Mountain Sitting Immortal-Chapter 85: The Warning.
Arthur arched an eyebrow as he said, "Excuse me? I think I can teach whatever I want to anyone."
The lean man explained, "When we first heard that there was a dojo teaching people for free, we thought it was a scam. We thought you were surely setting up these people to rip them off."
"But then we heard that you were giving away free breathing techniques, so we were sent to determine if it was true. If it were a scam, you would be arrested and put to death."
"Our organization cannot allow the allowance of misleading people to go without punishment. Breathing techniques are a matter of life and death after all. It can cause a lot of deaths if not stopped quickly."
Arthur asked, "So what now that you’ve seen that I am not running a scam?"
The lean man chuckled and said, "Of course we didn’t think you were truly giving away a breathing technique. So we came here to kill you. But now that we have confirmed that what you’re teaching is real, we have come to warn you."
"Here goes the warning. You can’t teach breathing techniques for free."
He shook his head. "What you mean is that I shouldn’t teach breathing techniques for free. I can, and I have been doing so for a week now."
"I clearly can. But you don’t want me to. So I shouldn’t."
The lean man shrugged. "Take it however you want. But whatever is going on here has to stop."
Arthur refused. "I assure you that it won’t stop. At least not without me knowing why I shouldn’t teach people whatever I want. I haven’t committed any crime, and yet you’re telling me not to stop."
"What kind of nonsense is that? I can’t run a scam, and I also can’t run a real dojo for free. That’s going too far. Who are you guys anyway? Why should I listen to anything you say instead of cutting you down right now?"
The fierce man brought his two large hands together and popped the joints of his fingers loudly as he said, "You can give it a try."
The lean man stopped his partner again. "Calm down, Reggie."
Then he said to Arthur, "You’re clearly a smart man. If you’re smart, you should know that what you’re doing is not worth offending us."
Arthur shook his head. "You’re wrong again. I won’t know if it isn’t worth it if I don’t know who you are. After all, what kind of person would I be if I let any riffraff come from the streets and tell me to stop what I’m doing?"
He doesn’t plan to stop what he is doing, so he wants to know where they are from so that he knows where to go when he wants to uproot their organization from the root when he decides to break off niceties with these two.
The fierce man replied, "We are from the alliance of dojos in the city."
He tilted his head and said, "Why have I never heard of it?"
The lean man explained, "Every dojo in the city is a member of the alliance. You haven’t heard of it because you’re new. The alliance usually sends someone to inspect and authenticate a dojo before they are allowed to join. We are the ones that were sent."
He said, "Oh. In that case, you can go and tell your superiors that I am not interested in joining their organization. If I am interested in getting help from anyone, I’ll just go home to my parents in the Dyson family compound to ask them for help."
They revealed their background, and it was bigger than he expected. So he revealed his own background too.
His background happened to be bigger than theirs. It made the two of them step back in fear.
The lean man said with disbelief and confusion, "You are a noble? But why will a noble come here to give out free lessons?"
He smiled at them and said, "I’m just a bastard. But that should be enough for me to do whatever I want in this city as long as it is not a crime."
The fierce man was still afraid, but he had stopped retreating in fear. He still wants to leave, as being a bastard is enough to get him killed. But he doesn’t want to run away without at least completing his mission first.
As for the lean man, his face was changing as he was experiencing a myriad of emotions.
Eventually he sighed and said, "You are right. You can do anything you want. But it won’t be good for you. You will attract a lot of trouble if you keep this dojo open."
"You see, as I said earlier, the breathing technique is a matter of life and death. It concerns the livelihood of the dojos. They won’t be happy if you’re giving it away for free while they are asking for money for it. You will take business away from them."
He shrugged and said, "That’s not my business."
The lean man shook his head. "I’m afraid it is. They will create trouble for your dojo. They won’t kill you, but they will try their best to disrupt your dojo."
He nodded and said, "Thank you for your warning. I’ll take it to heart and prepare."

"What I am teaching is just the basic breathing technique. It is only useful up to the sixth transformation. Anyone who will get angry about that level of technique should be weak. I am sure that I can handle them."
"If they are too strong for me, I will just ask the people at home to fight for me. So I’m sure I can handle whatever they can throw at me."
The lean man sighed in defeat. But he didn’t give up yet. He made one last attempt.
He said, "How about I give you a recommendation that will ease things up?"
Arthur said, "I’m listening."
