Mr. CEO Has a Crush on Me-Chapter 247 Can I Be Even More Shameless (1)
Chapter 247: Chapter 247 Can I Be Even More Shameless (1)
The restaurant still had unwashed dishes and utensils; it seemed she had fallen asleep only after eating her fill!
Gu Annan stared intensely at the woman sleeping soundly on the sofa for a long while before finally going upstairs with a clouded face to lock the door again.
When Lu Wanwan awoke, she had no idea what had just happened.
As she walked upstairs and saw that the door was still tightly locked, she faintly felt that Gu Annan was much more concerned about this news than he was about the "passionate night".
But even in anger, she couldn’t skip meals, what a habit!
Lu Wanwan had no way to deal with the locked door and directly called Auntie Li for advice.
Auntie Li was particularly surprised to receive the call, especially when she heard Lu Wanwan say she wanted to pry open the door to find the young master, she was truly delighted.
Without hesitation, she told her the location of the spare key and urged her not to be polite and to quickly open the door.
"Click"
The door indeed opened.
No light was on in the bedroom, only the afterglow of the sunset shone in from the balcony.
Gu Annan stood on the balcony, his tall and straight figure enveloped in a halo of soft evening light, yet his chilly and icy aura was still unmistakable.
"Mr. Gu, please. It’s not easy to run a tabloid, and yet you’ve found out about it. But your demands are too strange; it was okay to increase salaries and reduce workload in the divisions before, but now, forbidding her from having any solo interactions with male celebrities? Are you joking? How about this, I’ll have someone fire her, okay? If she’s fired, will that do?"
"No," Gu Annan said, holding a cell phone in one hand and a cigarette in the other, resting on the balcony railing, "If you don’t want your dad to know about this, just do as I say."
"...Are you threatening me?"
"What do you think, Cousin Ji? I doubt Uncle would want to find out you’re investing in such an unsavory project under his nose. Also, who did you guys smear the most a few years back? It seems to be connected to why you purchased this tabloid. I wonder if Uncle knows about his lover who was disgraced because of that scandal..."
The person on the other end of the phone sounded disheartened, "Alright, alright. I’ll try, but no telling if someone will suspect something. Be careful your fiancée doesn’t start to think this tabloid is actually owned by you."
"Thanks for worrying so much about me."
He heard a sound, turned his head back, and saw Lu Wanwan walking in.
A gleam illuminated his dark eyes, and his thin lips curled up slightly, "We’ll talk another time."
The phone call ended, and he turned around, facing the bedroom and leaning against the balcony railing.
"Who gave you permission to get the key." Gu Annan’s gaze shifted coldly toward her and to the bowl of porridge she was holding.
"I asked Auntie Li for it," she said, placing the freshly heated porridge on the table.
With a scoff of mockery, Gu Annan lifted the cigarette from between his fingers.
His casual steps moved from the balcony inside, exhaling a cloud of smoke that dissipated beside his face, "Auntie Li is getting old; it seems she doesn’t want to continue working for the Gu family."
"Gu Annan!" Lu Wanwan didn’t retreat as he approached, "Whatever you have against me, come at me. It’s not Auntie Li’s fault. I was the one who insisted that she give me the spare key."
"Do I need your opinion on how to deal with her?" Gu Annan stopped close in front of her, looking down at her with a lofty and indifferent gaze.
She lifted her head to meet his eyes but ultimately couldn’t withstand his imposing presence.
Turning her head away to look elsewhere, she said, "I just brought in the porridge, it’s freshly heated and will cool down soon."
She clenched the key in her hand, and with a clang, she put it down on the table.
"Do whatever else you want, I’m leaving."
Gu Annan’s eyes darkened; as she turned to leave, he stepped forward, spun her around, and pinned her against the wall.
