Chapter 819: Chapter 819: You Can Tell He’s a Doting Girl Dad

Laura Yates recalled and said, "He just mentioned he was going out of town, didn’t give me the specifics. Their tasks are kept confidential, so I didn’t ask much. What’s up?"

Audrey Sutton glanced towards the escalator direction and said, "I saw someone who looked a lot like my second brother just now, and I thought I ran into him by chance."

Laura Yates smiled and said, "Isn’t that a bit too coincidental? Besides, he knows I’m here, if he were here too, he would tell me."

Phoebe King couldn’t help but say, "Not necessarily, I see the way that guy behaves, he definitely puts his tasks first. Even if he’s here, he probably won’t have time for you and your son before completing his mission."

Laura Yates lightly smiled and said, "I’m aware of that, so I don’t want to distract him. He’ll come to find me once he’s done with work, as long as he takes care of himself."

Audrey Sutton: "I have no idea how my second brother accumulated so much virtue in his past life to win you as a great wife in this one."

Laura Yates playfully glanced at Audrey Sutton and said, "Don’t tease me. How did your test results go?"

Audrey Sutton giggled and replied, "I’m pregnant. There’s going to be another little one in the family."

Phoebe King exclaimed, "Really? Looks like the two of us can really hit the gym for post-baby workouts together." 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖

Laura Yates sighed in mock regret, "Ah, the readers will have to wait another year."

Phoebe King: "Speaking of which, now that you’re pregnant, won’t your husband drag you back home immediately and lock you up? That would be such a downer!"

Audrey Sutton: "I’ve already talked to him about it. Initially, he did plan that, but I convinced him otherwise. Though, he’ll be keeping a close eye on me along the way."

Phoebe King: "You probably can’t even eat little cakes, that’s one reason I don’t want Teacher Sutton around too; they make such a big deal out of everything."

The first half of her sentence complaining about Teacher Sutton’s fussiness, in the second half, her face was full of girlish anticipation, "Speaking of which, Teacher Sutton should be arriving at the airport soon; I’ll make a call to check."

Upon hearing that Stephen Sutton had landed, Phoebe King immediately took Summer with her and took a taxi to the airport.

Though Stephen Sutton had told Phoebe King not to come to pick him up, when he saw Phoebe King holding Summer and waving joyfully at him at the airport, his heart filled up instantly.

Phoebe King grabbed Summer’s little hand, waving it towards Stephen Sutton, mimicking a child’s voice, "Daddy’s here. Did our Summer miss Daddy?"

Though Summer couldn’t talk, as soon as she saw Stephen Sutton, the usually calm Summer got excited and reached out to pounce on Stephen Sutton.

Stephen Sutton reached out to hug his daughter into his arms and said to Phoebe King, "Didn’t I tell you not to come? I could’ve gone to find you all."

Phoebe King clung to Stephen Sutton’s arm and coyly said, "I missed you, and as soon as I heard you landed, I couldn’t wait to come find you."

Faced with Phoebe King’s sweet words, Stephen Sutton just replied with mild irritation, "If you really missed me that much, you wouldn’t have left me and taken the kid out to play."

Phoebe King: "I went out so you could focus on your work and not get distracted by me."

Stephen Sutton: "Aren’t you considerate."

In fact, Phoebe King was quite aware; her going out to play with their daughter while pregnant made Stephen Sutton more worried. However, if Audrey Sutton and the others left, and Stephen had to go to school during the day, staying home alone would be too boring for her.

...

The dinner was set at the hotel they checked into, but Faye Xavier, Luc, and the girls didn’t come—probably off to a nearby bar.

When ordering, Audrey Sutton looked at the menu and ordered several dishes, seeming extremely hungry, but once the food arrived, she felt nauseous after only a few bites.

She finally took a couple of plum cakes that Phoebe King brought from home to barely fill her stomach.

Phoebe King teased, "Don’t they say sour for boys and spicy for girls? You might be carrying a little brother in there."

Originally saying it didn’t matter if it was a boy or girl, Shane Warner’s action paused when he heard Phoebe King’s comment.

Audrey Sutton noticed Shane’s reaction and couldn’t help but ask, "Why the pause? Don’t you want a boy?"

Shane nonchalantly put some food into his bowl and said, "As long as it’s your child, it doesn’t matter if it’s a boy or girl."

Audrey Sutton: "But it seemed like you were a bit disappointed when Sister Phoebe said that."

Shane: "Was I? You’re mistaken."

Audrey Sutton secretly smiled. Though she didn’t care about the baby’s gender either, seeing Shane’s reaction made her more eager for a girl.

Phoebe King: "Shane surely wants a daughter. He’s such a daughter-fool; don’t be fooled by how stern he is with Anna. If it were a girl, he would toss all his principles away, just like Teacher Sutton!"

While feeding Summer, Stephen Sutton glanced sideways at Phoebe King, hearing her continue, "Before, if I messed things up a bit at home, he would scold me, but now when Summer messes with his stuff, he doesn’t even mind."

Audrey Sutton: "Summer isn’t as mischievous as Anna. Sometimes, Anna acts up so much even I want to spank him."

"Hey!" Sitting on Shane Warner’s lap, Anna, as if understanding their conversation, made a sound of protest, while simultaneously waving a small hand at the dining table.

Fortunately, Shane Warner quickly moved the soup bowl next to Audrey Sutton out of the way, preventing the soup from spilling out.

As everyone chatted, Lana Holloway stood up softly and said, "Um... take your time, I’ll head up to rest first."

Sitting beside her, Barry Barrett nodded and said, "Alright, go take a hot bath; it should make you feel better."

Lana Holloway nodded, gave everyone an apologetic smile, and then left the table.

After Lana left, Audrey Sutton asked, "What’s up with Lana?"

Barry Barrett explained, "Lana’s caught a bit of a cold. She just took some cold medicine and is probably feeling drowsy from it."

Audrey Sutton: "Is it serious?"

Barry Barrett: "I asked her, and she said she’s fine, but when we were shopping in the afternoon, she seemed quite distracted. I’ll go check on her later; maybe she’ll feel better after some medicine."

"I’m full too, you all take your time eating." With that, Norman Sutton put down his utensils and promptly walked out the door.

Phoebe King, wearing a watching-the-show expression, laughed and said, "Let’s see if the kid knows how to seize the opportunity and show some care."

Audrey Sutton: "He shouldn’t be that dumb, right?"

Barry Barrett pursed his lips in disagreement, "Hard to say, I think he’s the ’drink more hot water’ type."
