Multiple Personalities-Chapter 487: The Plan

Just as they approached the Crystal Ball, a mysterious figure suddenly appeared before them. It was a person dressed in a dark cloak, their face shrouded in shadow, obscuring their features.

"You've finally arrived." The dark-cloaked figure let out a low, rumbling laugh.

"Who are you? Why did you lead us here?" Shen Jingqi asked cautiously.

The dark-cloaked figure slowly lifted their head, revealing a pair of eyes glowing with red light. "Who I am does not matter; what matters is the power contained within you. Li Baiyu, the power of your sub-personality fusion is what I have been searching for."

"What exactly do you want?" Li Baiyu asked angrily.

The dark-cloaked figure let out a cold laugh, "I want to use your power to open the portal to another world and realize my grand plan."

"Another world? What plan?" Shen Jingqi pressed on.

The dark-cloaked figure did not answer him but continued, "Li Baiyu, if you are willing to cooperate with me, I can restore your lost sub-personalities to you, along with endless power and wealth."

Li Baiyu shook her head without hesitation, "I will not cooperate with you; your plan must be ill-intentioned."

A flash of anger crossed the eyes of the dark-cloaked figure, "Since you refuse to cooperate, don't blame me for being rude." With that, he waved his hands, and a group of dark creatures surged out from all around the cave, surrounding them.

These dark creatures came in various shapes, some resembling bats, others resembling spiders. They emitted sharp cries and lunged towards them.

"Be careful, everyone!" Shen Jingqi shouted, swinging the weapon in his hand as he engaged in fierce battle with the dark creatures.

Li Baiyu also concentrated her energy, attempting to mobilize the mysterious power within her body once again. However, this time the power seemed somewhat unstable; she could only emit a faint glow, causing some interference to the dark creatures but unable to repel them as before.

"What's happening? Why is my power weakening?" Li Baiyu thought anxiously.

In the intense battle, Shen Jingqi and Uncle Li gradually became exhausted. There were too many dark creatures; they couldn't hold them back.

"This isn't working; we must find a way to break through." Uncle Li shouted.

Shen Jingqi glanced around and noticed a narrow passage on one side of the cave. "Let's go that way!" he shouted.

The three, while fending off the attacks of the dark creatures, charged towards the passage. Just as they were about to reach the passage, the dark-cloaked figure suddenly appeared at the entrance, blocking their way.

"Did you think you could escape?" The dark-cloaked figure sneered.

Shen Jingqi gritted his teeth, "Let's give it all we've got!" He swung his weapon and charged at the dark-cloaked figure. The figure dodged Shen Jingqi's attack effortlessly and then kicked him, sending him flying.

Seeing this, Li Baiyu felt a surge of anger and determination. She rushed at the dark-cloaked figure without any care, and the mysterious power within her body suddenly exploded, forming a powerful shockwave that repelled the figure a few steps.

"I didn't expect you could unleash such power." The dark-cloaked figure said in surprise.

Li Baiyu ignored him, seizing the opportunity to pull Shen Jingqi and Uncle Li into the passage. The passage was pitch black, and they had to grope their way forward.

"We need to get rid of those dark creatures quickly." Uncle Li said.

However, they hadn't gone far when they heard footsteps behind them. The dark creatures had caught up.

"Speed up!" Shen Jingqi shouted.

They desperately ran through the passageway, unsure of how long they'd run, until finally, they saw a glimmer of light ahead. Rushing towards the light, they found themselves in a strange place.

It was a barren desert, the scorching sun hanging high, baking the ground. In the distance, some ruins could be seen, remnants of an abandoned city.

"Where are we?" Li Baiyu asked, panting.

Shen Jingqi shook his head, "I don't know either, but at least we've temporarily escaped those dark creatures."

Just as they breathed a sigh of relief, the ground began to shake violently. A group of massive Sand Worms then emerged from underground, surrounding them.

These Sand Worms were enormous, with bodies covered in hard scales. They opened their gaping mouths, revealing sharp teeth, and lunged at them.

"Not another problem!" Uncle Li said helplessly.

The three picked up their weapons once more and engaged in battle with the Sand Worms. The Sand Worms' strength was formidable, and their attacks didn't seem to cause much harm. Moreover, the number of Sand Worms was increasing, leaving them on the brink of despair.

Just when they felt powerless, Li Baiyu's body once again emitted that intense glow. Like flames, the glow forced the surrounding Sand Worms to retreat a few steps.

"This light... Could it be the key to dealing with these Sand Worms?" Shen Jingqi said in surprise.

Li Baiyu focused intently, trying to control the glow. The light grew stronger, forming a massive wall of light that kept the Sand Worms at bay. The Sand Worms continuously rammed against the light wall but were unable to break through.

After a while, realizing they couldn't break through the light wall, the Sand Worms retreated back underground. The glow gradually dissipated, leaving Li Baiyu feeling weak and almost collapsing to the ground.

Shen Jingqi and Uncle Li quickly rushed to support her. "Senior, are you okay?" Shen Jingqi asked with concern.

Li Baiyu shook her head, "I'm fine, just that the power consumption was too great."

They looked around and found that the desert seemed endless. "We need to find a place to rest and figure out what to do next." Uncle Li said.

The three found a relatively safe spot to sit and began discussing strategies.

"I think that dark-cloaked figure won't let us go; he will definitely keep pursuing us." Shen Jingqi said.

Li Baiyu nodded, "You're right, we must quickly find a way to counter him. However, I still don't know how to stabilize and control the power within me."

"Perhaps there are clues hidden in this desert." Uncle Li said, "Let's look around; maybe we can find something useful."

The three of them stood up and started exploring the desert. After walking for a long time, they discovered an ancient temple. The temple doors were shut tight, with a mysterious aura emanating around them.

"Could there be some secret within this temple?" Shen Jingqi said.

They stepped forward and tried to push open the temple doors. However, the doors were sealed by an invisible force and wouldn't budge.

"What now? They won't open." Uncle Li said, frowning.

Li Baiyu closed her eyes again, feeling the aura around them. After a moment, she opened her eyes, "I can sense a power in this temple similar to the one in my body. Maybe we can use this power to open the doors."
