Preparations

Aisha took a breath, and then she began to explain what she saw.

"For context, the end goal of this hidden realm is related to a strange Pagoda in its center. I do not know what the Pagoda does or what is inside. Even after Master repaired fate, everything related to what could be inside is blank to me." This surprised everyone. If some aspects of fate couldn’t be detected even after Christopher repaired it, then there must be something very strange going on with that Pagoda.

"I’ve known this for a while, and despite its oddity, I didn’t deem it as an issue we need to worry about at the moment. I still don’t, but that’s not what I’m here to explain." She sighed.

"The Pagoda is protected by a powerful blizzard made up of an uncountable number of strange ice shards. If one doesn’t have the right means, being caught in this blizzard will lead to existence erasure, and conventional defenses do nothing against it. Again, if it were just that, I wouldn’t have brought up the issue." She lingered for a moment before continuing.

"The issue is that the blizzard is growing at a rapid pace, and it is showing no signs of stopping." Hearing this, everyone’s expressions turned dark.

Existence erasure was something almost no one within the Primordial Expanse had the means to inflict, let alone defend against.

Everyone in the cohort had it slightly better as they had faced the onslaught of Scarlet who was capable of existence erasure more than once, and as such, they had developed some means to defend themselves against it to an extent.

However, the same couldn’t be said for the soldiers. None of them could defend against something like that, so if the blizzard expanded far enough to affect the various strongholds, the chances were that the soldier’s expedition would be cut short as they would be forced to retreat into the Primordial Expanse.

"So what then? Sure, we might be fine to an extent, but we can’t exactly extend our protection to all the soldiers. We can barely defend ourselves from existence erasure, talk less of them." Chiara said with a troubled expression.

"Let’s calm down for a moment," Thanatos said lightly, and everyone eased up slightly.

"Aisha, does ice resistance help against the blizzard in any sort of way?" Belladonna was the one who presented the question. Aisha hummed and went silent for a moment, and then she nodded.

"It’s not ideal, but it does offer a little bit of protection from the blizzard. However, the resistance would need to be of an extreme level if someone wants to resist the blizzard semi-effectively." Hearing this, Lenax perked up.

"I have quasi-cold immunity. I could shed some of my scales. Maybe we could put them on the walls to increase their resistance and use the excess for the soldiers." The suggestion sat well with everyone.

"That works. We can use the portals to transport things between each fortress and make everything faster." Umbra nodded.

At that moment, Eidrasil joined the connection, and everyone looked at her with some surprise.

"I can be of some assistance as well." She spoke gently, and everyone turned to her.

"My abilities aren’t simply tied to healing people, I can heal more abstract things like concepts. So I could allow my mini-versions to keep healing existence around each fortress and make them more stable." The news was surprising, but then again, it made sense. It wasn’t an exaggeration to call Eidrasil the embodiment of life within the Primordial Expanse, so this much should be expected.

Moreover, this gave Aisha an idea.

’Master can use his weapon, Norn, to inflict existence erasure by destroying fate threads, thereby destroying whatever is tied to said fate threads. I should be able to do the opposite and strengthen the fate threads of people to prevent them from getting erased.’ She nodded to herself and relayed the information to the others.

"That should be possible." Silver nodded in agreement.

"Yeah, but you’re quite busy as it is. Do you have the mental energy to support 10,000 fates at once?" Umbra asked, and Aisha shrugged.

"My main body is on the highest point of the Haven of the Enlightened. My mind is clearer than ever. Besides, my sect members are inside each fortress. They can help." Hearing her assurance, everyone decided to trust her.

"It’s not too much, but I could use my Throne of Wailing Souls to boost the resistance of the soldiers in my stronghold as well." He ventured. The throne enhanced his abilities. If he could enhance his means of resisting existence erasure, he could extend it to the soldiers and increase their chances of survival.

"If you think it will work, then go for it," Silver said simply before tilting his head and asking.

"Also, is going underground a viable option?" This made everyone pause, but before they could start speculating, Aisha burst their bubbles.

"It maintains a relatively straight path of movement, yes. But another thing I’ve observed is that the blizzard seems to be actively malicious and goes after anything that moves. Even if you stay underground, it will just rip through the ground to find you. The same thing applies if you try and fly over it." Aisha knew this because she observed the fate of creatures that had been close to the blizzard before they got devoured by it.

Some of them had burrowed deep underground, some had tried to fly over it, and some had tried to tank it with their powerful bodies, but the result was the same as they would be wiped away and their fate threads would be eradicated completely.

She did notice, though, that the more powerful beasts with interesting abilities were able to resist the effects of the blizzard, and she noticed that their fate threads were a lot tougher than others. Which was how she made the connection that existence erasure was the problem.

Still, knowing the problem and knowing how to deal with it were two different things. Thankfully, no one here was a pushover.

’We have so many things at our disposal. If we can’t handle this without Master’s help, then I’ll be disappointed in myself. Talk less of him.’ Aisha sighed in her heart.

Jenny frowned slightly as she looked at her bandaged arms.

Even with the regular healing sessions from her uncle Auro, her arms were still pretty banged up, and she wouldn’t be able to use them properly for a while.

’Just my luck, of all the things to encounter it was a blizzard that could cause existence erasure.’ She sighed.

If anyone else heard this, they’d be surprised. And if Aisha heard this, she’d be very surprised. As indeed, the blizzard Jenny had endured for an hour was part of the blizzard which is at the center of the hidden realm.

Otherwise, she would have healed from such a thing in a matter of hours, but resisting such fierce force that could erase things from existence was a talk task, and she did it for an hour.

As for her turtle, it was a creature that specialized in defending itself from all sorts of different means, existence erasure being one of them.

Their efforts allowed them to resist the blizzard, but Jenny suffered the most since she wasn’t inherently as durable as her summoned beast.

By now, her entourage had recovered and were once again flying towards the center of the hidden realm. However, it was at that moment space rippled next to her, and then a being emerged.

It looked like a dark blue jellyfish, and its appearance didn’t surprise Jenny who was seated atop her turtle.

She only looked mildly surprised as this creature, which was another one of her summoned beasts came out of its own accord.

Then her surprise turned into concern.

This jellyfish of hers was one of the more cherished beasts she had, and among other things, its ability was a big reason.

It wasn’t particularly strong or durable. However, it had incredible instincts.

It wasn’t the same as detecting danger through fate, but this jellyfish had instincts so keen it might as well be foresight. It was because of this that Jenny had avoided many dangerous situations in her life, and she attributed a lot of her success to it.

The thing was, the jellyfish was a recluse, and didn’t like to come out unless it had to.

"Gamma... what’s wrong?" Jenny asked carefully as some of its tentacles moved to wrap around her bandaged arms. She could feel the worry and compassion coming through their bond as it observed her injuries for a moment, and then it eventually stopped and faced her.

She then felt a wave of information enter her mind. Gamma couldn’t speak, but she could understand its intentions perfectly, and what it was trying to communicate boiled down to.

’Immense danger ahead.’

It wasn’t a lot, but that was enough for Jenny to call for the entire entourage to halt.
