Mr. CEO's Substitute Bride-Chapter 711 - 707, increasingly heartbroken
Being fed by Felix Shaw, that feeling was very sweet. Mia Foster silently swore in her heart that she would treat him well, because he was really pitiable.
Mia Foster knew that being deceived by the person she trusted most was the most heartbreaking and unbearable reality.
While sipping her lips and watching Felix Shaw chew his food, Mia Foster was constantly wrestling within herself, wondering whether to deliberately hint about the fact that her future father-in-law, Oliver Shaw, had a mistress outside.
Felix Shaw scooped up more rice, then turned to Mia Foster, "Do you want more?"
In fact, he knew very well that Mia Foster’s request to have a meal together was just an excuse. Although it was still lunchtime, Mia Foster had come late and it was almost time to start work in the afternoon.
Mia Foster shook her head, "I’m full," she swallowed the rice in her mouth and then stood up, "Coffee or plain water, I’ll get it for you."
"Coffee,"
Felix Shaw scraped the last bit of rice clean, "Make it strong."
"Okay," Mia Foster smiled in response, then walked out of the office.
Felix Shaw set down the food box and chopsticks, staring in the direction of the door, his peach-blossom eyes slowly narrowing, as his tongue swept over his thin lips while chewing - a casual gesture, yet very sensual.
He always felt that Mia Foster’s behavior today was too abnormal, as if she was actively trying to please him, and yet seemed to have something to say but hesitated.
About ten minutes later, Mia Foster brought back coffee. She placed one cup on Felix Shaw’s desk and the other on the coffee table. It was already time to start work in the afternoon, yet she was not in a hurry to return to her company.
Felix Shaw picked up the coffee and as he brought it to his lips, he looked at Mia Foster and asked, "Aren’t you supposed to be working this afternoon?"
"Oh, I’ve been quite free recently."
Felix Shaw nodded and said nothing.
Having been busy at the construction site all morning, he felt a bit tired. Felix Shaw took a sip of coffee, set it down, then leaned back in his executive chair, rubbing his temple with one hand.
Seeing his tired look, Mia Foster felt even more distressed. She bowed her head and sipped her coffee, not disturbing him.
At this moment, she just wanted to quietly stay by his side.
Leaning back in his executive chair, Felix Shaw raised his eyes and looked over. Mia Foster was preoccupied, so even though she was looking down, her brows were knotted in worry.
"Something on your mind?" Felix Shaw, though flirtatious, wasn’t brainless.
"Ah?" Mia Foster looked up, met Felix Shaw’s probing gaze, and hurriedly smiled shaking her head, "No, nothing, what could possibly be on my mind."
For Mia Foster, Felix Shaw felt that he still understood her well, a confident and proud woman who hardly looked as troubled as she did now, displaying her worries openly on her face.
Mia Foster wouldn’t speak, and Felix Shaw didn’t force her. Unimportant people, he couldn’t be bothered to care about.
Picking up the coffee again, he took another sip, then propped himself up and began working on a document.
Mia Foster continued to sip her coffee in small sips, thinking about the events of the noon and unintentionally asked, "At this time, Uncle Shaw should also be in the office, right?"
The offices of father and son were on the same floor, and she would likely hear if he returned.
"You need something from dad?"
Felix Shaw looked over, his brows slightly raised and that half-smiling expression made Mia Foster’s breath catch.
Although shrewd in business, in front of her closest people, Mia Foster was actually a straightforward woman. Worried that if she continued sitting there she might accidentally reveal the noon incident, she hurriedly put down her coffee, grabbed her bag and stood up.
"Just remembered, there’s a last-minute meeting this afternoon."
