Mr. Warner, Your Wife is Running Away Again!-Chapter 814: Her Thoughts Are Dangerous
Around seven o’clock, the kids started waking up one after another, prompting the parents to get up as well. After washing up, they went straight to the dining car for breakfast.
Audrey Sutton stirred the porridge in the bowl with a spoon and, once it seemed to be the right temperature, brought the spoon to Anna’s mouth.
This little guy had quite the appetite, and if he wasn’t fed first, he’d start reaching for things on the table himself.
Audrey couldn’t even remember how many bowls the little guy had knocked over.
Barry Barrett and Lana Holloway walked into the dining car together, and Audrey asked, "Where’s Brother Seraphina? How late did you guys stay up?"
Barry pinched Anna’s cheek and replied, "About one o’clock. When I knocked on her door just now, she said she’d shower first before coming for breakfast."
Flora Lane said enviously, "I actually wanted to play games with you guys."
Barry: "Heh, heh, starting to think being single is better, huh?"
Flora looked up to see Lucian Quinn staring at her, and immediately said, "It wasn’t me who said that."
Lucian slowly peeled the egg in his hand and softly said, "If you want to play, you can just go play."
Flora shook her head vigorously, "I don’t want to play."
Lucian seriously said, "I’m serious, I can watch the kids, you can go play."
Flora: "It’s only fun to play those games with people you know well. There were too many strangers last night, so it probably wouldn’t have been much fun to play."
Lucian placed the peeled egg on Flora’s plate and picked up another one, lightly tapping it on the table, saying, "But I thought you seemed quite keen to play."
Flora picked up the egg Lucian had peeled and thought of a perfect response. Smiling, she said to Lucian, "I wanted to play with you."
Barry rolled his eyes and led Lana to a table further back, sulking, "Let’s hurry up, or we’ll be full from dog food before breakfast."
Lana chuckled, admitting that not yearning for that kind of romance would be a lie.
Meeting someone who mutually likes you is truly difficult in this lifetime.
When Zachary Wilson confessed to her, she felt she was the happiest person in the world.
She thought the person she liked also happened to like her, but in the end, she realized she was just one of many to him.
Before long, Seraphina Vaughn appeared in the dining car.
As soon as she entered the car, she looked around, ensuring Julian Bishop wasn’t there before finally feeling relieved.
After her shower, she changed into a turtleneck top and long pants.
Because while showering, looking in the mirror, she discovered unexplained ambiguous marks on her neck, arms, even her calves and ankles.
Those marks seemed to recount last night’s frenzy, yet she only had some indistinct, unreal memories in her mind.
If she hadn’t indeed woken up in that man’s bed, she’d still think it was all just a dream.
Seeing Seraphina come in, Flora teased, "Brother Seraphina, I thought you’d snuck into some cute guy’s tent last night."
Normally, Seraphina would banter about car skills with Flora, but this time she froze, because Flora’s words were mostly accurate.
Facing the table, pretending to pick out breakfast, Seraphina casually replied, "Tent’s not as comfy as a camper van."
Audrey: "Could it be... you called the cute guy to your room?"
Seraphina rolled her eyes and said to Shane, "Control your wife, her thoughts are really dangerous."
Audrey turned to see Shane glaring at her. Immediately, she puffed her cheeks, feigning a "I misspoke" look, and then shut her mouth tight, no longer uttering a word.
Flora, too, restrained herself with Lucian nearby, not daring to joke much about Seraphina.
After choosing her breakfast, Seraphina headed straight to Barry’s table. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
Just as she sat down, a tall man in a white shirt walked into the dining car, hunched over.
Upon seeing Julian Bishop, Seraphina immediately lowered her head, adopting an indifferent demeanor, sipping her bowl of porridge.
The few tables in the carriage were occupied, and noticing this, Audrey stood up and said, "Mr. Bishop, you can sit here; I’ve finished eating."
Saying this, Audrey got up holding Anna. Shane seemed to have business to discuss with Julian, so he told Audrey, "Take the kid out to play for a while. I’ll come find you later."
Audrey nodded and left the car with Anna, Laura Yates, and Vanessa.
Once Julian sat down, Shane began discussing work matters with him.
After a few lines of conversation, Shane clearly sensed Julian’s lack of focus, so he asked, "Not sober from last night?"
Julian wasn’t unsober but overwhelmed with information without coming to any conclusion, making him disinterested in work talk. He replied to Shane, "Still have a bit of a headache."
Seemingly in a hurry to accompany his wife, Shane stood up, "Just organize the contract this afternoon and send it to my phone. I’ll look it over and get back to you."
Julian nodded, "Alright."
Shane picked up his phone and Anna’s bib from the table and walked straight towards Audrey’s direction after getting off the car.
Julian absentmindedly sipped his milk and scanned the women still in the carriage, noticing nothing unusual.
He thought, if the woman was here and noticed his presence, she should have shown some odd reaction.
The events of last night were still misty in his mind upon waking.
It seemed like just a dream, with a faceless woman entwined and panting with him in the heat.
Waking up, he felt the touch was real, but details eluded him, and he couldn’t recall the woman’s face nor who she was.
He initially deemed it a figment of his imagination, but the blood stains on the sheets confirmed its reality.
However, the woman woke up before him, leaving nothing but that bright red mark behind before leaving.
The woman waking first indicated she had seen his face, knowing who he was.
Thus, Julian hoped to judge the previous night’s woman based on their reactions upon seeing him.
It certainly couldn’t be Flora, as she was with Lucian all night.
Over there, Seraphina, Barry, and Lana, appeared as usual, eating and chatting lightly, showing almost no attention to his presence, seemingly no signs of abnormality.
Could it be that girl named Vanessa who left just now?
Or one of the strangers he played games with last night?
