The 2011 Huaxia Internet Conference held several chapters in the following days. Luzhou did not appear again. Instead, technicians sent by the company came to the stage to give speeches and exchanges.

The meeting ended like this, and it did not change the course of any history. Even if someone has made a lot of nonsense at the meeting.

It's just another day, most people are disgusted again. That was when a large number of research reports that Lu Zhou handed over to Zhong Cheng were published.

In the report, there are some strange things mixed in. Both straightforward and revealing. Occasionally people who eat melons take a peek, and there is a bit of sweat behind them.

Like responding to Ma Huateng's criticism? Well, no one knows if it is.

......

On September 1st, the school opened.

Wang Qiangdong got up early in the morning. After getting up, he picked up his mobile phone and clicked on WeChat. Seeing that there was nothing important about the work group in the studio, he continued to look down. When everything was in order, he got up to brush his teeth and wash his face.

He squatted into the pit, took out his phone again, and clicked to open the Moments page.

Like, like, like...

Some are classmates who go to work in the company after graduation, some are beauties who get up in the morning and take selfies, some are students in lower grades doing club activities, and some are elders who forward chicken soup of life...

With a long yawn, he picked out a photo of Wang Lina's bag from the album. "Your bag is enough for me to eat takeaway for half a year. @..."

After shielding the elder again, Wang Qiangdong patted his numb leg and stood up slowly.

After leaving the toilet and sitting at the computer desk, he opened the official account as usual.

"Girlfriend who behaves like this may be cheating! 》

"Miss and I have been in love for three years"

He flipped through the pages.

Although I always call it "the company's product, which needs to be tested", it seems that many people around me have this habit. It's alright to look at the circle of friends, and look at the official account when you are free. I don't look too special.

He yawned for a while, but then noticed that the official account was following a "Wei Toutiao" account by default. He clicked it again, and time flew by.

By the time he decided to download the Wei Toutiao app, it was almost noon.

There are a bunch of messy thoughts in my mind, especially when my stomach is empty, my mood is inevitably low.

After thinking about it, Wang Qiangdong threw the phone aside and opened the thousand degrees of the browser.

"WeChat..."

I just lost two words, and some completion information is prompted at the bottom of the thousand-degree input box. It should be the most recent optimization? ! Wang Qiangdong is not very clear.

The top one, "Is WeChat from a penguin?"

Then, "Who made WeChat's application?"

"WeChat was criticized by Ma Huateng"

"How to find Sister Xiao on WeChat"

"How does WeChat make girls?"

......

Maybe, these are keywords that other people often search for? ! Wang Qiangdong was embarrassed when he looked at the latter few.

“Short time in bed with girlfriend”

"Girlfriend used to work part-time"

"How to break up peacefully"

"Startups are under pressure"

“Which is the best credit card”

"Beijing Tourism"

"WeChat Profit Model"

"How much does it cost to make a WeChat"

"What is the future of the advertising industry?"

He subconsciously asked the search engine for answers to various questions, and he thought of what was "asked", and the plausible "answer" pages eventually turned into dozens.

Looking at the time again, it turned out to be two o'clock in the afternoon.

He thought about it, and then waited for Wang Lina to come back and make dinner.

WeChat Wang Qiangdong, Bao?? Bao), what time do you go home from get out of class?"

Wang Lina, "Go back."

Wang Qiangdong, "That's fine. Bring a pho downstairs, I'm hungry."

Wang Lina, "Go back and give you something to eat=="

Wang Qiangdong, "I'm exhausted."

Wang Lina, "Don't say I'll pay for it. Save money on the next instant noodles."

That was really embarrassing, and Wang Qiangdong ignored it after three points. And when he opened the WeChat official website to see the update, he didn't expect to see some different reports.

"Seven Stars: A New Approach to Humanity and Social Psychology in the Two Sides of Data"

text:

With the upgrading and popularization of 3G network infrastructure, today's mobile Internet is redefining people's way of life. Data is becoming more and more massive and unstructured, and this is also a new opportunity and a new challenge for all Internet companies.

Here, we throw a new perspective: Internet companies are using data to understand the human nature of users, which may bring about some social problems that we have not considered before. Although the relevant conclusions may not be correct, it is a new thinking direction and a bold attempt.

1) Social application addiction has become a possibility.

WeChat was born in September 2010, and in the following months, important versions including Moments and Official Accounts were successively released.

Different from what ordinary users understand, Moments have been fine-tuning and testing thousands of small versions in the iterative process. According to the data provided by WeChat, we know that the most frequent changes are mainly concentrated in the following points: the interaction method of publishing pictures, the style and color of icons, font size, line spacing, and picture compression.

Note that this is something we thought was less important, but it has become an important part of WeChat's success.

Thanks to the voice and video calling version of WeChat, which has accumulated tens of millions of users, these tens of millions of users have become the "experimental field" for subsequent iterations of WeChat. Wechat engineers showed us the data in the table below, which is the adjustment data for the font size of the text attached to the circle of friends in a certain version. The difference between before and after optimization is as high as 30%.

This is, how did the experiment work?

Wechat engineers will group a large number of users according to user attributes before testing. Taking the font size as an example, the font of the Moments of Group A’s 10,000 users is 9px (pixels), and the Moments of Group B’s 10,000 users is 9px (pixels). The version font is 10px. They are regularly and quantitatively tested among different users, which is very similar to the "controlled variable experiment" often referred to in middle school experiments. And when the optimization results peaked, they moved on to the next experiment.

This is true even for creatives that change every day.

Although WeChat's engineers couldn't explain the reason for the increase in data, the result was right, perhaps more important.

And this has resulted in a new way of life for people to use WeChat. On average, users need to spend up to 2 hours a day in the circle of friends, which is more than 10% of the daily waking time of normal people.

The same thing happened in the WeChat version of the official account. Now, Wechat engineers told us that they are trying to use a test method to finally control the time users spend on Wechat every day, so as to prevent users from overdrawing their interest in Wechat.

According to them, starting from the second half of this year, the number of visits to Moments at two o'clock in the morning has been increasing rapidly, and they are trying to weaken the "social addiction" of its users, which may become a potential health threat after all.

It's unbelievable that you have hundreds of engineers watching you across the screen every day, trying to keep you on it long enough without you getting bored too quickly.

And there is potential for abuse here. Practical knowledge? Nothing more than that.

2) The truth and falsity of the data.

The idea came from a data research cooperation between the laboratory and Orange Technology, a subsidiary of Dream Valley Technology. Before this, a lot of our research only happened on the WeChat dataset. Comparing the two, we were surprised to find an unusual difference.

Orange Browser is an important product of Orange Technology, and now they are the second largest mobile browser manufacturer in China, with a total user base of tens of millions. Every day, a large number of mobile phone users search for information through its orange navigation. At present, they still have not entered the field of search engines, and all users' searches will be processed by the cooperative company Qiandu.

WeChat social networking, especially in the circle of friends, people are more about showing their personal beauty, it may be "false". While searching, people often reveal the "truth" unconsciously.

A cooperation between WeChat and BMW has always been a classic case we have discussed. Why are users who have no financial ability to buy BMW cars more inclined to forward this push advertisement? WeChat engineers are reluctant to answer such questions, because for them, the results are right, then they will continue to test and use this strategy in more ads. And while we're less willing to jump to conclusions, our gut tells us that this behavior may be related to "vanity." Just because the amount of data is difficult to support this statement, we will not list it for the time being.

The data provided by Orange Technology has undergone a lot of data cleaning and desensitization (removing sensitive personal information). At first, we did not pay much attention to it, but when the research started, we became more and more aware of the importance of this behavior.

"Murder", "Suicide", "Girlfriend cheating", "Ding Ding short", "Plastic surgery", "Quick money", "Ri Ri Cai", "People from other provinces", "Manhole cover"...

Leaving aside the size of the data, the sheer number of search terms in the data makes us realize how difficult this research is. Users trust products more than we think, and they will ask a lot of questions to search engines, which may involve multi-dimensional social issues such as illegality, morality, money fraud, and regional and religious discrimination.

We believe that the spiritual outlook of society as a whole is high-spirited, but the data set composed of many unconscious behaviors finally presents a different kind of "reality".

Because most of the users of Orange Technology are WeChat users themselves. Therefore, the laboratory proposed a new way of discussion and research. For this reason, the leader of this research even imagined a scenario: a man who shows affection in the circle of friends, has a successful career, and has a beautiful family, but one day he However, in the orange browser, I searched for girlfriend cheating, dicks, credit card applications, and even violent and **** things. It sounds crazy, but as before, it has the potential to correlate, allowing the real and the fake to combine into the real real. It is not only conducive to individual and group psychological research~www.novelbuddy.com~, but also a possibility of control, surveillance, suspicion and even conviction.

Currently, this research is on hold. Because WeChat rejected our application for data cooperation, they believe that even from the perspective of humanities and social science research, these data will still cause unnecessary social panic even after cleaning and desensitization, and there is currently no relevant Laws and regulations regulate how to properly use these data for research.

That's right. But it's not quite right either.

As far as I know, WeChat is using multi-product user data for mining, and the results generated in the middle will eventually be applied to several credit products of Menggu Payment. This can be simply understood as WeChat mining the habits of users, and algorithmically "discriminates" against users with low incomes and those who are unable to repay.

The truth is, they can be used, just from a profit-making point of view. And unprofitable, they are reluctant to try.

......

The above are all the results of this study.

Note: The unfinished part of the research is being restarted recently, and WeChat is currently discussing plans to open relevant data to the research field.
