Chapter 336: Chapter 336: Second Young Master Divorce

Audrey lifted her head from his shoulder, her fingers playing with the piano keys, occasionally pressing a note. She replied, "Not at all, it was only when my parents left that morning I found out they were going to your wedding. I was stunned when I heard you were getting married. I thought about how I’d liked you for so long and hadn’t even confessed, yet it was already over. Naturally, I was very upset."

Shane seemed to imagine her expression back then, probably quite amusing: "Then you’ve liked me for so long, why didn’t you come tell me earlier?"

Audrey glanced at him, then lowered her eyes, bowing her head. "Honestly, even now being with you, I still feel a bit inferior. If I’m like a little star, then in my eyes, you’re like the moon. I had thought, once I graduated from college, got a stable job, and became truly outstanding, I’d come find you then. But I forgot that you didn’t even know I existed, so how could you possibly wait for me?"

Shane listened with a smile, but in his heart, he quietly thought that actually, he felt he wasn’t worthy of her. Not to mention anything else, just the age difference alone made him feel like he was taking advantage.

Besides, her self-assessment didn’t seem accurate.

She was already outstanding enough. Even if she was just a star in the vast galaxy, in his heart, she was utterly unique.

She truly was the most special girl he had ever met.

"When I attended your wedding, I sat in the car regretting it all along, even thinking about storming in to stop the wedding like in the dramas. But I was afraid you’d see me as a lunatic and throw me out directly."

Shane thought her mental activities back then must have been quite rich. She already had an unusual way of thinking compared to most people, always coming up with stories at the drop of a hat.

But he knew she was timid, probably thought up a lot of plans, and in the end, just sat there with a mournful face watching him finish the ceremony from the guest seats.

"So I should really thank your second brother."

Audrey giggled, "That’s one way to put it." 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎

Then, realizing something, she hurriedly explained to Shane, "I didn’t conspire with him, and I didn’t tell him to do it. I only found out it was his doing later on."

Shane smiled and ruffled her hair, "He did pretty well."

If it weren’t for those chance incidents, he wouldn’t have been able to marry such an adorable wife.

Audrey, however, stopped smiling and looked at him seriously, "If, back then, my sister-in-law had really married you, you would have loved her too, right?"

"No way. Someone once told my fortune and said I would meet a girl named Audrey Sutton, my destined woman."

Audrey didn’t buy his answer entirely, but he still made her laugh.

Thinking back, her question was quite foolish. But she kept thinking that he is such a good person, anyone marrying him would surely be very happy, right?

For some reason, thinking about this made Audrey feel somewhat melancholic, as if she weren’t the most unique person to him, as if he didn’t necessarily belong to her alone.

Perhaps she should change her perspective. He could be happy with anyone, but it just happened to be her, and she should feel lucky for it.

The two of them sat in front of the piano, playing a few simple pieces together.

After meeting him, Audrey developed an interest in the piano and had voluntarily applied for piano classes with her parents. But eventually, she gave up halfway, and now she could only play a few basic tunes she learned back then.

Listening to her stories, Shane felt deeply moved inside.

He never believed in fate before, nor was he particularly interested in or pursued love. He even thought that perhaps in his lifetime, love might never exist for him.

He had never even considered that he would fall in love with a girl so deeply, making her the center of his life, an indispensable part of his existence.

He felt that her appearance gave him a home once again, and gave him love.

Perhaps she would never know what kind of person he was before she appeared because her presence changed the once dark and painful existence he lived.

During the May Day holiday, Shane didn’t have much time to spend with her, as he had fallen behind at work due to his hospitalization. He rested at home for one day before returning to the company the next day.

Audrey would sleep in naturally in the morning, prepare lunch at home to bring to the company and eat with him. In the afternoon, they would do their respective tasks in his office, then wait for him to finish work to go home together.

Such a simple life was quite pleasant.

Pea had been in heat recently, meowing at night and urinating everywhere. Audrey took it to the vet for neutering, leaving Pea staring resentfully at her. It took several small fish snacks to appease it.

Quinn had been tailing Clarissa Morgan, but nothing special came up, as Clarissa had been performing abroad lately.

After breaking up with Barry Barrett, Nolan Hawke also seemed to have disappeared. Barry, on the other hand, had overcome the heartbreak and reinstalled the games he had uninstalled, spending his days cooped up in his dorm, playing games with his mates.

Flora Lane’s relationship with her new boyfriend seemed stable for now.

Flora herself said this relationship wasn’t as tumultuous as before, feeling calm and devoid of any crisis, even meeting her boyfriend dressed casually, without makeup, in pajamas on many occasions.

Audrey initially thought Flora’s change was due to meeting a stable man. Little did she know that Flora said she didn’t have high hopes for this relationship, not that she disliked her current boyfriend, but she didn’t expect much from this rich playboy. She felt love came and went quickly, even setting a personal deadline — no more than three months.

Seeing Flora’s turbulent love life, Audrey felt fortunate she hadn’t married the wrong man, avoiding the pain of repeatedly experiencing passionate and heartbreaking romances with scumbags.

On May 14th, the internet deemed it Rose Valentine’s Day.

Audrey woke up in the morning, and as usual, picked up her phone to scroll through X. As soon as she opened it, she saw a trending topic: #TheWarnerSecondYoungMasterDivorce#

Audrey was momentarily stunned. She hesitated, wondering if this "Warner Second Young Master" was Vincent Warner. She quickly clicked in and after seeing the photos with the news, confirmed it was indeed Vincent Warner and Chloe Swift getting divorced.

Even though she knew they hadn’t been getting along well privately, and Chloe had more than once come to Audrey to discuss it, Audrey still felt quite emotional seeing the news of their divorce.
