A few seconds later, the call connected, and inside the phone, Flynn Hughes’s complaining voice came through.

"I say, boss, what time is it now... It’s not even working hours yet..."

Before he could finish, Noah Drexler’s cold voice cut in.

"Help me investigate someone, I want the most detailed information."

"Who?" Flynn’s voice immediately sobered up, asking seriously.

"Veridian Group, Dustin Hughes!"

When Summer Shawcross groggily woke up, the man beside her was already gone.

She rubbed her eyes, reached over to grab her phone from the bedside table, glanced at the time, and was startled.

It was already two in the afternoon.

The butler, surprisingly, hadn’t come to wake her up today. She thought it was probably because Noah Drexler had come back late last night and woke her up, so the butler kindly let her sleep a few more hours.

Thinking of this, she suddenly recalled that when she was sleeping last night, she accidentally touched the damp spot on Noah Drexler’s shirt.

Was he really injured?

With that thought, Summer’s heart tightened, and she quickly got up and rushed into the bathroom.

Her movements were quick, and she finished her shower and changed clothes within ten minutes, then left the bedroom and went downstairs.

"Where’s Noah Drexler?" Summer turned her head, glancing around the first floor, but didn’t see any sign of Noah Drexler.

"The gentleman went to the group early in the morning," the butler replied, glancing at Summer a couple more times, then spoke to her with a concerned expression.

"I’ve made chicken soup for you, remember to drink more later and replenish your body properly!"

The butler’s tone and demeanor made Summer a bit surprised, especially when he mentioned she should replenish herself, it strangely made her face feel warm.
