Mr. Warner, Your Wife is Running Away Again!-Chapter 636: This Is Pediatrics
Hannah Sue seemed to have anticipated Evan Sutton’s question and confidently placed her registration ticket on the table for him to see. "I’m here to see a doctor."
Evan Sutton glanced coldly at the little ticket in her hand, pulled up the mask hanging by his ear, and calmly reminded her, "This is pediatrics."
Hannah Sue replied, "If you’re under sixteen, you can register for pediatrics. The lady at the registration counter registered me, so why do you want to refuse treatment? Aren’t you doctors supposed to save lives and help the injured? How can you choose whom to save? Do you have any professional ethics?"
Evan Sutton took a deep breath, too lazy to argue with her on this topic. He just reached out to take Hannah Sue’s medical record card, placed it on the sensor, and while entering some information, asked her, "Where does it hurt?"
Hannah Sue, who was so proud when cursing Catherine Porter earlier, suddenly wilted, "I have a cold, I feel uncomfortable everywhere, completely exhausted, coughing badly, sore throat, and I think I have a bit of a fever."
Evan Sutton: "I suggest you visit respiratory medicine or infectious diseases."
Upon hearing Evan Sutton trying to brush her off again, Hannah Sue grumbled discontentedly, "Aren’t you a chief doctor? Can’t even handle a common cold?"
Evan Sutton felt helpless, took out his tools, stood up, and walked over to Hannah Sue, "Lift your head, open your mouth."
Hannah Sue was a bit confused but complied.
Evan Sutton: "How long have you been coughing?"
Hannah Sue: "Just last night. I coughed terribly in the middle of the night, didn’t sleep well at all."
Then she heard Evan Sutton say, "The cough is caused by tonsillitis, go home and rinse with warm saline, drink plenty of water, eat a light diet, and make sure to eat more fruits and vegetables normally."
Upon seeing Evan Sutton finish speaking and return to his chair, grabbing the mouse to prescribe medicine on the computer, Hannah Sue immediately asked, "Is that all for the examination?"
Evan Sutton gave her a glance and asked, "Anywhere else uncomfortable?"
Hannah Sue glanced at the stethoscope hanging around Evan Sutton’s neck, hinting, "I think your diagnosis is unprofessional. You just looked at my throat and made a conclusion?"
Evan Sutton: "If you doubt my skills, you can change your doctor, and I can transfer you right now."
Hannah Sue: "But I still have a fever, and my heartbeat is abnormal, thumping very fast."
Evan Sutton: "That’s because you’re nervous."
Hannah Sue: "What if it’s pneumonia? If you misdiagnose and delay my treatment, you’re responsible!"
Evan Sutton: "Then I suggest you get an X-ray, it’s more accurate."
Hannah Sue: "You could at least use the stethoscope for an initial diagnosis. Are you my doctor or do I have to teach you how to diagnose?"
Evan Sutton was really too lazy to argue with her, so he reluctantly went through her suggested procedure to quickly send her off.
"Open your coat."
Seeing Evan Sutton stand up, Hannah Sue smiled in satisfaction, immediately unzipping her outer coat, underneath which she wore a white sweater and a turtleneck undergarment.
Evan Sutton approached, placing his hand between her clothes, and inserted the stethoscope.
Hannah Sue pursed her lips and smiled shyly, she could feel her own heartbeat speeding up.
Evan Sutton obviously noticed her abnormal heartbeat too, frowned slightly as he looked at Hannah Sue, then pulled out the stethoscope, saying, "Your heartbeat is strong and healthy."
Hannah Sue tidied her sweater and said, "I heard that checking through clothes isn’t accurate..."
Evan Sutton’s response was still the same, "If you doubt my ability, then change doctors."
Hannah Sue didn’t dare to push her luck, zipped up her coat, but after a moment of silence, said, "I still have a bit of a fever, you haven’t taken my temperature."
Interrupted once again while prescribing, Evan Sutton couldn’t be bothered to reason with such unreasonable people, he took a mercury thermometer from the drawer, shook it a few times, and handed it to her. "Under the armpit, five minutes."
Hannah Sue took the thermometer and looked at it, asking, "No electronic thermometer? Like the one that beeps for forehead reading?"
"That’s not accurate," Evan Sutton said, pressing the button on the desk, and the PA system called out for patient number 71.
Hannah Sue, not knowing how to proceed with the thermometer, saw Evan Sutton gesture with his chin towards a bench in the room and said coldly, "Sit over there."
Hannah Sue was unhappy, feeling he had a bad attitude, but seeing an elderly lady with her grandson walk in, she chose not to cause a fuss, quietly getting up and moving to the bench.
Hesitant about whether to insert the thermometer from her shirt hem or neckline, the young nurse returned.
She quietly put the files beside Evan Sutton and gave him a secret look. The nurse, seeing Hannah Sue, immediately came over warmly to help, "Let me help you with that."
Hannah Sue glanced up at the nurse, then pulled open her turtleneck, inserted the thermometer while smiling, "No need, I can handle it, thanks anyway."
The nurse smiled kindly, glanced at her watch, seemingly timing for Hannah Sue, and said, "Let me know if you need anything."
Hannah Sue nodded obediently, thinking the nurse was much nicer than Evan Sutton.
But observing Evan Sutton treating the child patient, his demeanor was drastically different from when dealing with her. Whether in expression, language, or action, he was unbelievably gentle.
"Come on, little one, open your mouth so uncle can take a look, like this, ahhh—" he murmured, demonstrating by opening his mouth.
The little boy sat in his grandmother’s arms, looking timid but obediently cooperated by opening his mouth. Evan Sutton’s gentle smile made Hannah Sue’s resentment instantly vanish, and she found herself smiling at his expression.
After clamping the thermometer for five minutes, her arm was tired. As Evan Sutton never had a break, Hannah was hesitant to speak up.
Fortunately, the nurse checked her watch and walked over with a smile, taking the thermometer, "Your temperature is normal."
Hannah nodded, stood up, and straightened her clothes. The nurse handed her the prescription from Evan Sutton, saying, "Take it to the first-floor window to pay and collect your medicine. Get well soon."
Hannah Sue accepted the prescription and medical card. With another patient coming in, she chose not to disturb Evan Sutton any longer and smiled at him, "Thank you, Dr. Sutton."
Evan Sutton simply glanced up at her and continued attending to the little patient in front of him.
Hannah Sue pursed her lips, feeling a bit disappointed, and left the consultation room.
