Chapter 295: Chapter 295: You’ve Already Lost Confidence

"Why are you scared? I’m not well. I won’t do anything to you," Daniel mumbled and lowered his eyes.

The intense heat from his body faded. Now, he just looked lonely and defeated.

"It’s only been one night, and you’ve already lost confidence?"

Seeing him like that, Chantelle felt anxious. Maybe it was guilt. After all, she had given him a sedative without thinking it through, and now he was like this because of it.

"It’s fine. You’re not interested in me anyway," Daniel said softly. "If I really have a health problem, it’s better. At least you won’t be scared of me anymore."

He stood up and stepped out of the bathtub.

As he moved, the shape of his body became even more defined.

Daniel’s legs were weak after sitting in the bathtub for so long. He nearly lost his balance when getting out.

Chantelle quickly came forward and helped him, guiding him into her arms. He tried to stand but couldn’t hold himself up. "Sorry, I can’t stand properly," he said softly.

At first, his skin felt cool, but soon it became hot as his body temperature rose. When she touched his forehead, it was burning. He must have a fever from the sudden change in temperature.

"Did Philip give you any medicine? Why are you in an ice bath?" Chantelle asked, worried. freewёbn૦νeɭ.com

Daniel hugged her tightly and gently rubbed her back. "I feel awful," he whispered. "I don’t want to take any medicine."

Chantelle tried to stop him, but she missed and ended up slapping his hips instead. The sound was loud and sharp. She clearly felt the shape of his backside; it was round and soft.

Daniel let out a moan. He seems like a different person today.

"You’ve been naughty," he said, picking her up so their bodies were pressed together. She could feel his heat through every part of her body.

He was burning up, especially where their hips touched. For a moment, she wondered if Philip had lied to her.

But then, the heat faded. Daniel stepped back and leaned on the bathtub, looking upset.

Chantelle looked at him and asked, "Are you... not able to get hard?"

He didn’t say anything. She felt bad for him and gently tapped his shoulder to comfort him.

"Would you mind?" he looked up at her, eyes watery like he was about to cry.

"Of course not," she answered right away, afraid of hurting his pride.

Daniel was touched. He brought her hand to his face and said, "I’ll never forget how much you love me."

She blinked, a little confused. How did he end up thinking I loved him that much?

"Are you being honest?" he asked.

"Of course!" she replied quickly.

How could anyone crush this handsome man’s heart when he’d just learned something so painful?

"Great, I’m relieved," Daniel said with a sigh. He stood up and leaned on Chantelle’s shoulder for support.

She thought about stepping back, but the look he gave her made her stay. It was like he’d be hurt if she didn’t.

"My dear wife, I feel cold," he said, shivering.

Chantelle snapped back to reality. If they stayed in the bathroom any longer, both of them might catch a fever.

She quickly used her hairpin to unlock the door and helped Daniel to the bed. He was so tired, and he nearly collapsed, but she caught him just in time.

His clothes were soaked. He couldn’t sleep like that.

"Take off your clothes," she said, tapping his face gently. But he didn’t respond.

Letting out a long sigh, she undressed him herself. His whole body was in full view now, and she couldn’t help but run her hand over his perfect abs.

Her eyes trailed downward. Still no sign of arousal. She felt another wave of pity as she pulled the blanket over his bare body.

Exhausted from everything, Chantelle was about to leave when she realized the bedroom door was locked. It wasn’t a regular door, and her hairpin couldn’t unlock it.

She sat down on the couch and noticed the room was getting colder. She checked the air conditioner and saw it was set to 66 degrees Fahrenheit.

She tried to adjust the temperature, but it was stuck. She wondered if Philip had something to do with it.

After sitting there shivering for a few minutes, she sneezed. She knew she had to get into bed with Daniel. She couldn’t afford to get sick before the charity dinner tomorrow.

Chantelle slept soundly that night. It was so comfortable that she almost couldn’t get out of bed the next morning. She stretched and turned, then saw Daniel lying beside her.

"My dear wife, are you awake?" he asked with a soft smile, watching her gently. She wasn’t used to seeing him like this. She was about to move away when he held her by the waist.

"Good morning, Mr. Wilson," she said with a forced smile. He moved closer and kissed her. She froze, surprised, and her cheeks turned red. "It’s time to get up."

"Sure," Daniel replied in a low voice. Chantelle couldn’t stop thinking about how he looked lying in the bathtub. Her face felt hot. Damn!

She quickly pushed him away and jumped out of bed. Half of his bare body was now uncovered, except for his lower half. It was hard to ignore.

"Hey, can you call Philip and ask him to open the door?" she asked, looking away awkwardly. She could hear him putting on his clothes.

The moment she shut her eyes, all she could think about was Daniel, in the bathtub or half naked on the bed just now. She started to wonder if it had been way too long since she last had sex. Was that why she felt so desperate?

"Okay, let’s go," Daniel said, suddenly right beside her.

She flinched in surprise and quickly walked over to the window, putting as much distance between them as possible.

Daniel looked a bit upset. He pulled out his phone and called Philip. A few minutes later, the bedroom door clicked open.

Chantelle saw Daniel moving toward her, so she rushed to the door and slipped out before he could say a word.

"How was it? Did it work?" Philip swiftly walked in and his eyes looked tired with dark circles around them.

Daniel gave him a light shove. "She ran away."

"Don’t worry! She’s probably just feeling shy," Philip said with confidence. "I’m sure the way you looked last night left a strong impression in her mind. Now, even if she tries to think about other men, she won’t be able to get you out of her head."
