Mountain Sitting Immortal-Chapter 685: Sun King’s Might.

The Sun King needed the leystone to remain, so when Thunder Drake arrived, the Sun King chose to confront him.

No words were exchanged when they met. The two of them began to fight immediately.

The Sun King, just like his title stated, is a star. He is a small star, but he is the source of all light and heat in this world. This state of existence makes him the most powerful indigene of this world.

The Sun King is also a skilled fighter. The reason he betrayed his world was that he was proud of his talent and thought that it was unfair that he would die and not have the chance to become the Sovereign.

He didn’t want to fight the invaders. But now that he must fight, he didn’t hold back at all.

The Sun King exploded with great power. He rushed at Thunder Drake recklessly and smashed into Thunder with two fists. Each of his attacks was similar to a meteor smashing into the earth. His punches caused an explosion every time they hit their target.

Perhaps more formidable was his speed. He was blindingly fast, and Thunder Drake couldn’t gain any advantage over him in speed.

In terms of raw power, Thunder Drake couldn’t do anything to him. The bright capsule of plasma around the Sun King formed a barrier that shielded him from Thunder Drake’s elemental and physical attacks.

The plasma around the Sun King formed a structure similar to the barrier spells of cultivators. But unlike normal barrier spells, this particular barrier was as thick as a wall.

Not only was the barrier very thick, but the energy that makes it up is incredibly hot. The heat of the barrier made it capable of destroying attacks as well as defending against attacks.

The fire was also in a plasma state similar to that of lightning, so even though lightning is superior to fire, Thunder Drake’s lightning bolts couldn’t overcome this barrier. Thunder Drake couldn’t resort to binding the Sun King up either because the plasma barrier was always destroying his lightning bolts.

This forced Thunder Drake to use his signature Thunder Roar spell. He created a massive wave of sound energy that he blasted at the Sun King. The attack is mostly spiritual, so physical attacks are nearly useless against it.

But the Sun King was still able to defend against the attack. When the sound wave struck him, he didn’t sway or stagger like Thunder Drake expected. In fact, he didn’t seem to feel the attack at all. This made Thunder Drake realize that the Sun King had a way to defend against spiritual attacks.

As the fight went on, the Sun King was always able to hold back Thunder Drake without suffering any loss in their exchange. He was just too strong in terms of defense, offense, and speed. His skill was impeccable, too.

As long as the limit of the world remained at 99 C, no amount of raw force was going to be able to defeat the Sun King. Only something that targets his weakness and can weaken the power of the fire burning around him would help to defeat him.

That was how the Snow King had been defeated. Three of her peers had surrounded her and also used a special weapon crafted to kill her before they could defeat her. Even then, one of them was still nearly killed.

As the fight went on, Thunder Drake became more impressed with the Sun King. He said to himself, "So this is what a Sovereign is."

Thunder Drake had to admit that if not for the fact that his current body is a rank 5 artifact, it wouldn’t be able to withstand the blows of the Sun King. The heat around the Sun King was hot normally. But when that heat is amplified and concentrated on a target, very few things could withstand it.

The worst part is that the world is also constantly battering Thunder Drake. Wind would carry rocks and stones to smash against him, and a whirlwind of sand would rush around him, trying to grind him down.

The wind speed was very high and was hitting him with the power that was at the limit of the world. Not only this, but the wind was always interfering with his movements by dragging him around, and it also had a spiritual component that was blinding his divine sense.

All of these were occurring while he was fighting the Sun King. So Thunder Drake was fighting at least two people.

If he were simply fighting two people, he would at least be able to attack the two of them in return and maybe turn the tide of battle by injuring one of them. But in this situation, he couldn’t retaliate against the power of the world, and he couldn’t harm either the Sun King or the world with his fists.

The leystone is not something that can be activated in a few seconds or even a few minutes. As something that can facilitate communication and the transportation of resources across worlds, it takes a long time and a lot of energy to activate it.

The bigger the leystone, the more energy it will need to activate and the longer it will take to activate. So the gem kings needed at least 3 hours before they could activate it.

The Sun King held Thunder Drake back during this time. The angry world spirit also held Lady Evergreen when she tried to bypass the Sun King and destroy the leystone.

Sword Flash saw this and decided that there was nothing they could. Then he asked the other two to return.
