Chapter 309: Chapter 309: Forever a Little Jealous Bundle

Julian Bishop nodded and replied, "Yes, I went to deliver some documents with him."

Audrey Sutton shook the bag in her hand and said, "Why don’t you join him for lunch later? I made extra food."

Julian Bishop was taken aback for a moment, then politely declined, "Thank you, ma’am. I’ll just eat at the restaurant later."

Audrey Sutton glanced at Julian Bishop, pressed her lips together, and said nothing more.

She wasn’t sure if she had misunderstood; somehow it felt like Julian Bishop didn’t particularly like her, or maybe it was just his nature to be lukewarm towards everyone.

He was Shane Warner’s good friend, and Audrey Sutton hoped to get along well with Shane Warner’s buddies, much like Faye Xavier and Mor seemed to be quite easy to talk to. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮

"Shane, thank you for handling this matter."

"You’re welcome, it’s no trouble at all."

"Whether or not it’s trouble, you’ve helped me out. When you have time, I’ll treat you to a meal to show my gratitude."

As Audrey Sutton approached the corner, she faintly heard a conversation between a man and a woman. She immediately recognized the man’s voice as Shane Warner’s.

Hearing him talk to a woman set off alarms in Audrey Sutton’s mind. She didn’t rush out but stayed sneaky behind the wall, slowly peeking to take a look.

Shane Warner was partially blocked by the wall, only his side profile was visible. But Audrey Sutton could see the woman standing before him clearly.

The woman seemed to be around twenty-six or twenty-seven, tall and slim, wearing an elegant jumpsuit. She had shoulder-length short hair, wasn’t particularly beautiful, but had an impressive aura, like an international model.

Audrey Sutton wanted to hear more of their conversation, so she reached out to stop Julian Bishop, who was about to walk over, and whispered to him, "Mr. Bishop, wait!"

Julian Bishop halted and stood behind her, watching her crouched down, sneakily peeking at the other side of the wall.

Her ponytail was tied high, and as she craned her neck, it revealed the attractive lines of her neck, seemingly still bearing faint, lingering kiss marks. Her dress’s neckline wasn’t initially low, but due to her current bent posture, from his angle, he could faintly see the valleys below the neckline.

He wasn’t someone who would be swayed by beauty, but at this moment, an indescribable restlessness arose in his mind.

"By the way, are your parents doing well?" The woman asked Shane Warner.

Shane Warner nodded lightly, "They’re doing well, traveling all over the world."

The woman chuckled, "At their age, they should travel more. Now that you’ve grown up and taken on family responsibilities, they don’t have to worry much. It’s good for them to travel while they can."

"Yes, when you can still travel, you should explore as much as possible."

The woman smiled, glanced down at the watch on her wrist, and said, "It’s past twelve o’clock already. Sorry for taking up so much of your time. How about grabbing a bite together? We can just pick a nearby place."

Shane Warner smiled and suddenly turned his head towards Audrey Sutton’s direction, startling her to quickly pull back her head and step back, accidentally bumping into Julian Bishop behind her. But she didn’t notice at that moment; her mind was only on whether Shane Warner saw her.

Julian Bishop stiffened as Audrey Sutton bumped into him, and it seemed like a slight breeze brushed by him carrying her faint fragrance.

It seemed like the scent of shampoo mixed with some unknown floral smell that made Julian Bishop’s heart feel even more chaotic.

Audrey Sutton no longer dared to peek, she stiffened and listened closely to their conversation. Next, she heard Shane Warner’s words, which gave her the answer: "Not today, my wife brought lunch over."

The woman followed Shane Warner’s line of sight but didn’t see anything. As she wondered, Shane Warner raised his voice slightly: "Why are you hiding? It’s not like you’re ugly or something."

Audrey Sutton naturally heard this and hesitated for a moment before realizing Shane Warner was speaking to her.

Embarrassment.

Audrey Sutton found herself unsure whether to step out or stay hidden.

Hearing the sound of men’s leather shoes approaching her direction, she guessed Shane Warner was coming to catch her, so Audrey Sutton knew she couldn’t hide anymore. She awkwardly stepped out from behind the wall, giving a stiff smile to Shane Warner as he walked over.

The woman followed Shane Warner over, and Audrey Sutton’s eyes instinctively turned to her.

"Is this your wife?" The woman smiled warmly, giving Audrey Sutton a once-over, then generously praised, "She’s cute."

Shane Warner hugged Audrey Sutton lightly, "Don’t compliment her, or she’ll get cocky."

The woman laughed, "Girls should be complimented."

Audrey Sutton still wasn’t clear on who this woman was, what business she had with Shane Warner, or what their relationship was.

But she felt the woman’s words struck a chord with her.

Shane Warner glanced down at Audrey Sutton and chuckled, introducing the woman to her, "Just call her sister."

Audrey Sutton looked at the woman, bit her lip, but didn’t call out. She thought she was a lot more secure about Shane Warner now, but she just realized there was still a slight, instinctive resistance towards pretty women appearing beside Shane Warner.

The woman seemed to notice Audrey Sutton’s awkwardness and immediately continued from Shane Warner’s words, "I didn’t even give you a wedding gift when you got married, so calling me sister now doesn’t feel right. Let’s have a meal together another day, and I’ll introduce myself then."

After saying that, the woman glanced at the lunchbox Audrey Sutton held, "You guys should eat, or the food will get cold, I’ll be on my way."

Shane Warner nodded, and escorted Audrey Sutton to the elevator before heading back to the office.

"Why were you sneaking around, trying to eavesdrop?"

Audrey Sutton hadn’t expected he’d noticed her long ago, she pouted and explained, "I saw you talking, I didn’t want to interrupt."

"Oh? It wasn’t to see if I was flirting with another woman?"

"...You wouldn’t dare." Audrey Sutton’s words lacked confidence.

Shane Warner just chuckled, as expected, his little jealous one never changed even though their relationship was solid.

As they walked into the office together, Julian Bishop followed behind, placing the documents on Shane Warner’s desk, "Shane, these are the finalized design plans, look them over when you can."

Shane Warner nodded, "Alright, thank you for your hard work."

Julian Bishop placed the documents down, then turned to leave the office.

Audrey Sutton, who was sorting the lunchbox on the coffee table, called out to him, "Mr. Bishop, come join us for lunch? There’s extra food."

Julian Bishop paused for a moment, glanced at Audrey Sutton, then at Shane Warner, and replied softly, "Thanks, but you two enjoy."
