Chapter 552: Chapter 552: Peerless Handsome Man

Clarissa Morgan took off her sunglasses and mask, her eyes dim as she looked at the glass of red wine beside her. She sighed and looked apologetically at Quentin Sterling, saying, "Quentin... do you think we can ever be like we used to be?"

"I said I don’t care about those things. I know you went through something terrible and you’re not feeling well. What I hope for is to be with you through this unpleasant period, rather than letting you face it alone."

"But that would put pressure on me, Quentin. Actually, you can have a better life."

"Without you, I won’t be well. Clarissa, come back. These days without you, I’ve really been struggling."

Clarissa Morgan looked troubled, lowered her eyes, and took a deep breath, saying, "...let’s not talk about this. Did you order the food?"

Quentin Sterling frowned at her, clearly with more to say, but seeing Clarissa Morgan unwilling to discuss it further, he had to drop the subject.

Downstairs.

Audrey Sutton had just finished eating when she received a call from Barry Barrett, saying, "Sutton, where are you? Come over to Sector C. We’re with handsome Mr. Sue right now."

"Simon Sue? How did you end up with him?"

When Shane Warner heard Audrey Sutton mention the name, he paused his actions of picking up food, listening carefully to Audrey’s call.

He couldn’t hear the voice on the other end, but saw Audrey Sutton smiling and saying, "Really? We’re almost done eating. We’ll be over to find you soon."

Watching Audrey Sutton hang up the phone, Shane Warner fiddled around with the food on his plate, not putting anything into his mouth, as if looking for something, and casually asked, "Who are you meeting?"

Audrey Sutton hadn’t noticed anything unusual about Shane Warner and just said, "Meeting Barry and the others. Barry said there are many claw machines in Sector C with lots of little dolls and figurines. I want to go take a look. We didn’t get a chance to wander over there earlier."

Shane Warner snorted coldly, "Is it the figurines you want to buy or the young studs you want to see?"

Audrey Sutton understood the implication in his words and laughed, looking at him, "Why are you still competing with Simon Sue? Don’t worry, after meeting a rare beauty like Young Master Warner, I can’t pay attention to anyone else."

This flattery barely smoothed things over with Shane Warner.

Audrey Sutton picked up her bowl and finished the remaining half bowl of soup in one go, stood up, and said, "I’m done eating. I’m going to the restroom. You finish up and go pay the bill."

Shane Warner glanced at the "restroom" sign not far away and nodded to her, "Be careful, don’t slip."

Just as Audrey Sutton left, Shane Warner was about to finish the bit of rice left in his bowl when he heard the sound of high heels behind him, followed by Clarissa Morgan’s voice, "Shane, why are you eating alone? Where’s little Audrey?"

Shane Warner looked up at Clarissa Morgan, and asked indifferently, "Got something for her?"

Clarissa Morgan shook her head. Her sunglasses and mask obscured her expression. She just sat down across from Shane Warner, looked him up and down, and with a hint of a smile in her voice, said, "I never thought I’d see the day you’d wear something like this on the street. You’ve really changed a lot since being with her."

Shane Warner didn’t continue this topic and just said, "Live your life properly; that’s my final advice to you."

Clarissa Morgan lowered her eyes, "Shane... I’m actually not doing well at all. These things that look so glamorous in front of me are not what I want. I’d rather be offstage, standing by your side, than being adored on stage..."

Shane Warner put down his chopsticks, clearly not in the mood to continue eating, took a napkin to wipe his mouth, and got up to walk toward the cashier.

Clarissa Morgan stood up to follow, but not far behind, Audrey Sutton’s voice sounded, "Sister Morgan? What a coincidence. I saw you chatting with my Shane just now. Do you have something to say to him?"

"Oh, nothing, just ran into him when I came downstairs, so I came over to say hi."

Audrey Sutton smiled, "I thought Sister Morgan purposely came to tell my Shane some secrets since I wasn’t around."

Hearing Audrey Sutton’s sarcastic remarks, and knowing that Shane Warner wasn’t around, Clarissa Morgan stood up, took off her sunglasses, leaned closer to Audrey Sutton, and said, "Don’t get too complacent. What I want, I’ll get eventually."

Audrey Sutton wasn’t intimidated, her smile unchanged, looking at Clarissa, she said, "Then you better hide the fox tail well, Sister Morgan, so no one discovers it. Do you really think no one knows about those dirty things you did?" 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢

Clarissa Morgan’s eyes flickered, she chuckled softly, "That’s not called dirty; at most, it’s just fighting for what I want."

Audrey Sutton replied, "You’re right, I used the wrong word. How can that be called dirty? It should be called a psycho killer."

With that, Audrey Sutton leaned in closer to Clarissa Morgan, whispering in her ear, "You know very well how Nolan Hawke died, don’t you?"

After asking, Audrey Sutton watched Clarissa Morgan’s expression and indeed saw her stiffness, her eyes losing some confidence as if recalling something, with a hint of guilt, her tone not as steady as before, "I don’t understand what you’re talking about."

After speaking, she put on her sunglasses again and strode out of the shop in her high heels.

Audrey Sutton thought deeply about Clarissa Morgan’s earlier reactions and felt that Nolan Hawke’s death definitely had something to do with Clarissa Morgan.

She didn’t have any concrete evidence, just the gossip Seraphina Vaughn gathered, which raised suspicions.

It now seemed like these suspicions had been confirmed.

To Audrey Sutton, she wasn’t sure if this was good or bad news.

She had grasped a fatal weakness of Clarissa Morgan, but it was based solely on speculation without any proof.

If Nolan Hawke was indeed killed by Clarissa Morgan, then the extent of how dangerous this woman was far exceeded Audrey Sutton’s imagination.

She feared that one day, she might end up like Nolan Hawke, dying a senseless death.

"I told you to leave, what are you thinking so intently about? What did Clarissa Morgan say to you just now? You look soulless."

Audrey Sutton snapped out of her wandering thoughts, taking Shane Warner’s hand, saying, "It’s her soul that’s missing. Husband, I have something I don’t know how to handle."

"Hmm?"

"It’s just that..."

"Shane, Audrey, are you guys leaving too?" Audrey Sutton’s words were interrupted by Quentin Sterling as he came up from downstairs.

Audrey Sutton turned her mind, smiled, and asked Quentin Sterling, "Brother Sterling? Why didn’t you leave with Sister Morgan? I just saw her go out."

Quentin Sterling smiled, his smile tinged with bitterness, explaining, "Oh, she has something to do here, and I’m heading straight back, so we didn’t leave together."

"Oh... well, Shane and I are going to wander around a bit, so we’ll head out now."

"Sure, I need to go settle the bill, catch up next time."

Just by Quentin Sterling’s reaction, it was hard to tell if they were really divorced.

Audrey Sutton felt that she needed to understand everything clearly before coming up with a plan to deal with Clarissa Morgan.
