Chapter 615: Chapter 615: Let Me Work Up a Sweat

During dinner, Phoebe King finally got to enjoy her braised pork belly.

The dishes Shane Warner prepared were relatively light, so Stephen Sutton didn’t restrict what Phoebe King ate.

With Shane Warner and Stephen Sutton engrossed in their conversation, Phoebe King and Audrey Sutton focused solely on their meal.

Audrey Sutton noticed that Phoebe King indeed had a great appetite, having devoured six chicken wings earlier and now wolfing down two full bowls of rice.

Stephen Sutton and Shane Warner opened a bottle of red wine, chatting and drinking, while Audrey Sutton and Phoebe King headed to the small garden outside after finishing their meals.

The two of them sat on a swing, swaying back and forth, when Phoebe King asked, "By the way, how’s your scarf knitting going, Audrey?"

Audrey Sutton: "I nearly forgot about it! It’s been sitting in the cabinet untouched for ages. I knitted for two days, then unraveled it, knitted again, unraveled it again. Then my sister-in-law needed me to draft something, so I haven’t touched it since."

Phoebe King chuckled, "I’m almost done with mine. Why do you keep unraveling yours? Feeling too full?"

Audrey Sutton: "I felt the knitting was uneven and the tension wasn’t right, making it look unattractive, so I unraveled it."

Phoebe King paused, "Tension? I knitted mine in one go without paying attention to that. Anyway, your brother said it looked good."

Audrey Sutton: "...Well, my brother wouldn’t dare to say it looks bad."

Phoebe King: "Now that makes sense. I think I’ll come over and learn from you next time."

Audrey Sutton: "Shane’s leaving tomorrow afternoon, so I’ll be home alone, feel free to come by anytime."

Phoebe King grinned mischievously, "Then I’ll grab more chicken wings and pork belly, so you can grill them for me."

"Let’s go back inside, it’s too cold to be outside in the wind."

Seeing Stephen Sutton beckoning from the balcony door, Phoebe King wrapped her cotton coat tightly around herself and jogged over.

Audrey Sutton also got off the swing and went back inside.

She overheard Stephen Sutton lecturing Phoebe King, "How many times have I told you to walk properly without jumping around?"

Phoebe King: "You’re like a broken record. I’m your wife, not your student. Why are you always lecturing me?"

Stephen Sutton: "Even if you’re fed up with hearing it, you never listen. If you were really my student, I wouldn’t bother managing you."

Phoebe King stood by the door changing her shoes, muttering, "Do all older people love to nag?"

Stephen Sutton and Shane Warner both looked grim, Stephen Sutton asked coldly, "What did you just say?"

Phoebe King quickly straightened up after changing her shoes, "I said let’s hurry back, I want to see what our new home looks like!"

Stephen Sutton, though aware of what she had actually said, chose not to argue, and while changing shoes at the door, he said to Shane Warner, "Thanks for having us today."

Shane Warner replied with a gentle smile, "I’ll count on you to look after Audrey over the next few days."

Stephen Sutton nodded: "Mm, don’t worry."

Standing beside Shane Warner, Audrey Sutton waved at the two of them, "Goodbye, Stephen, goodbye Sister Phoebe."

Phoebe King smiled meaningfully and hinted, "I’ll come find you when I have time to hang out."

Audrey Sutton nodded, understanding the "barbecue date" implied in Phoebe King’s words.

After seeing them off, Audrey Sutton turned to tidy up the dining table, only to hear Shane Warner ask, "Do you think I’m naggy?"

Audrey Sutton froze for a moment, looked at Shane Warner to confirm his expression, hesitated, then shook her head, saying unconvincingly, "...No."

Hearing Audrey Sutton’s hesitant response, Shane Warner knew she didn’t mean it.

When he heard Phoebe King mutter earlier, he realized these two women must have complained about them behind their backs.

Shane Warner chose not to dwell on it, and instead, he told Audrey Sutton, "Weren’t you supposed to be rushing drafts? Go upstairs and focus, I’ll handle the cleaning."

Uncertain if Shane Warner was upset, Audrey Sutton stood by nervously without going upstairs, clumsily explaining, "I really don’t find you naggy. I know you care about me, and it’s for my own good. How could I possibly find you annoying?"

Shane Warner: "I hope you truly feel that way."

Audrey Sutton: "I really do! I’ve always thought that way."

Shane Warner: "Alright, go upstairs and get busy. Sleep early tonight since you have to get up early for your checkup tomorrow."

At the other side of the villa, Phoebe King entered the house, turned on the lights with a "wow" of amazement, "Husband, you’re amazing! This is exactly the style I wanted! I love it!"

Stephen Sutton remained expressionless and calm, taking out slippers from the cabinet and tossing them at Phoebe King’s feet.

Phoebe King looked around as she changed into slippers and eagerly ran upstairs, "I’m going to check out the bedroom." 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦

"I told you to walk properly! You keep saying I nag, but if you were less worrisome, I wouldn’t need to waste my breath."

"What breath?"

Stephen Sutton sighed and lowered his head to change shoes, while Phoebe King held onto the stair railing, slightly slowing down.

Following her upstairs, Stephen Sutton saw Phoebe King sprawling on the bed, "This bed is so comfortable, I love sleeping on big beds. The one in your apartment feels too small."

"No bed is big enough for your rolling," Stephen Sutton opened the wardrobe door, their clothes neatly hung inside, and tossed her pajamas, "Take a shower first, don’t dirty the fresh sheets."

Phoebe King tossed aside the pajamas blocking half her face, still lounging lazily, "Who showers every day when it’s so cold? I haven’t even sweated."

"Hurry up and shower!"

Phoebe King turned her head, mischievously looking at Stephen Sutton, licking her lips with an ambiguous tone, "How about making me sweat, then we can shower together?"

Seemingly accustomed to her teasing, Stephen Sutton remained unfazed by her cheeky remarks, speaking with a teacher’s tone assigning homework, "I’m going to organize the study next door. If I come back later and find you still haven’t showered..."

"Then you can sleep with me!" Phoebe King interjected, staring directly at Stephen Sutton.

Stephen Sutton frowned slightly, feeling a bit like she’s incorrigible, and as he turned to leave the room, he continued coldly, "Then you’ll sleep on the downstairs sofa tonight."

Phoebe King sat up, watching Stephen Sutton’s retreating back, asked, "Stephen Sutton, are you even a man? A girl makes the first move and you’re still embarrassed? You’re old enough to be a dad, how are you still acting shy like a young girl?"

Stephen Sutton ignored Phoebe King, shutting the bedroom door behind him.

Was he shy? Was he reserved?! He knew he couldn’t touch her in the first few months of pregnancy!

Carrying his child and questioning his manhood?!
