Chapter 236: Chapter 236: I’ll Let You Look All You Want When We Get Home

Seeing so many familiar faces appear, Audrey Sutton couldn’t shake the feeling that the entire atmosphere had somehow changed.

It felt like there was an undercurrent, and she couldn’t tell if it was all a coincidence or if some people had intentionally orchestrated these accidental encounters.

The speech finally ended, and with the music playing through the speakers, models walked onto the runway in time with the beat, one after another.

Because the main focus was on jewelry, the models’ clothing designs were not overly intricate or complicated, to avoid overshadowing the accessories.

Some wore even less to showcase the chest chains and waist chains, but it didn’t feel vulgar or indecent; rather, it seemed like a form of high art.

However, Audrey secretly stole a glance at Shane Warner, wanting to see his reaction when faced with such enticing images.

She noticed that although his gaze was fixed on the stage, his eyes were calm and indifferent, like an experienced gynecologist who had become jaded by scenes that made others feel restless, finding them unremarkable.

Given his apparent familiarity with anatomical diagrams she had studied, his understanding of these things was likely artistic, free from the vulgar perspective that ordinary people might have.

As models continued walking, male models suddenly appeared, prompting a chorus of "Wow" from the girls in the audience.

Shane wrinkled his brow and gave an annoyed glance at Audrey beside him, because he clearly heard her exclaim "Wow" as well.

Her gaze was now firmly fixed on one of the male models as he appeared.

Some male models displayed shirtless torsos, adorned with jewelry chains designed to look like vests.

"That’s so creative," Audrey, oblivious to Shane’s displeased expression, rummaged through her bag for her phone, attempting to snap a picture of the handsome male model posing in the center of the runway.

Before she could press the shutter button, a hand reached out from beside her and snatched the phone away.

Soon after, Shane’s voice could be heard: "Is someone like him really good enough for your comic illustrations?"

Audrey paused, then, realizing what he meant, cheerfully asked, "Are you jealous?"

Shane: "Do you think I am like you?"

Audrey: "But you’re totally acting sour right now."

Shane: "I’m just saying your taste is questionable."

Audrey turned her attention back to the eye-catching male models on stage: "Really? I think they all have great figures. Look at that one—doesn’t his V-line look sexy?"

Shane gave Audrey a disdainful look and tone: "Are you saying I don’t have a V-line?"

"Well... you haven’t shown it to me."

Shane slipped her phone into his pocket to prevent her from snapping photos of other men and potentially sneaking a peek later at night, then quietly said, "I’ll let you see it plenty when we get back."

The music was loud, and Audrey seemed to hear what he said but couldn’t believe he would say such a thing, so she mischievously leaned in to ask him, "What did you just say?"

Shane looked straight ahead, seriously: "I didn’t say anything."

Audrey chuckled: "I heard you say I’d get to see it plenty when we get back."

Shane: "You heard wrong."

Audrey: "No, that’s exactly what you said; a man keeps his word."

Shane smirked wickedly and leaned closer to her, asking, "Do you really want to see it?"

Audrey was caught off guard by his sudden closeness, almost touching his face, and instinctively leaned back, her face reddening as she felt shy under his gaze, yet she said, "Won’t see it for free, won’t watch."

Shane smiled wider, his gaze fixed earnestly on the show, but secretly took hold of her wrist.

When Audrey snapped out of it, her hand was already on his abdomen, hearing him say, "Feel it first and get a sense."

Initially, Audrey felt shy, especially since everyone was around. Her hand rested on his abs and she felt guilty, as if doing something naughty.

But such a prime opportunity to be playful couldn’t be missed.

She lightly poked through his shirt, and Shane seemed surprised by her boldness, looking down at her mischievous fingers, then grabbing her hand, "I see your true nature can’t be concealed."

Audrey responded righteously: "You told me to feel it."

"I don’t see you being this obedient usually."

Audrey pulled her hand free, mimicking his usual sharp tongue: "Doesn’t feel that special."

"Seems like you’re asking for a scolding."

Audrey laughed smugly, not saying more, and turned her attention to the stage.

The show was reaching its end; all the models who had presented previously returned to the runway.

Audrey’s peripheral vision caught a glimpse of Vincent Warner moving slightly, glancing over to see him heading towards the exit of the show. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶

Looking over at Shane again, he seemed unconcerned about Vincent’s whereabouts and actions.

After the show ended, the organizer invited everyone to the exhibition hall on the second floor to appreciate and discuss the exhibited works.

On the way to the second floor with Shane, Audrey saw the restroom sign and said, "I want to go to the restroom."

Shane glanced at the restroom sign overhead and escorted Audrey in that direction.

"I’ll go have a smoke; wait here when you’re done."

"Smoking again," Audrey murmured, expressing her displeasure, but didn’t firmly oppose his smoking.

Walking into the ladies’ room, Audrey assumed Shane would take a while smoking and began playing with her phone.

"I probably won’t have time to go back; just hand in the documents for me,"

Outside, she heard a familiar-sounding girl speaking in Chinese on the phone.

The voice seemed familiar, and Audrey quickly put away her phone, listening as the sound of high heels and the girl’s voice moved towards the door, hastily sorting her pants and skirt before following out.

At the sink, she saw a woman still on the phone softly saying, "His wife came to see me yesterday, thinking I’m still with him."

Indeed, it was that translator sister, and based on her words, Audrey’s mind instinctively linked this with "mistress."

"Let’s discuss it further when you’re back; I’m hanging up now."

Audrey had hoped to eavesdrop more, but didn’t expect her to hang up so quickly.

Having crossed paths once, briefly, Audrey approached the adjacent sink and washed her hands while smiling at the woman, "Hey, what a coincidence, seeing you again."

Stella Charlie turned, recognized Audrey, then nodded with a smile, "Miss Sutton, right?"
