Mr. Fairchild's Rose: She is Wild and Proud-Chapter 339 - 222: Strange Relationship_3
"The doctor said she’ll need several IV drips."
Mila Miller’s agent said indignantly, "Director, you really need to pay attention to some people. As soon as our Mila enters the crew, she ends up in the medical room because of someone going mad and hitting people in private... haha, those online rumors don’t seem groundless after all."
Maeve Lane walked closer unhurriedly, reducing the distance between them to about one meter.
Mila’s agent leaned back warily, "What are you doing?"
Director Osborne frowned and said, "Enough, let’s wait until Mila comes out to discuss this. Anyway, I don’t believe Maeve Lane would do such a thing, and as for you, stop sowing discord, or get out of the crew."
Mila’s agent shut her mouth grudgingly.
A faint cough was heard from inside the room.
Mila’s agent was delighted and immediately rushed in, "Mila, you’re awake?"
Director Osborne also followed inside.
Sarah Sutton glanced at Maeve Lane, "Maeve, should we go in?"
"Let’s go." Maeve lifted her eyelids, "If we don’t go, wouldn’t all those insults have been for nothing?"
"I somehow feel that Mila isn’t a good person either. Look at her agent, damn, it’s really a rare sight to behold." Sarah couldn’t help but mutter.
"For the first time, I’ve been wronged for doing a good deed. Regardless of whether she’s a good person or not, we need to clear our name." Maeve said calmly.
"That’s right!"
The two walked in and saw Mila holding her agent’s hand, saying something.
Hearing the sound, several people turned their heads simultaneously to look.
Maeve and Sarah stood at the doorway. Maeve’s expression appeared calm and collected, revealing nothing of her thoughts, while Sarah’s expression was much more straightforward.
Mila sat up, looking a bit frail, "Hopper, aren’t you going to apologize?"
Sarah looked at her, surprised.
Director Osborne chuckled, "It’s all a misunderstanding. When you weren’t here, I talked with Mila. She said it was Maeve who gave her medicine to relieve the symptoms and then went to find a doctor."
Maeve lowered her head to look at Mila, who smiled at her, looking innocent and harmless. "Hopper was too worried about me, I’m sorry, Maeve, I’ve asked her to apologize to you."
Hopper, her agent, seemed a bit reluctant when she heard Mila say this, but still, she stood in front of Maeve rather awkwardly, "I’m sorry, I was overthinking."
Sarah murmured, "Finally found your master, so you stopped barking?"
"You!"
"Hopper! Cough, cough, cough." Mila, visibly agitated, said, "Stop talking, continue apologizing."
Hopper lowered her head further.
Sarah and Maeve exchanged a glance, both detecting a hint of mutual confusion.
Sarah hadn’t expected Mila to be so reasonable. She couldn’t be blamed for thinking too much; Maeve had encountered too many strange characters along the way, so being cautious wasn’t wrong; one must always guard against others.
Maeve simply felt something was off, though she couldn’t quite pinpoint what exactly.
"I’m sorry, it was my mistake earlier, please forgive me," Hopper bowed to the two.
But she didn’t straighten up immediately; it was as if she was waiting for Maeve and Sarah to forgive her before she would stand upright.
At this moment, everyone’s gaze was on Maeve.
Maeve didn’t look at Hopper but instead at Mila, though her words were directed at Hopper, "Got it." 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎
Several people didn’t understand the implication of Maeve’s words, but Sarah grasped it immediately.
Maeve saying ’got it’ meant she’d seen Hopper’s apology and knew it was a misunderstanding.
But she didn’t forgive her.
Sarah also said, "Got it."
Were those ten minutes wasted being insulted for nothing, thinking a simple apology would make everything go away?
Maeve indeed meant this, but she wasn’t going to go out of her way to make trouble for Hopper. She apologized, Maeve didn’t accept it.
It’s just that simple.
Mila’s eyes flickered with reflection, then she said, "Hopper, since they forgave you, you can stand up. Go have some breakfast, don’t go hungry."
Hopper nodded at her, looking a bit aggrieved but not resentful at all.
Maeve finally realized what felt off.
Most relationships between artists and agents aren’t like hers with Sarah. Hopper probably has more than one artist under her, yet she personally brought Mila here.
Moreover, between artists and agents, the agent usually holds more power, except for those who have their own studios or are exceptionally popular, where the artist might have a bit more say.
