Chapter 17: A dead Hakia

Rashin had arrived in front of the Fallen One, the fear on its face was visible as Rashin was ready to land a direct hit.

With his fist enveloped in white aura cells, Rashin was sure the attack would kill the Hakia for sure.

But just when he was about to land the hit—

Baam!

The second Hakia that had passed through the alleyway came back, kicking Rashin in the face.

Rashin went tumbling on the ground, slamming onto a table outside a small café.

Though that did not stop him.

Rashin immediately stood up, gripping the dagger in his hand even tighter.

'The second one came back...' he thought to himself, the bruises on his body already healing.

He looked to his front, watching as the Hakias stood side by side.

Luckily for Rashin, it seemed the people had evacuated the area.

Fighting the Hakias without having to worry about casualties would serve as a huge help for him.

Suddenly, one of them spoke—

"How was he able to hurt you?" one asked.

The other replied, "I do not know. Something about this man's aura... feels out of place. It's like our powers are being suppressed."

As if angered, one of the Hakias roared at Rashin, "What kind of human could possibly hope to face a Hakia in broad daylight?!"

Rashin lowered his form, powering up for a boost forward.

"We have no choice. We have to kill him and take his body to experiment. There's no holding back this time."

One by one, the two Hakias began to reveal their true forms.

Wings two times the size of a human body. Their eyes turned orange, and their bodies grew taller, with scales growing out of their skin.

'Pfft! As always, Hakias are always going to be disgusting to look at. If I don't kill them here, right now, this bad taste in my mouth... won't ever leave.'

"Come, human! Show us the nature of your power! That which you use to hurt us!"

Boom!

Rashin charged forward, making a powerful slash.

The two Hakias were quick to react, taking to the air with their wings as they began to fly around in circles.

As the dagger in Rashin's grasp disappeared, it gave way to the birth of an arrow.

[Magic Bow - Lvl 10]

He wasted no time.

Rashin immediately aimed it at one of the Hakias, firing the burning arrow at it.

Pheww!!!

The arrow pierced its wing.

"What...?! "

It fell to the ground.

Not even a second later, right before the Hakia was about to make an impact with the ground, Rashin had arrived, his fist clenched with aura burning around it.

"Here... This time, I'll make sure it connects."

Rashin landed the punch. It was so powerful his fist practically went through the Hakia, sending a huge boom around the area that shattered the glass on the buildings.

"Impp... possible... from a single punch?" the Hakia spoke, its body turning into hard crystals in tiny pieces that were dropping to the ground.

[You have slain a Hakia.]

[You have gained 3 Mana Cores.]

Finished, Rashin removed his hand from the monster's guts, now turning his attention to the Hakia standing behind him.

"Next."

The Hakia sighed, "What a disappointment. And here I thought he would have grown some balls. Seems like a lowly human is all it took to kill him."

Rashin did not care what the monster had to say.

He began to walk toward him, the white cell aura practically pouring from his body.

"And you, damn human! I don't know how you possess the power to kill my people, but one thing is for sure, I am a Master Rank! Unlike this Bronze Rank, it won't be so easy defeating me."

The Hakia grinned, clapping his palms together.

"This is where you die!"

As the Hakia slammed its palm on the ground, sharp spikes began to grow at a rapid pace, heading toward Rashin.

Rashin jerked up from the ground, running on top of a building with the plan of catching the monster off guard.

That did not work.

The monster suddenly boosted into the sky, but not alone—he grabbed Rashin's foot while he was at it.

"Don't go feeling cocky 'cause you killed one of my own!!!"

The Hakia threw Rashin to the ground, watching as Rashin's body slammed against the hard road.

Before Rashin could get up, the Hakia had sped toward him, landing right on top of Rashin before landing a single blow to the face.

The ground cracked like glass upon the impact.

"Come now, can you see the difference?! Can you? Whether you have the power to kill us or not, you are still a weak human. Compared to the rest of my kind, I am considered weak, and yet, you can't even beat me in a battle. Huh?"

The Hakia was taken aback—Rashin was lifting his huge fist away from his face.

"You are... the weakest, correct?"

The monster could not speak. How Rashin survived the blow to the face was still a mystery to him.

"If that's the case, then I'll try my best not to disappoint."

"Eh?"

From the side, Rashin's dagger came speeding forward until it stabbed the Fallen One at the side of the head.

The monster immediately fell to the side, screaming in pain as the white cell aura infused his body.

Rashin stood up, taking a quick step back.

As he stretched his hand forward, the dagger came to his calling and found its way to Rashin's grasp.

"Damn you, human! Just where do you get off—"

Rashin raised his foot.

"A good Hakia is a dead one. Now die and be free of this world."

Bash! Bash! Bash!

Rashin did not stop. He kept using his feet to stomp the monster on the head.

With every stomp, the monster grew weaker, blood splashing all over, its skull cracking under the might of Rashin's attack.

For the last strike, Rashin spun his dagger.

"It's over."

He said, before stabbing the monster in the heart.

The monster's last words whispered into the wind.

"They are coming. You can't stop them, you lowly human."
