Mr. CEO's Ex-Wife: A Cunning Comeback-Chapter 340: Daniel’s Private Photos
Chapter 340: Chapter 340: Daniel’s Private Photos
The makeup artist and photographer were speechless, and Stephanie didn’t want to waste any more time. She quickly took charge and started assigning roles.
"Just focus on showing off his cool side. No fancy makeup or styling. The goal is to get Mommy’s attention with these photos. Okay, lighting team to the left, photographers to the right..."
With Stephanie in charge, the team managed to shoot a few solid sets.
Even though everyone was nervous around Daniel, they all agreed that he looked amazing on camera. Every photo felt like it came straight out of a big movie scene.
When Philip walked in, he was stunned to see Daniel actually following the team’s directions. For once, Daniel looked like a normal person. It was hard to believe.
"We’re done here," Daniel said as soon as he saw Philip. He knew Philip had come to talk about the virus. He quickly called off the shoot.
Stephanie was already gone. She’d gotten bored halfway through and went to her room to play computer games.
Philip walked up and gave Daniel a pat on the shoulder. He leaned closer and whispered, "Daniel, do you remember when you fell for Camille’s trap?"
Daniel paused briefly. Of course, he remembered.
"After that night, do you remember the way Chantie looked at you?" Philip asked, snickering.
Daniel frowned as the memory came back to him. That morning, when he woke up, Chantelle had looked at him with a shy, flustered expression.
Now that he thought about it, just remembering that moment made something arouse inside him. His blood seemed to heat up. And from that day on, every time she saw him, she would always blush.
Philip had a theory. He figured that the sight of Daniel, completely naked in the bathroom, had left such a strong impression on Chantelle that she couldn’t forget it. Every time she saw him, that image probably popped back into her mind.
Before Daniel could respond, Philip gave a quick signal to the photography crew. Then, while Daniel was still lost in thought, he dragged him into a bathroom and splashed water on him immediately.
When Daniel was soaked, Philip shoved him straight into the bathtub.
"Start shooting! Hurry up!" he shouted.
Philip couldn’t stop laughing. Seeing Daniel like this, completely unprepared and dripping wet, was priceless. These photos were going to be legendary.
Thirty minutes later, Chantelle received a batch of photos featuring Daniel. She zoomed in to take a closer look. She wanted to laugh at how he was trying to look cool, but deep down, she had to admit that his face was flawless.
As she reached the last photo, her heart skipped a beat.
Daniel looked like he had been pushed and was about to fall into the bathtub. His shirt was soaking wet and stuck tightly to his skin, revealing his toned abs. His pants were clearly struggling to hold back something much bigger underneath.
There was no way Stephanie took this photo.
A message from Daniel came in right away.
"Philip made me take those. Keep them safe. Don’t let anyone else see them."
Chantelle quickly replied, "That photo’s a bit too private. Are you sure you didn’t send it to me by accident?"
Daniel quickly grabbed his phone back from Philip and shot him a sharp look. Philip just raised his hands, pretending he was innocent, then ran away to look for Stephanie.
Daniel answered, "Who else would I send something like that to? If not you, then who?"
Chantelle’s heart pounded hard. She quickly changed the topic. "Mr. Wilson, do you have too much free time?"
"I’ve been working on a biotechnology project, but I handed most of it over to Jude," he sent.
Biotechnology? Chantelle’s mind immediately went to Natalia. She had seen her visit the Wilson residence twice.
Suddenly, Daniel called her.
"Daniel, I hope your project goes well and you make a lot of money," Chantelle said, ready to end the call.
But his voice came through again, more serious this time. "Chantelle."
"Yeah?" she answered softly, not in the mood to tease him anymore.
"I’ll always be by your side. Always."
No matter how her treatment turned out. No matter if she forgave him or not. He had already made up his mind to stay.
Chantelle felt something touch her heart. An intense emotion was slowly rushing through her.
"Even if I don’t stand by you somehow?"
She was testing him, but her palms were already starting to sweat.
Daniel’s voice came again like the gentle sound of a cello. "As long as I can see you, nothing else matters."
A smile slowly appeared on her face, but she remained silent. She didn’t know why she felt happy, yet a trace of sadness lingered in her heart as well.
"If you have time to take those kinds of photos, you should focus on making more money," she said. "Don’t forget, I still own shares in the Wilson Group of Companies."
She suddenly understood why someone as proud as him would send her so many photos.
He must have been feeling anxious and worried that he couldn’t see her again. Maybe he was scared she’d forget about him.
But in the past six years, she had never forgotten his face.
How could she forget him when they had only been apart for a few days?
She had a feeling... she would never forget him. Not in this lifetime.
"You’re right."
Daniel ended the call, then stormed into Stephanie’s room and pulled Philip out.
"How can I see Chantelle again?" he demanded.
He wasn’t a saint. He didn’t want his wife to only see him in photos when she missed him.
Maybe it was selfish of him to think she missed him.
The truth was, he wasn’t as confident as he pretended to be. Every time he thought about the Nelsen brothers hanging around Chantelle, it bothered him. Now Joseph was after her. And Trenton too. If he kept doing nothing and just stayed in his mansion, he might really lose her.
"You have to get rid of all the viruses in your body."
"How am I supposed to do that? You better tell me now!"
"You’re still recovering from your injuries. We can only go through with it when your wounds are nearly better. If not, the procedure will be too painful."
"Steph’s birthday is next month. It’s coming up fast. I need to be there with the kids and Chantelle," Daniel said firmly. He wanted the treatment done as soon as possible. He wasn’t giving Philip any room to delay.
Philip rubbed his nose and muttered, "Weren’t those photos good enough? You looked like you were having the time of your life during the shoot."
"She only took a few minutes to look at the photos I spent hours working on. Then she had time to cook with Oscar, drink coffee with Rowan, and play golf with Alexander..."
"Okay, I get it. I’ll take another look at the procedure when I’m back in the lab," Philip said, scratching his head. He muttered under his breath as he was annoyed by how stubborn Daniel was in wanting to see his wife.
Was Daniel’s life more important, or was being at his daughter’s birthday the bigger deal?
Stephanie was still young. There would be many more birthdays to celebrate with her.
