"I am sorry, Alpha Anastasia, but I have to refuse you". Anders said to me and my eyebrows furrowed out of surprise, as I had never expected him to straightforwardly reject me without giving it a thought.

"He- he rejected our Alpha?!".

"How dare he?!".

"Did he even look at himself in the mirror? He’s not worthy of being Alpha Anastasia’s servant, let alone fight beside her!".

The werewolves began to talk against Anders. While the ones who didn’t talk against him were busy glaring at him.

To my greatest surprise, despite the way the werewolves were against Anders, he was unmoved.

That was what I thought, until...

"Our dear Anders must have rejected our Alpha because he must have been afraid of entering the battlefield. His parents raised a big-time coward. I bet his parents who have joined the Night Stars must be ashamed of him!".

Before I could predict what was going to happen, Anders shifted into his wolf form in an instant and pounced on the werewolf who had said those words.

When I saw him raise his paw and was about to strike the werewolf’s face with his claws, I interfered.

I did not bother to shift into my wolf form and I grabbed Anders’ paw. He struggled to break free, but the level of my strength was insane.

"Enough, Anders". I said to him, but he was stubborn. He fiercely opened his mouth wide and wanted to bite off the young werewolf’s head.

I sighed and kicked him off of the young werewolf’s body.

After I kicked Anders, he flew away and hit the ground multiple times in a row before he landed on the ground roughly and was forced to shift back into his human form.

"I clearly told you that’s enough, Anders!". I told him.

Anders stood up from the ground. He wiped the dust on his clothes and turned, before leaving.

’Why is it only now I’m seeing this? His clothes are thin and torn in several places’. I thought to myself as I watched him leave without turning back. Not even once.

When I could no longer see Anders, I focused on the young werewolf who had stood up to his feet.

My eyes darkened as I warned him, "Don’t you dare repeat what you did today. Because next time, you might really lose your head".

I know why I said that to him.

Although Anders’ body was thin, he was obviously strong and would have succeeded in killing the young werewolf if only I hadn’t interfered.

If I take Anders under my wings and make sure he undergoes special training, I feel he would become a very strong help to the shadows’ pack in the future.

’I know what you are thinking, Clara. I support your idea. Since Anders has no parents to look after him, take him under your wings’. Elektra said to me.

Returning my attention to the young werewolf and the other werewolves, and after seeing how they were greatly intimidated by my cold aura and were shivering, I turned around and left.

I am going to my mansion.

Upon arriving outside the gates, it was as if the guards already sensed a familiar presence because they opened the gates for me.

I lifted my eyes and saw the guards, including lady Valerie and Mara and Maya.

"Alpha-?".

"Anastasia. I am Anastasia". I said to them and saw the shocked look on their faces.

"Congratulations, Alpha Anastasia! We heard the announcement from the elders. You have awakened your powers. You are truly great, Alpha Anastasia. I can sense that your aura has become stronger".

"Of course, my aura has become stronger, Lady Valerie. After all, I have surpassed my wolf".

"Oh my. Congratulations once again, Alpha Anastasia! You are the only werewolf and Alpha who have managed to surpass their wolves!". Lady Valerie bowed and said.

She was smiling like a proud mother.

"Congratulations, Alpha Anastasia!!". All the guards, including Mara and Maya, said before they knelt down before me.

"Alpha Ashton and Luna Allegra must be proudly watching over you from above".

I froze, and my eyes widened momentarily as Lady Valerie said that. I automatically regained my composure. "Arise, my loyal werewolves".

They rose from the ground.

’You are a natural, Clara. It’s almost as if you were born to rule over others’. Elektra said to me, but I didn’t reply to her.

Valerie’s words made me remember something important.

’I am not the real daughter of the late Alpha and Luna. So, am I worthy of keeping my alpha position and ruling over the shadows’ pack when I am just an outsider?’.

I fell silent and chose not to reply to Elektra again.

Ever since I took full control of this body, my life has been confusing and full of mysteries I don’t completely understand.

I passed through the gates and made my way to the Alpha’s mansion.

It has been two months.

It was time I checked out the gold mines the shadows’ pack had. Also, I haven’t seen those two weird eggs ever since I left the mansion.
