Chapter 566: Chapter 566: Twisted Pervert

In the instant he saw that familiar face, Shane Warner was startled, but then he realized something and his expression calmed down.

He didn’t really care and walked toward where Arthur Sutton was.

Halfway there, Faye Xavier called out to him: "Master Shane, did you see? That woman who looks like Lan Irving is also here. I just saw her."

Shane Warner nodded: "I saw her, why?"

Faye smiled and said, "Didn’t you ask me to investigate her before? I thought you were interested, so I came over to tell you."

Shane Warner thought for a moment and asked Faye, "Do you think this is a coincidence?"

Faye shook her head: "Hard to say. Lan grew up in an orphanage, and no one knows about her family situation. If she had a twin sister or something, it’s not impossible. But before anything happened to Lan, I’d never seen this woman. If they were really sisters, they should have reunited long ago. Why only appear after something happened to Lan?"

Shane Warner also felt the situation was a bit too coincidental. He paused and said, "Keep an eye on her, try to see the people she usually contacts."

Faye laughed and asked, "Does this count as extra work, with a pay raise?"

Shane Warner gave him a cold look: "No pay raise will ever be enough for you to chase women."

Faye: "Looks like you understand women, Master Shane! With money, you can woo women confidently; without it, they won’t give you the time of day."

Shane Warner: "That’s because the women you meet aren’t serious."

While they were talking, a short woman in a black tight dress clung to Faye’s side: "President Xavier, why did you leave me behind and run around?"

Faye smoothly pulled the girl closer: "Sorry, baby, I forgot to tell you."

The woman showed him her phone: "I still think this bag looks better."

Faye responded readily: "I’ll buy it for you."

Shane Warner, maintaining a calm face, couldn’t be bothered to chastise Faye and silently turned and walked away.

When Shane Warner returned to the booth, he found Arthur Sutton sitting there alone, with a drink in hand. Arthur was absentmindedly swirling the glass, as if contemplating something.

"Where are the others?" Shane Warner sat opposite Arthur Sutton and asked.

Arthur came to his senses: "The fourth brother took them upstairs to play cards, and the fifth was just called away by a girl. I wonder if he’s found romance."

"You seem to have something on your mind too?"

"There’s been a lot going on lately."

Shane Warner smiled, poured himself a drink, and started chatting casually with Arthur Sutton.

In a secluded corner of the bar, Evan Sutton stopped walking and said to Catherine Porter, "Let’s talk here."

Catherine halted, turned to face Evan, and curled her lips into a smile, "I didn’t expect to meet Director Sutton here."

Evan’s face remained neutral as he assessed Catherine. Since he saw her coming alone to the bar and directly approaching him, he didn’t think this was a coincidence.

"Does Miss Porter have something to say?"

Catherine pursed her lips and smiled, "Then I won’t beat around the bush with you. I don’t think I can hide my little thoughts from you, Director Sutton."

Catherine hesitated shyly for a moment and asked, "Does Director Sutton have a girl he likes?"

"Hmm?" Evan responded flatly, emotionless, purely puzzled by Catherine’s question.

Catherine quickly answered him, "I quite like you, Director, but I seem to be two or three years older. Does age matter to you?"

Evan slightly furrowed his brows, pausing for a moment to politely decline: "Sorry, I don’t have such plans at the moment."

Catherine didn’t seem discouraged by the rejection, maintaining her smile: "Do you not have such plans, or do you already have someone in mind?"

Upon hearing this, Evan’s eyes lowered slightly, as if reminded of a girl in his heart.

Catherine leaned in a bit closer, smiling as she whispered, "Even though your sister is already married, you still have feelings for her in your heart, don’t you? I bet no one knows about this yet?"

Evan was suddenly taken aback, clenching his teeth as he looked at Catherine: "What exactly do you want?"

Catherine’s smile didn’t waver, maintaining an exceptionally gentle demeanor: "What do you think would happen if your hospital colleagues knew, or if your family found out, or even if... your sister discovered it? What would she think?"

"The brother she always respected turned out to be psychologically twisted." 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦

Evan was slightly angry and growled at Catherine in a low voice: "Shut your mouth!"

Catherine: "I could shut up, but you’ll have to listen to me."

Evan didn’t respond, and with a flustered look in his eyes, he turned and quickly walked away.

Watching his retreating figure, Catherine’s face revealed a satisfied smile.

"Ms. Porter, you’ve found quite the sugar daddy, he’s rather handsome."

Hearing this, Catherine turned her head and saw a short woman in a black tight dress standing behind her. She simply said, "Mind your own business."

The woman in the black dress smiled innocently, playing with her black hair draped over her shoulder, "What do you think Miss Jennings will do to punish you if I tell her you’re freelancing?"

As Catherine turned to leave, she tossed back a sentence: "Just do your own job well."

The woman in the black dress called after Catherine’s retreating figure, "Ms. Porter, if you need help, just let me know."

Shortly after Catherine left, Faye came looking for the woman in the black dress and said, "Baby, why did you come here?"

The woman immediately put her phone into her bag, walked over to Faye, and clung to his arm, saying coyly, "I was answering a call~"

Faye laughed and hugged her, leaning down to kiss her, but the woman leaned back, covering his lips with her hand, "I don’t like the smell of alcohol. You’ve drunk so much, you still want to kiss me, you’re so annoying~"

Although Faye’s affection generally didn’t last long, and he changed hearts easily, when you were his current favorite, he would be completely compliant with you.

So, after being rejected by the woman in the black dress with such reasoning, he didn’t insist. He wrapped his arm around her slim waist and said, "Then let’s go back to the hotel? I’ll brush my teeth and clean up, then you can kiss me as much as you want."

The woman pouted slightly: "We could, but I haven’t had enough fun yet, I don’t want to go back so early."

Faye agreed readily: "Alright, I’ll keep you company. We’ll go back when you’re tired."

The woman smiled contentedly, holding Faye’s hand as they walked further into the bar, saying, "I just looked at a few lipsticks, can you help me pick a nice color later?"

Faye: "How much could a few lipsticks cost? Buy all the ones you like, why pick a color? I’ll cover it."

Immediately, the woman rubbed against Faye’s sleeve like a clingy kitten, "I like you the most, today, tomorrow, and always in the future!"

Faye only smiled. Hearing this made him happy, even though the word "always" never existed in his world.
