Mr. CEO's Substitute Bride-Chapter 878 - 874: None of Your Business, You’re Not Family!
Melody Zachary was wearing a brown piece of fabric that resembled a sack; it was very loose and long, reaching down to her knees. Underneath, she wore a pair of black wide-leg pants, and her shoes were hidden by the pant legs, making her legs look long and giving them a three-dimensional effect. On her head was a brown woolen hat, sunglasses on her face, a mask—everything a celebrity needs to go through the airport without being underdressed.

"Mom, how high are those high heels you’re wearing?"
He knew his mother’s height well; this outfit made her look significantly taller than when she was wearing sandals earlier, by more than ten centimeters.
"Not high," Melody said with a smile, her eyes behind the sunglasses looking quite smug. She then lifted her foot to show her son, "Look, not too high and very stylish."
Looking at the towering platform heels that must have been at least ten centimeters high, Felix was at a loss for words. "Mom, are those shoes comfortable to walk in?"
"Not very comfortable," Melody admitted, glancing down at her shoes, "but it’s all for the sake of looking good."
"Mom, at your age, does looking good really matter that much?" Felix asked, torn between laughter and tears. Melody playfully chided him, "What do you know? Your mom is a public figure now, so I have to be mindful of my image. Haven’t you noticed? It’s the celebrity trend to show off at airports with street photography. Just imagine, if a reporter recognizes me while I’m waiting for a flight and takes a few good shots, it could boost my fame quite a bit!"
Felix Shaw...
He wearily rubbed his forehead, feeling like his mother was really losing it. Just as he was at a loss, Melody urgently urged him, "Let’s go, don’t dawdle. I’ve already set a time with my assistant. If we’re late, they’ll think I’m being a diva!"
With that, she hurriedly pulled her suitcase toward the apartment door. Whether it was due to her rushing or not being accustomed to such high heels, she let out an "ouch" after just a couple of steps and stumbled slightly, saved only by holding onto her suitcase for balance.
"Mom, please change your shoes." Felix went over quickly and supported her, "No need, I just moved too quickly. It’s fine if I go a bit slower."
Melody insisted, leaving Felix exasperated. Eventually, he had to half-drag her like a queen, supporting her into the elevator with one hand on her suitcase and the other arm around her.
Seeing Melody exit the apartment door, Oliver Shaw, sitting in the driver’s seat, was visibly taken aback. His brows immediately furrowed in displeasure as he pushed open the car door and walked toward the mother and son duo.
"The older you get, the worse you dress. Look at what you’re wearing. Daring to step out wrapped in a sack, aren’t you ashamed!"
Getting scolded by Oliver right at the door, Melody retorted without missing a beat.
"Listen, Oliver, you’re getting old and out of touch with trends, so don’t express opinions so casually. Luckily, this isn’t on set, or people would laugh you off the stage the moment you opened your mouth."
"What kind of nonsense is this," Oliver retorted disapprovingly, giving Melody another thorough, criticizing glance. They say clothes make the person, and even though Melody’s outfit was quite odd, it indeed had a bit of a star quality.
"Why aren’t you enjoying the New Year at home? Where are you planning to go wild?" Oliver coldly questioned. Melody proudly lifted her chin, "Oh well, I’ve taken on two roles in different shows. See, even during the holidays, I have to head back to the set for filming."
"This is utterly ridiculous!" Oliver frowned disapprovingly, while Melody sneered dismissively, "Like you care! I’ll do what I want; you’re not the boss of me!"
