said, "No."

But she remained in her spot. Her eyes found me. I was going to do right by not only her but also her family.

This was my chance to prove that I cared for her father’s decision and would win him over. I had challenged her once that I could and it was time to live up to my words.

"It’s alright Arata. Go to your room."

I gave her a nod to obey her father. With her eyes sparkling and disappointment evident on her face she slowly turned and walked away.

Her father pinned me with his gaze filled with hate. I remained in my position, determined, unyielding but also respectful.

I wasn’t going to leave this place without meeting my woman and winning over her family, especially that tough-to-crack father of hers.

The gate closed, obscuring me from her. I couldn’t even catch her scent or touch her before she was made to return.

Battling emotions that were trying to blast free so they could consume me, I closed my eyes and caged them. I couldn’t let my emotions hold me hostage, I had to be smarter.

Turning around, I was about to lean against my car when another car stopped right past mine with a screeching sound.

Opening the door, the wimp walked out. Dressed like he was about to hit a disco and holding a bouquet of red roses. Every instinct and every emotion I was trying to snub flew out, and before I knew it, I grabbed the bouquet from his hands and tossed it away.

No one was going to give roses to Arata, but me.

"Hey! What the hell?" He yelled, narrowing his eyes at me. My men got super alert and surrounded us, while I towered over him, pinning him with my glare.

He shrunk under my gaze, terror creeping into his eyes like a kitten does in front of a hellhound.

"Arata is mine now. Leave before I make you disappear," I raged out on his face, ensuring my breath was on his skin.

"...I am her... fiancé," he tried to put up a bravado but I was sure he was about to shit his pants. His scared eyes travelled between me and my men.

"Ex-fiancé. Your time is past. She is mine now, about to give birth to my child. So scoot." I indicated with my hands, showing how he should crawl away like an insect.

The surprise made his pupils dilate. He wasn’t aware of her pregnancy. A certain reality settled on his face and he took a step back.

"She is?" He asked, bewildered. A satisfying disappointment I witnessed.

Was it for Arata that she had gotten pregnant?

I didn’t care.

"Yes, now leave. I don’t want to see you in her proximity again...next time I won’t be so nice." I gave him a contemplative look from head to toe.

A perfect sunny boy look, the man wanted to be seen and validated. I guessed he had revelled in Arata’s feminine energy for far too long.

Not anymore.

She didn’t need a boy to coddle.

Hades stepped forward, and the man was the living, breathing embodiment of a beast.

Poor Andy staggered as he took a step back; losing his footing, he fell down and landed on his hips. Scurrying away like a spider, he picked himself up and ran to his car.

Quickly getting in, he drove away like a madman and in my heart I knew.

Andy will not return or be a problem again.

Another hurdle down on my way to my Blue Rose.

Only one major hurdle remained in my path now, and that was.

Zyair Kincaid.

I wasn’t sure how I was going to charm this man, but I promised myself I wouldn’t leave Angel City until I had won him over and taken my woman along with me.

I turned and stared right at her window and without a doubt, she was watching me with her love-filled eyes.
