My Aloof Husband, Mr. Drexler, Dotes Me Excessively-Chapter 99: Is This Chicken Soup for Noah Drexler?
But why, when he thought of Noah Drexler being able to stand up for her openly and vent for her, did his heart feel so uncomfortable?
"It’s not her?" Upon hearing Dustin Hughes’ words, Melanie Trueman laughed mockingly twice and then, full of jealousy, said, "It seems you’re really blinded by her looks. You still believe her. She’s nothing but a scheming and vicious woman!"
"Shut up." Dustin Hughes frowned, finally unable to hold back and interrupted Melanie Trueman’s tirade.
"You don’t know yet, do you? She already knows about my relationship with you!" Melanie Trueman paused for a moment before reminding him.
On the red carpet, if it weren’t for that sentence from Summer Shawcross, she wouldn’t have lost her mind, giving her an opportunity to take advantage.
As Melanie Trueman’s voice fell, Dustin Hughes turned his head towards her in astonishment.
"She’s no longer the fallen daughter you can manipulate at will. You must destroy her, or else... she’ll destroy you!" Melanie Trueman continued.
The expression on Dustin Hughes’ face darkened a bit. After a while, he turned around, his back to Melanie Trueman, and spoke.
"You don’t need to worry about my affairs. You just need to remember, I can make you famous, and I can completely destroy you! From now on, don’t play tricks under my nose!"
"After this blows over, I’ll find a way to get you out."
With these words, he left without any hesitation, leaving Melanie Trueman alone, her face full of resentment.
...
The Hillside Villa.
After returning, Summer Shawcross angrily went back to the bedroom and locked the door.
The bedroom was very quiet. In her mind, she kept recalling the coquettish woman’s voice she heard on the phone today, which angered her even more and made her feel uncomfortable!
As she sat on the sofa, simmering, the aroma of food unconsciously wafted into her nose.
She was stunned, then shifted her attention to the paper bags on the coffee table.
It was the snacks and pastries Noah Drexler brought back from Lyra, which she hadn’t had the chance to taste yet.
A hunger pang hit her stomach. Summer Shawcross instinctively licked her lips. She hadn’t eaten much tonight, though she drank a lot of juice, but a trip to the bathroom left her stomach empty.
Now she was quite uncomfortably hungry...
Thinking of this, she couldn’t help but reach out and take the paper bag containing roast duck, but her face was full of conflict.
After ten seconds of hesitation, she gritted her teeth and angrily threw the paper bag back onto the coffee table.
She wasn’t going to eat anything that villain Noah Drexler brought back!
Just as she was angrily starving, the bedroom door was suddenly knocked.
"Ma’am, it’s me." The butler’s voice came from outside the door.
Hearing this, Summer Shawcross sighed, shifted her gaze away from the things on the coffee table, then got up from the sofa, walked to the door, and opened it.
The butler was standing at the door with a tray, on which was a steaming bowl of chicken soup.
The alluringly colored chicken soup also had a chicken drumstick in it.
Such a sight, such an irresistible aroma, immediately made Summer Shawcross even hungrier.
"Ma’am, remember to let the master drink this chicken soup later." The butler said mysteriously to Summer Shawcross while holding the chicken soup.
This chicken soup is for Noah Drexler?
Upon hearing the butler’s words, Summer Shawcross couldn’t help but feel a bit dissatisfied, but didn’t refuse either. Instead, she reached out and took the bowl of chicken soup from the tray.
