Chapter 338: Chapter 338: Don’t Lie To Me

"Don’t look at me like that. I didn’t know she was pregnant," Thirteen said with a shrug. He really didn’t. When he caught her, she was in bed having fun with another man.

"You monster! I’ll kill you!" Fred shouted, swinging his broken wrist at him. freewebnσvel.cѳm

Thirteen stepped back and gave him a pitying look. "Even if she is pregnant, I doubt that baby’s yours. Last time you visited her, another guy was hiding under her bed."

Fred’s face froze in shock. He clearly didn’t believe him. "Don’t lie to me! I won’t forgive you for what you did!"

Thirteen rolled his eyes. "You think you’re important enough for me to make a lie?" Then he gave a sly smile. "How about this, tell me why Joseph is after Chantelle, and I’ll find out if her baby is still alive. Deal?"

Fred hesitated for a moment, but the thought of having a child of his own clouded his judgment. "It’s because Sir is Ms. Chantelle’s senior. He has feelings for her..."

Thirteen raised an eyebrow. "So you’re not that worried about your child after all? All that rage earlier, was it just for show?" He pressed his foot down on Fred’s fingers, which were resting on the edge of the car window.

A teasing smile curled on Thirteen’s lips.

Pain shot through Fred’s hand, and anger rose inside his chest. He wanted nothing more than to rip Thirteen apart.

"I’ll talk! I’ll talk!" Fred shouted. "It’s Trenton! He’s the one trying to ruin things for Chantelle. He doesn’t want her to end up with Daniel!"

"Oh wow, can’t believe you actually ratted out Trenton," Thirteen said with a dramatic sigh before turning to check on the child as he promised earlier.

Meanwhile, Fred was silently cursing him. Thirteen was the one who forced the truth out of him, yet now he was making it sound like Fred had betrayed Trenton willingly.

No, that wasn’t it. Thirteen was clearly enjoying watching him suffer.

"Hey," Thirteen called out as he came back, "there’s a huge pool of blood on the ground."

He didn’t bother finding out where it came from.

Fred shut his eyes, trying to calm himself. The car was wrecked. He knew the chances were slim. Still, he asked, "Is she... still alive?"

Thirteen let out a chuckle. "So, is Lone Wolf still working for Trenton? Or did they split because of some power struggle?"

Fred took a deep breath. "Lone Wolf used to be under Trenton, but he never really followed orders. Trenton eventually issued an assassination on him."

Once Thirteen got the answer he wanted, he walked back to check on the woman. When he returned, he said casually, "She’s not dead."

"She got lucky. The crash pushed her into a corner of the car. Her stomach wasn’t hurt."

Seeing the doubt on Fred’s face, Thirteen added a few more details to make it clear he wasn’t lying.

Something sparked in Fred’s eyes. He shouted, desperate, "Go save her! Please, save her!"

Thirteen crossed his arms and gave him a smug look. "That depends on how well you do, Mr. Larbacher."

He was clearly pleased that the woman had become a tool to force Fred to talk.

Fred let out a long sigh. He clenched his jaw and nodded.

Thirteen then told his men to pull the woman from the wrecked car. They moved fast and rushed her to the hospital.

Fred didn’t move. He stayed right where he was, waiting for any word from the hospital. In the meantime, he kept giving Thirteen bits of useless information, just enough to keep him hooked.

Thirteen was running out of patience. Still, he knew Fred wouldn’t say anything useful unless he was sure the woman was alive. So, he waited.

He couldn’t understand Fred’s logic. To Thirteen, it was insane for Fred to risk everything for a child that wasn’t even his blood.

But the woman’s injuries were too severe. She died halfway through the surgery.

Thirteen knew there was nothing more to gain. He turned and left.

But just as his car started to move, it was suddenly blocked. A group of men surrounded him. It was clear that they were sent by Joseph.

"Hey, you’re finally here! I haven’t had a good workout in a while," Thirteen said as he stretched, looking excited for a fight.

The bodyguards surrounding him started to hesitate. Most people would be nervous in this situation, but Thirteen looked excited like he was looking forward for a bloody fight.

He didn’t even seem bothered that Fred had stalled him long enough for the bodyguards to arrive.

"Come on, all of you at once," Thirteen said, motioning them forward. "I’ve got dinner waiting at home."

The younger guards couldn’t take the taunt. They lost their patience and attacked him together.

Before the bodyguards could even reach him, a rush of footsteps came from behind.

In the blink of an eye, everything went dark. One by one, they were shoved into sacks by Thirteen’s men.

"Not a single one of you gave me a real fight," Thirteen said as he brushed off his hands. Then he told his men to load the bodyguards into their cars.

The guards were helpless. They didn’t even get a chance to fight properly. Thirteen had used dirty tricks from the start. It wasn’t fair. They were furious but couldn’t do anything about it.

Thirteen pulled out his phone and called Chantelle, sounding excited. "Chantie, it’s all taken care of! The moment you left, Fred dropped his guard completely."

"Good. Make sure they tell you everything they know," Chantelle said with a slight smile as she returned to the Western Hill Villa.

She knew Fred was tough and loyal. He wouldn’t betray Joseph or anyone close to him so easily. That’s why she chose to leave first to give Thirteen the chance to squeeze some information from Fred’s mouth.

She also knew Fred would try to buy time for Joseph’s men to show up. But that worked in their favor. Thirteen was ready, and once they arrived, he could take them all at once.

Chantelle didn’t believe everyone was as loyal as Fred.

After dealing with him, she finally lay down on the sofa to rest. She looked at a photo Daniel had recently sent her.

The photo was clearly taken by Stephanie. It looked like something straight out of a fashion magazine.

Chantelle almost burst out laughing when she saw Daniel actually posing seriously for the camera.

His face was covered in a thick foundation. His eyebrows had been darkened, his cheeks had bright red blush, and his lips looked glossy. She never imagined she’d see him like this.

She laughed so hard that her stomach started to hurt. Then she sent him a voice message. "This must be the peak of your life, Mr. Wilson. I salute you."
