Mr. CEO's Ex-Wife: A Cunning Comeback-Chapter 331: Your Beloved Wife Has Fallen For Another Man
Chapter 331: Chapter 331: Your Beloved Wife Has Fallen For Another Man
At the same moment, Daniel received a message; one from Kane, and another from Philip.
"Daddy! Red alert! Your beloved wife has fallen for another man!" ƒreewebɳovel.com
"Hey Daniel, I think she’s found greener pastures, man."
Daniel immediately called Philip. "What happened?"
"Chantie said Oscar saved her life, and now she’s ready to devote herself to him!" Philip said, sounding panicked but there was a trace of excitement and mischief in his voice.
Russell, who was standing next to him, turned away and cringed.
"My brother’s a pretty decent guy. He looks the best when he’s boxing. Women can’t take their eyes off his lean body," Alexander said loudly as he walked past Philip, making sure Daniel could hear him.
"Hmph. She’s still my wife. There’s no way she’d be with another man," Daniel said. He was burning with jealousy, but deep down, he believed Chantelle would stay loyal as long as they were married.
Philip didn’t agree. "That’s exactly why she keeps telling me to remind you about finalizing the divorce. And let’s not forget that you were kissing Kate too. So, it shouldn’t be a big deal if she wants to date Oscar, right?"
"There’s nothing going on between me and Kate," Daniel answered coldly.
Philip rolled his eyes. "No one’s buying that. I’m telling you, Daniel, if you want Chantie back, maybe it’s time to show off your muscles like Oscar does."
"Do I look like I’m in any shape to flaunt my muscles?" Daniel said, sounding pissed off.
"Ahem! Right, I forgot you’re badly injured," Philip replied. "But you can’t just disappear from Chantie’s life. If this keeps going, she’ll forget about you sooner or later."
As blunt as Philip was, Daniel knew he was right.
He’d been avoiding Chantelle because he was afraid the virus in his body might make her condition worse.
But if he kept his distance much longer, everything he had worked so hard to rebuild with her would eventually fall apart.
The more Daniel thought about it, the more restless he felt. He quickly messaged Kane. "You have to help me. My happiness is at stake."
"Job’s as good as done!" Kane replied with a saluting emoji.
Still restless, Daniel walked over to Stephanie, who was playing the piano. He waited until she finished her piece, then smiled and showered her with praise.
"Steph, what kind of man does your mommy like?" he asked carefully.
Stephanie looked him up and down with a serious face.
If I say Mommy likes you like this, I’d be lying, she thought.
"Don’t worry. Just be honest with me," Daniel said, noticing Stephanie’s hesitation. He didn’t like that she was holding back, but he didn’t want to be too hard on her either. After all, she was his precious daughter.
"Let me think," Stephanie said, counting on her fingers. "Mommy likes a man with a handsome face, a strong body, smooth skin, and someone who looks good in any outfit or even without one. He also has to be low-key but still elegant and classy."
Daniel looked down at himself. "I... I think that’s me, right?"
"Well, you are good-looking," Stephanie admitted. "But you’re old now. You’ve got wrinkles on your face and scars all over your body. That doesn’t look nice at all." She spoke with a straight face as if she were being completely honest.
Old? I’m not even thirty yet!
"No way, Steph. Look closely," Daniel said, picking up a hand mirror. "I don’t have a single wrinkle on my face!"
"But Oscar’s a few years younger than you! And he has a baby face," Stephanie said. "You... you’ve got eye bags, and you haven’t shaved in days. Mommy really doesn’t like men who look tired and messy."
She hoped her dad would get the message and finally go to sleep.
Be a good boy, Daddy. Just take a break. You won’t die without Mommy for now.
Stephanie’s words hit Daniel hard. He suddenly realized how worn out he looked. He hadn’t been getting enough rest, not with work and worrying about Chantelle.
No wonder Chantelle didn’t seem impressed when they last met.
"Daddy, you need to get your good looks back so Mommy can fall for you again," Stephanie said with a wide grin, waving a safety razor in front of him.
Daniel had always thought of himself as a capable man. He never cared much about appearances.
But after hearing what Stephanie and Philip said, he realized he had a problem.
Still, if it’s for Chantelle, then it’s worth it.
"Daddy, why don’t I be your stylist?" Stephanie said excitedly. "I’m actually really good at it!"
She didn’t expect her father would be easy to persuade.
Finally! I’ve been bored at home all day. At least now I’ve got something fun to do!
Daniel saw the sly smile on his daughter’s face but didn’t mind it. As long as she was happy, that was all that mattered.
Half an hour later, a fresh-faced man walked into the living room of the Wilson residence. It was Daniel, looking completely different. The transformation clearly amused the butler and the servants, but they held back their laughter.
"Well? Isn’t he handsome?" Stephanie said proudly.
The butler gave the servants a quick wink, and they all nodded right away. "Yes, Mr. Daniel looks very handsome! Ms. Stephanie, you’re such a talented stylist!"
"Mr. Daniel looks so gentle and approachable now."
Daniel didn’t have a mirror nearby, so he had no idea what he looked like. But that didn’t bother him as his daughter was happy, and that was enough.
"Daddy, sit over there," Stephanie said, pointing to a spot. "Rest your forehead on your hand, tilt your head 45 degrees, and look up at the ceiling."
Everyone had praised her work, so she figured it was time for a photo shoot.
Daniel looked at his daughter with soft, loving eyes.
Stephanie pouted. "Don’t smile! You have to look sad. The theme for the first photo set is The Melancholic Prince."
The servants stood there speechless.
That’s his version of smiling? He still looks as stern as ever!
"I said you should look melancholic, not cool! Do you even know what that means?" Stephanie huffed, then posed herself to show him exactly what she wanted.
Stephanie looked natural when she did the pose, and Daniel understood right away.
But he was used to keeping a cold, serious face. No matter how many times Stephanie adjusted his pose, he just couldn’t pull off the look she wanted.
Stephanie let out a sigh and said slowly. "Daddy, what if Mommy really fell for someone else? What would you do?"
Daniel’s face darkened, and his tone turned cold. "That’s not possible."
