Chapter 302: Chapter 302: They Looked Like Couple

Chantelle wasn’t skinny either, but her body was well-proportioned. Her curves were in all the right places, giving her a naturally attractive figure.

She also chose to stay low-key for the event. She didn’t want to steal the spotlight from the guests, so she wore a simple and modest outfit. It made her look fresh and elegant, not bulky at all.

Camille wanted to say something sarcastic to defend her pride. But when she looked at Natalia and Chantelle’s figures, nothing came out.

Then she overheard someone whispering, "Ms. Law is really beautiful. Is that Mrs. Wilson next to her? She’s stunning too. But who’s the woman beside them? She looks so round and chubby!"

Camille shot a sharp glare at the people talking about her. When she first arrived, they were all praising her. But now, because of Chantelle and Natalia, she felt like a joke.

"Ms. Nelsen, are you okay?" Natalia asked when she noticed Camille’s sour expression.

Chantelle kept looking at Camille, worried she might lose control.

"I’m sorry, I’m not feeling well. Please excuse me," Camille said before turning around and walking away, ignoring Natalia’s concern.

Chantelle gave a quick glance to the bodyguards, signaling them to follow Camille.

It looked like someone had given Camille a lesson. Still, she managed to endure it and she didn’t lose her temper.

"Ms. Law, your dance partner is injured. He might not be able to go on stage later!" a waiter suddenly rushed over to tell Natalia the bad news.

"So I don’t have to dance anymore?" Natalia asked, feeling relieved.

She never liked dancing, especially not in front of a crowd. However, her parents thought she spent too much time in the lab and didn’t know how to handle personal matters. That’s why they always pushed her to socialize more.

Chantelle had spoken to her parents and suggested her as this year’s ambassador for philanthropy.

Natalia had been in a bad mood ever since she found out two days ago that she had to perform.

"Ms. Law, you still need to perform," Chantelle said. She had promised Natalia’s parents that she would guide and impress her. If Natalia didn’t go on stage, Chantelle would break her word. And the Charity Association might lose their chance to work with the Law family again.

"Isn’t Ms. Nelsen performing after me? Can’t you push her to perform first instead?" Natalia looked at Chantelle with hopeful eyes.

Chantelle let out a silent sigh in her heart. She could already imagine how pleased Camille would be if she asked her to perform earlier.

"Maybe we can..." Chantelle leaned closer and whispered a suggestion to Natalia.

Natalia nodded as she thought it over.

Ten minutes later, the host walked onto the stage and announced the next performance. It was Natalia’s duet dance. The room immediately fell silent.

However, after the host walked away, Natalia didn’t show up. People in the crowd began whispering to each other.

Backstage, Camille was putting her makeup on with a smug smile on her face.

Even if Natalia got the ambassador title, as long as she didn’t show up on stage, Camille would still be the star of the night.

She was waiting for the moment Chantelle would come running to ask her to save the show.

But suddenly, loud applause erupted from the hall.

Camille quickly stood up and peeked out.

There was Natalia, standing under the bright spotlight, dancing beautifully and gracefully.

What made Camille even more furious was that Chantelle was dancing with her!

"How could this happen?!" Camille was still holding her powder compact and wanted to slam it on the floor angrily.

But just then, someone grabbed her wrist. She turned around and saw Alexander. Her angry expression quickly disappeared.

"Alex," Camille said softly, lowering her head.

Out of her three older brothers, Camille wasn’t afraid of the eldest, Rowan. He always spoiled her and gave her whatever she wanted.

Her second brother, Oscar, was a lawyer. He had a sharp tongue and always kept things fair. If Camille did something wrong, he wouldn’t hesitate to punish her, even if she was his little sister. Luckily, he usually stayed out of her business.

But the one Camille was truly afraid of was her third brother, Alexander.

He was a doctor. When they were kids, Camille once took her anger out on Alexander’s rabbits after getting scolded by Steve. Alexander caught her and locked her in a room, forcing her to watch him dissect animals the entire afternoon.

It scared her so much that she didn’t eat meat for months.

Later, Camille tried to get back at him. But no matter what she did or even when she complained to Steve, Alexander always found a way to shut her down. In the end, she was the one who got punished every time.

Over time, she developed a natural fear of him.

"I told you to get along with Chantelle and Natalia. Did you forget that?" Alexander said, with a small, chilling smile on his face.

Camille’s hands shook slightly. "I really tried to talk to them, but Chantelle kept pushing me away... and she wouldn’t let me near Natalia..."

"Why can’t you even handle something so simple? Fine. Just go back to Carcosa and take care of Grandpa," Alexander said, losing his patience. He swiftly pulled out his phone to call Steve.

Steve might care the most about Rowan and love Camille the most, but when it came to listening, he always followed Alexander. It was like Alexander knew how to get into people’s heads. He only had to say a few words, and Steve would agree immediately.

Camille had escaped from Steve and enjoyed a short period of freedom. She didn’t want to go back to that life. So, she clenched her teeth and promised Alexander she would get along with Chantelle and Natalia.

Meanwhile, Daniel sat with a gloomy look on his face as he watched Chantelle and Natalia dancing and hugging on stage.

His mood worsened when he noticed how intently Chantelle was looking at Natalia.

"Wow, Mommy dances beautifully!" Kane said with wide eyes. He had no idea Chantelle could dance like that.

Stephanie smiled and glanced at Daniel. "Auntie Natalia dances well too. They look like a couple."

"No, they’re more like two snakes. They act like sisters," Railer said, giving Daniel a strange look.

Daniel started grumbling inside.

Thanks, Rai. But that didn’t help at all. That’s my wife up there! Dancing like that in front of everyone at this banquet! Look at those shameless men staring at her! If they weren’t worried about saving face, they’d probably be drooling and whistling by now!

"Sir, I can cut the power," Ashton suggested with a mischievous look.

Daniel gave him a cold glare. Ashton immediately backed off and shut his mouth.
