Mr. CEO's Ex-Wife: A Cunning Comeback-Chapter 289: Do As You Please
Chapter 289: Chapter 289: Do As You Please
Chantelle wasn’t being arrogant. It was just too obvious.
"You’re right," Rowan said. "I wanted to get to know you through Marco. Since I came back to the country, you’ve been kind to me. But I’ve never had the chance to thank you. And now, with everything my sister has done to upset you, I don’t even know how to express my thanks or my apology."
Rowan sounded really sincere.
Chantelle raised an eyebrow and gave a small smile. "It’s not a big deal. No need to be so formal, Mr. Nelsen." freewebnσvel.cøm
Since Rowan still hadn’t said what he really wanted, she didn’t see the point in continuing the conversation.
As she turned to leave, one of the guys beside Rowan suddenly looked nervous. He quickly reached out and grabbed her arm.
"Ms. Chantelle, something seems wrong with your body!"
If he hadn’t look so harmless and stopped pulling her the moment she halted in her tracks, Chantelle would have thrown him to the floor.
"Are you insulting me?"
The guy looked confused and quickly said, "No, I’m not."
"Didn’t you just say I have some kind of illness?" Chantelle said in a rough tone as she walked up to him.
The guy shook his head fast. "I’m not trying to insult you. I’m a doctor. I can tell something’s off. Have you been sleeping poorly? Or do you suddenly fall asleep without warning? Like your body just shuts down all of a sudden."
A flicker of surprise flashed in Chantelle’s eyes. Only Daniel and a few close people knew about her condition. Even if the Nelsens tried to dig, they shouldn’t know about it.
"This is my name card. Please believe me," the guy said, handing it to her.
It said: Alexander Nelsen. He really was a doctor, and he was part of a well-known biological research institute overseas.
While Chantelle was still thinking about who Alexander really was, Thea and Philip found Daniel. He was completely focused on taking pictures of Stephanie, who was now walking the runway for the second time.
"What do you want?" Daniel asked with a frown, clearly annoyed.
"Daniel, if you don’t stop taking photos right now, you might lose your wife," Philip said, nodding toward Chantelle.
When Daniel looked over, he saw Alexander leaning closer and whispering something to Chantelle. He couldn’t hear what was said, but Chantelle was covering her mouth and laughing softly.
Alexander even gave Daniel a sharp glare. He and Chantelle looked a little too intimate in Daniel’s eyes.
A surge of anger rose in his chest. He handed his camera to Ashton and marched straight toward Chantelle.
The second he left, Thea stepped forward and called out to the reporters, "Mr. Wilson has something urgent to handle. Please focus on taking more photos of our models today."
"Ms. Thea, are you sure we’re allowed to take more photos?" one of the reporters asked. He looked nervous after being glared at by Daniel. He also glanced at Ashton for confirmation.
Ashton waved his hand. "Do as you please."
With that, the reporters went back to work. Cameras clicked nonstop as they focused on the models on stage.

When Daniel stopped in front of Chantelle, she was already chatting and shaking hands with Oscar. Rowan had just introduced them, and that’s when Chantelle found out the two men were Rowan’s brothers.
Oscar was a lawyer. Alexander was a doctor. Both of them were excellent at what they did and were well-respected in the Nelsen family.
Earlier, Alexander told Chantelle he liked the dress she was wearing. They wanted to get one just like it for their mother, but they weren’t sure if Chantelle would agree. That’s why they kept sneaking glances at her.
Chantelle, who had been getting attention all night, didn’t think much about the dress. She quickly said yes when they asked to buy it.
After talking for a while, she noticed the same warmth and honesty in them that she had felt with Rowan. That made it easy for them to enjoy the conversation.
When Chantelle suddenly saw Daniel, she remembered what she was supposed to do. She grabbed his sleeve and said, "Don’t you have something to handle at the company? You should go take care of it."
Daniel had been waiting for her to explain. Hearing that only made his expression darker.
"Why? Am I bothering you now?" he asked.
Chantelle thought to herself, You’re not just bothering me... you’re getting in the way of the reporters too. If this keeps up, all my work promoting the boutique will go to waste.
"You really want me to leave?" Daniel cut her off, clearly annoyed. He had pushed back his work just to be with her, yet she was treating him like a nuisance.
Where did these guys even come from? He thought. And why did they all look so much like Rowan, that irritating guy?
"Mr. Wilson, this show means a lot to me," Chantelle said. Her smile had already faded.
Daniel let out a cold snort. "Is it the show that matters to you? Or is it the people attending?"
He glanced at the three brothers. Right away, they could tell Daniel was being harsh. Without a word, all three of them stand beside Chantelle.
The whole scene looked like four people were going against one person.
"Chantelle, let’s talk over there," Oscar said, copying Daniel’s cold tone as he reached for her hand.
But before he could move, a sharp pain shot through his arm. Daniel had grabbed his wrist. His eyes were cold and sharp like he could break Oscar’s wrist right then and there.
"Mr. Wilson, please let go of him," Rowan said calmly. He didn’t want to just stand by and watch his brother get hurt, but he also didn’t want to cause a scene and ruin the event. It was the only warning he could give.
But Daniel was never the type to back down just because someone asked him to. And when he saw that Chantelle looked like she was going to defend Oscar, his grip tightened.
"I’m going to snap your hand as a warning. I hate it when people touch what’s mine."
Rowan realized Daniel wasn’t bluffing. He quickly apologized to Chantelle and got ready to fight Daniel.
Before things could explode, Chantelle meddled between them. She tried to pull Daniel’s hand away from Oscar, but no matter how hard she tried, his grip remained strong.
She then warns Daniel, "If you keep this up, Mr. Wilson, I won’t let you attend any of my events again."
